The Other House, the innovative new Residents Club brand that’s redefining the way to live in London, has unveiled the interiors of its much anticipated second opening, ‘The Other House Covent Garden’, set to launch in Q4 2025.
Designed by its visionary CEO and Founder, Naomi Heaton, along with TOHID, the brand’s own inhouse interior design team, every detail has been thoughtfully curated to evoke a sense of drama and theatre, combining hints of the art nouveau and art deco periods with a distinctly British flair. This highly anticipated addition brings The Other House’s unique concept to the heart of London’s West End, combining apartment-style living with hotel services for short and long stays, a buzzing local hub and an exclusive private members’ club with state-of-the-art wellbeing facilities.
Situated in London’s vibrant theatre district, a stone’s throw from the iconic piazza and the Royal Opera
House, the development comprises seven historic buildings – four of which are listed, including a former rectory – unified around a striking central, five-storey glazed atrium. The architecture blends period charm with contemporary style, featuring a bold threestorey addition that pays homage to the area’s rich history.
The property will feature a total of 146 residences. These range from hotel rooms for those staying a night or two to its signature Club Flats, which include studios, one- and two-bedroom options for medium and long stay residents living there for a few weeks to a year. Many can be made into ‘combos’ for larger families, especially over the summer. In addition to this, two stunningly contemporary penthouses are situated on the top floors with balconies and views over London’ skyline.
Each Club Flat offers beautifully appointed, selfcontained accommodation for any length stay with a living/dining area, fully equipped kitchenette, separate bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms with a rainfall shower. Inside each flat, residents walk directly into their living area rather than the bedroom, just as in a house or apartment. Traditional hotel elements such as the corridors have been reimagined – with Club flats assigned street names and addresses – and front doors chosen to evoke the atmosphere of a London street scape. Due to the nature of the development, The Other House also offers a unique mix of options including flats in its historic houses,
which can be booked individually or as an entire private townhouse, with dedicated access to the members’ club. There is an option for every resident, depending on their requirements.
At the heart of the building lies the private members’ club, The Club at The Other House, which features design-led lounges, a screening room, private dining and meeting rooms centred around a striking arched riad-style atrium. On the floor above there are stateof-the-art fitness facilities, including a stone-hewn vitality pool, with vaulted sauna, steam, meditation and chill-out rooms, a fully equipped gym and a 360° sensory experience chamber. An exciting calendar of exclusive events and partnerships will further enhance the resident experience, with options such as tickets to local Covent Garden landmarks including the Royal Opera House and Sadler’s Wells.
Residents can also enjoy the latest outpost of The Other House’s destination cocktail bar, the Owl & Monkey, or its relaxed, all-day street café, The Other Kitchen. Whilst the exclusive rooftop bar, The Peacock Lounge and its open-air roof terrace, open to members, residents and for limited bookings only, will sit above the Covent Garden roofline, offering panoramic view of London’s iconic landmarks, including the River Thames, St Paul’s Cathedral, Westminster, Tower Bridge and The Shard.
Building on the success of The Other House South Kensington which opened in 2022, The Other House Covent Garden takes its signature ‘British Maximalist’ style to new heights. Inspired by the area’s colourful past and theatrical legacy, it exudes a luxurious yet eclectic charm. The interiors feature the bold glamour, luxury and sense of drama of the art deco era with the movement and fluidity of the art nouveau period, all presented with contemporary panache. It combines hallmark art deco metallic designs and black accents with the teal, muted salmon and leaf green palette which epitomised art nouveau. Uniquely designed metal work, especially commissioned mirrors, statement lighting and curated accessories reflecting the period, complete the sophisticated aesthetic.
The interiors of each space tell a different story, full of drama, character, fun and surprise, with CEO, Naomi even appearing in the intricate art deco inspired wall art displayed in the club flats. This has been created by the inimitable sustainable design duo Vin + Omi, The Other House’s sustainability consultants (who can also be spotted in the artwork) whose aim is to ensure eco-conscious practices extend to creative activations, the interiors and beyond.
and low-carbon concrete, reducing its environmental footprint. 92.5% of site waste has been diverted from landfill, underscoring its commitment to responsible construction. With an anticipated BREEAM rating of ‘Excellent,’ the project exemplifies green innovation, and the commitment to meeting the objectives of the Paris Accord.
Naomi Heaton, CEO & Founder of The Other House commented: “Covent Garden’s rich history and vibrant culture make it the perfect location for our second Residents Club. As somebody deeply passionate about how interiors can uplift your spirits and influence your sense of wellbeing, we’ve curated every detail to create an immersive and sophisticated environment, which transitions from one space to another to reflect your mood, whether to relax, work, nurture your inner self, or be in great company. This reflects our vision for today, where you can do everything under one roof. We call it ‘Hybrid Living’, and ensures whether you’re a one-night visitor, a regular out of town visitor or living in our club flats for a year, it always feels like your other house. The interiors have been designed to tell a story – one that blends timeless elegance with bold, theatrical flair. We are redefining traditional notions of staying and renting in London by offering a fully flexible, fully catered for lifestyle that meets the multiple practical and personal needs of both travellers and tenants. Whether for a day, week or year, The Other House is more than just a place to stay – it’s a place to belong.”
Rates at The Other House Covent Garden will start from £350 per night for a Club Flat. As ‘your other house for a long as you’re in town’, stays at this Residents Club can range from one night to a year or more; residencies of any length include access to its exclusive private club.
Sustainability continues to beat at the core of The Other House’s ethos. Setting a benchmark for eco-conscious urban living, the Covent Garden development is crafted from FSC-certified timber www.otherhouse.com
is our dolcevita, since 1525
When my wife and I arrived at The Dorchester in London for a much-needed weekend away, we expected luxury—what we didn’t expect was just how exceptional and personal the experience would be. I’ve stayed in many top-tier hotels over the years, both for work and leisure, but The Dorchester redefined five-star service for us in every possible way.
The occasion was my wife’s birthday, and we had chosen The Dorchester because of its legendary reputation, elegant style, and central location in Mayfair. From the moment we stepped through the doors, we were greeted not just with impeccable professionalism but with a warmth and sincerity that stayed with us throughout our entire stay.
It’s difficult to describe the level of care we received without sounding exaggerated—but genuinely, every single member of staff we interacted with made us feel special. The team were attentive without ever being
overbearing, and somehow always knew exactly what we needed, often before we even realised it ourselves.
One of the standout moments came shortly after we checked into our suite. Knowing it was my wife’s birthday, the staff had gone out of their way to mark the occasion in the most thoughtful and elegant way possible. Waiting in our room was a chilled bottle of champagne, a beautifully arranged bouquet of fresh flowers, handmade chocolates, and a stunning birthday cake. Every element was picture-perfect and added a real sense of occasion to the trip. It was clear that these weren’t just standard touches—they were genuine, well-considered gestures.
What struck me most throughout the weekend was how personal everything felt. Whether it was the way the staff remembered our names, or the subtle, unobtrusive attentiveness of the service, there was never a moment that felt impersonal or transactional. The Dorchester has perfected that rare combination of traditional elegance with heartfelt hospitality.
One moment that particularly stood out was when one of the team presented us with a beautifully boxed Dorchester teddy bear—completely unprompted. They’d learned in passing conversation that we had a young son back home, and this small, thoughtful gesture was their way of helping us bring a little piece of the experience back to him. It was a perfect example of the kind of thoughtful care that sets this hotel apart.
Our suite came with butler service, and I have to say—it was truly exceptional. I’ve experienced similar services in other high-end hotels, but this was on another level. The butlers were discreet, intuitive, and thoroughly professional. Whether helping us unpack, arranging dinner reservations, or just checking in subtly to make sure everything was perfect, they delivered a seamless, unobtrusive experience from start to finish.
Of course, part of the magic of The Dorchester is its timeless setting. The hotel’s design manages to be both grand and comforting, rich in Art Deco style
with all the modern amenities you could ask for. Our suite overlooked Hyde Park and offered a tranquil space to unwind from the buzz of the city. The level of comfort—from the plush bedding to the exquisite bathroom finishes—made it easy to relax, recharge, and enjoy every moment.
Wandering through the hotel, from the ornate lobby to the iconic Promenade, was like stepping into another world—one where elegance is effortless and no detail is overlooked.
The culinary experiences at The Dorchester were every bit as refined as you’d expect from a hotel of this calibre. We began each morning with a luxurious breakfast in The Promenade, and treated ourselves to afternoon tea—an experience I highly recommend. From the delicate finger sandwiches and scones to the perfectly steeped tea, it was a quiet celebration of British tradition done to perfection.
We also enjoyed evening cocktails at The Bar, where the ambience was as sophisticated as the drinks were expertly crafted. Each dining and drinking experience reflected the same consistency and care that characterised the entire stay.
Reflecting on our time at The Dorchester, what stands out is not just the luxury, but the feeling of being truly looked after. We went there to celebrate a special occasion, but left feeling as though we had been part
of something even more meaningful. It wasn’t just a hotel stay—it was a deeply personal experience, filled with moments that will stay with us for years to come.
As someone who is used to managing people, expectations, and fast-moving schedules, I deeply appreciated how effortless everything felt at The Dorchester. All the details were taken care of—quietly, perfectly—allowing us to simply be present, and enjoy time together without distraction.
For anyone looking for a hotel experience that blends timeless luxury with genuine hospitality, The Dorchester is, without question, in a league of its own. I have no doubt we’ll return again—and I can’t wait for that moment.

In a fast-paced, technology-driven world, the rhythm of life for business travelers has become tighter and more efficient than ever before. Flights, meetings, and a constant flow of information leave urban travelers quietly accumulating invisible fatigue and anxiety.
Even in an era of AI and innovative technologies, humanity’s innate longing for nature remains undiminished. We still seek the warmth of sunlight, the stretch of greenery, and a rhythm of breathing that feels effortless and free.
Inspired by Orange County, California, Orange Hotel has embraced the spirit of “sunshine”, “vitality”, and “positivity” since the launch of the Orange Hotel 2.0 version. Vermilion Zhou Design reinterpreted Southern California’s relaxed, natural, and healthy atmosphere, bringing it into our hotel spaces to soothe the tension of travel and make every journey more enjoyable.
Building on this foundation, the Orange Hotel 3.0 version has further distilled the concept of LOHAS— Lifestyles of Health and Sustainability as the core of our design philosophy, creating opportunities for travellers to reconnect with nature and themselves, even during busy journeys.
LOHAS: Redefining the urban business travel experience
At our Shanghai Tianlin Road property, Orange Hotel 3.0 version systematically integrates the spirit of LOHAS into spatial design and operational details, crafting an optimized journey of experience:
Liberty
An open, multifunctional lobby layout breaks away from the traditional hotel boundaries, creating a more welcoming and inclusive arrival experience.
Orange
Using orange, green, and brown as the primary palette, the design language draws from nature to create a warm, fresh, and alive space.
Healthy
From circulation planning to functional zoning, the breakfast experience is carefully curated: The LowFat Healthy Zone, the Bread and Coffee Zone, and the Carbohydrate Happiness Zone offer balanced nutrition and comfort, catering to different travelers’ rhythms of life.
Activity
Dynamic elements are infused into the space, supporting guests’ movement freely from gentle stretching to aerobic exercise and helping them maintain an active state during travel.
Sustainability
Starting from the construction phase, the team adopted eco-friendly, prefabricated building methods and selected renewable materials such as straw and orange peel derivatives, embedding sustainable development principles into every detail of hotel operations.
A sustainable daily life of sunshine, freshness, and vitality
Orange Hotel 3.0 version focuses on the functionality and efficiency of spaces, and on awakening the natural resonance between body and environment through design. Here, sunlight is not just a concept, but a tangible warmth flowing through the space; greenery is not mere decoration, but a source of healing and rejuvenation; vitality is not a slogan, but a state naturally awakened during every journey.
With a design language rooted in health, nature, and sustainability, Orange Hotel 3.0 version responds to the deep needs of today’s travelers for relaxation and renewal, allowing every guest to effortlessly enjoy a journey filled with nature, freshness, and the spirit of LOHAS, even amidst the city’s pace.

In today’s hospitality landscape, first impressions count. Guests expect visible cleanliness, quick turnarounds, and seamless service. For front-ofhouse teams, traditional spray-and-cloth methods just can’t keep up. That’s why many are switching to ready-to-use sanitising wipes, and not looking back.
Reusable cloths, even when laundered regularly, can harbour bacteria and spread germs. During busy service, it’s easy to lose track of what’s been sanitised. Ready-to-use wipes remove that uncertainty. Each one is fresh, pre-dosed with the right amount of solution, and disposed of after use, minimising crosscontamination and boosting hygiene confidence.
They also save time. Whether you’re resetting tables, wiping menus, or cleaning card machines, wipes are faster and more convenient. No need to juggle bottles and cloths, just grab, wipe, and go. It’s efficient, consistent, and ideal for high-pressure environments.
Introducing Sani Professional – The No.1 Foodservice Wipe Brand And when it comes to sustainability, there’s no need to compromise. Innovations like Protect 360°
biodegradable sanitising wipes are 100% plastic-free, plant-based, and packaged in recyclable materials, helping venues stay green while staying clean.
“These wipes are thicker, more effective, and even gentle on my skin. No smears, no irritation, and perfect for quick cleans during events when time’s tight,” says Debbi Scobell, Hospitality & Events Coordinator at Forest Green Rovers, the greenest football club in the world.
In a sector where hygiene and perception go hand in hand, ready-to-use wipes help teams deliver visible, effective cleaning, quickly and responsibly.

In hospitality, AV is too often treated as a background element — a “nice-to-have” or a line item ticked off during fit-out. But in today’s experience-driven market, this mindset is outdated. When approached strategically, AV becomes an infrastructure asset — one that transforms flexibility, boosts bookings, and enhances profitability.
At Audiotek, we’ve seen this first-hand. With the right AV setup, venues can shift from laid-back lounge to high-energy event space in moments — no tech crew required. That adaptability translates directly into commercial value: more events, more formats, more spend per head.
Welcome to the Experience Economy
Guests today aren’t just buying food or drink — they’re buying a moment. From immersive dining and live DJs to brand activations and private parties, expectations are high. In this landscape, sound, light, and video don’t just set the tone — they are the experience. Done right, AV enhances ambience, drives loyalty, and earns rave reviews.
The Cost of Getting It Wrong
Too many venues treat AV as an afterthought, only to end up with patchy sound, baffling controls, and spaces that lack versatility. The result? Lost revenue, staff frustration, and missed opportunities to rebook or repurpose.
Smart AV, Real Results
We design systems around flexibility — zoned audio and lighting, simple interfaces, and scalable architecture. From podcast recordings and launch parties to late-night sets, a single room becomes five bookable formats. All controlled easily, all invisible to the guest.
AV That Pays for Itself
A well-integrated AV system delivers: Increased revenue from diverse bookings
• Lower overheads by reducing technical support needs
Higher guest spend through better atmosphere and dwell time
• Greater loyalty via memorable, seamless experiences
The Audiotek Advantage
We don’t just install gear — we engineer solutions. With decades of experience across live venues, hotels, and restaurants, we design systems that work, scale, and stay ahead of the curve.
Final Thought: In hospitality, AV isn’t decoration. It’s strategy. And in the right hands, it becomes a powerful engine for growth.

At Ton, tradition is not merely a concept, but a living practice. Chairs № 14 and № 811 are more than just furniture. Created more than a century ago, they are emblems of enduring craftsmanship, continuity and design clarity, and are still produced today with the same respect for material, form and tradition. These two iconic pieces of bentwood furniture have come to define the look of cafés, restaurants, hotels and homes around the world.
Introduced in 1859, Chair № 14 is often referred to as “the chair of chairs”. Its pioneering use of steam-bent wood redefined furniture production, making construction efficient and the form elegantly minimal. Just six pieces of bentwood, ten screws and two bolts create a structure that is strong and functional yet visually light and beautifully proportioned. It’s quiet confidence and universal appeal have made it a global standard, particularly in café culture, where it remains an iconic presence to this day.
The story of Chair № 811 began in 1930 when the architect and designer Josef Hoffmann conceived the idea of combining the precision of bentwood with the softness of cane. The result is a striking
yet subtle chair, with a handwoven seat and backrest that add lightness and tactility, and a frame with refined lines. Hoffmann’s design has proved to be timeless, being equally suited to heritage settings and contemporary interiors.
These models are special not just for their form, but also for the way they are made. Both chairs are still crafted in a factory in Bystřice pod Hostýnem, where wood has been shaped by hand using steam since 1861. In this historic Czech town, generations of artisans have passed down their skills not through instruction manuals but through gestures, rhythm and the deep intuition that comes only with experience.
Bending solid wood into precise, durable curves takes patience and respect for the material. It’s a method that cannot be rushed — and the finished chair shows it. Every arc, every joint and every silhouette tells the story of time, care and mastery.
Yet these icons are far from relics of the past. Today, Chairs № 14 and № 811 are available in a carefully curated range of finishes inspired by Ton’s surroundings, including a deep blue reminiscent of workers’ uniforms, a warm brick red reminiscent of the historic factory buildings and
vibrant greens and yellows drawn from the surrounding nature. These grounded colours bring a subtle modernity to the classic silhouettes of the chairs, enabling them to express a new visual language while honouring their origins.
Their spirit also lives on in modern reinterpretations. Chair № 314, designed by Claesson Koivisto Rune, offers a softer take on No. 14, with a more sculptural design featuring rounded geometry and refined minimalism. Meanwhile, Chair № 822, the contemporary counterpart to № 811, updates Hoffmann’s legacy for the 21st century with improved ergonomics and a wider range of materials.
Some pieces are timeless because they never change. Others are timeless because they adapt. These two chairs are both. Still made. Still relevant. Still inspiring.

Lounge Seating: Soft, sculptural chairs and pouffes invite visitors to relax, encouraging dwell time and supporting a more immersive shopping experience.
Bar Seating: Sleek stools bring structure to Batch LDN’s in-store coffee and bar area, adding a social, laid-back edge to the retail space.
Workspaces: Communal tables encourage creativity and connection, bridging the gap between lifestyle and retail.
As more brands prioritise curated, experience-first spaces, the Cult x Batch LDN partnership offers a blueprint for the future of retail. This is design with intent — where every material, silhouette, and layout choice helps elevate the customer journey.
This collaboration reflects a shared belief in modern, purposeful design. It shows how thoughtful interiors don’t just complement a brand, they amplify it, transforming everyday retail into something far more meaningful.

Studies show that sleep is one of the top contributors to guest satisfaction and a dark room plays a significant role. Some online travel agencies even let you filter hotels by blackout curtains. But curtains alone aren’t enough. Forest Group’s high-quality curtain track and blind systems make the difference.
So, how do you create a pitch-black room? Here are a few proven options:
Multi channel systems
A favourite in hospitality. With multi channel systems you can create curtain overlap, eliminating the gap at the centre. Choose from manual or motorised tracks, depending on your preference. For complete blackout, add a Velcro profile: the curtain edges attach seamlessly, effectively blocking side light leakage.
Roller blinds
Pair chain- or motorised roller blinds with blackout fabric and side guides to block light. Roller blinds are space saving, easy to operate and perfect for minimal interiors.
Lightblocker pelmet profile
No pelmet or curtain box? No problem. Mount a pelmet profile to the ceiling to block light coming from above the curtain. A simple, yet highly effective blackout solution.
Ready to upgrade your guests’ sleep quality?
A dark room leaves a lasting impression and leads to better reviews. Want to learn more about Forest Group’s blackout solutions? Scan the QR code.
Curious about what’s possible for your hotel project? Scan the QR code to explore further.
Forest Group offers different drapery hardware solutions especially made for the hospitality industry. Whether you choose for our motorised curtain tracks or rods, blinds or manual curtain tracks your hotel guest will experience ‘the Forest Factor’. The Charles, a Rocco Forte Hotel in Munich, unveils a glamourous new makeover as it completes the extensive renovation of its ground fl oor. The new design, created by Paolo Moschino and Philip Vergeylen in collaboration with Olga Polizzi, features a vibrant new colour palette complimented by a lush botanical theme, which fl ows from the redesigned lobby, to the stylish Florio Restaurant and Bar, and through to the newly opened Circle Bar.
The reimaged lobby offers a grand welcome to hotel guests and visitors, featuring a striking central table framed by elegant statues and lavish floral arrangements. A curved plaster work by French artist Francois Mascarello on the back wall of the reception completes the transformation, adding to the refined atmosphere of the space.
Florio Restaurant & Bar
Florio restaurant, created by Italian culinary icon and Rocco Forte Hotels Creative Director of Food
Fulvio Pierangelini, draws its inspiration from the neighbouring Old Botanical Garden. The space features moss-green linen wallpaper and silvery olive trees bathed in natural light, with framed prints of colourful plants and fruit.
Now joined by the newly opened Florio Bar, the botanical theme continues with the rainforest green marble of the reception counter, two magnificent strelitzias and newly upholstered green benches. The Indian Rainforest Gold marble used for the bar counter, compliments the wood-clad columns that frame the entire bar table, creating a sophisticated ambience to enjoy a drink. In addition to small dishes and snacks, the menu offers a large selection of drinks in the style of the Italian aperitivo tradition, complimented by open wines and premium spirits.
Charmingly integrated and separate from the restaurant by two semi-transparent sliding doors, the new Private Dining Room features beautiful parquet flooring in various shades of brown and floral murals. Used in the morning to present the sumptuous breakfast buffet, the room can be transformed into a private dining room for intimate events and dinners.
The newly designed terrace offers an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Spanning 200 square meters, it continues the botanical theme. Sitting under large parasols, it’s the perfect spot to enjoy a drink on warm summer days, while in the evenings the large floor lanterns provide a sense of warmth
and comfort. The new wrought iron furniture in soft shades of green is complimented by cushions in a variety of different fabrics and patterns, creating a serene atmosphere. Two elegant light sculptures by Haberdashery, featuring 258 porcelain leaves, some adorned with precious metal glazes, gracefully complement one another, suspended from delicate strands of shimmering micro-fine threads.
Circle Bar’s name is derived from the shape of the room and the red steel ring by Italian artist Mauro Staccioli in the square at the front of the hotel. The inviting Art Deco setting offers a wide selection of champagnes, bar snacks, coffee, tea and delicious afternoon patisserie creations.

Habitus Design Group (HDG), founded by Samantha Drummond, creates hospitality destinations beyond the usual boundaries of imagination. Their projects are to be found from the Philippines to Scandinavia, from huge urban resorts which combine virtually every facet of hospitality under a single roof to intimate supper clubs for the cognoscenti, each one characterised by the unorthodox while hitting absolutely the right note - sumptuous, playful, belonging to its place and always memorable. The design studio is in Asia with satellite offices in London and Denmark; Samantha is an Australian national who began her career transforming bars in Melbourne into the place for celebrity after-parties before moving to Asia where she orchestrated the interior planning and design of Singapore’s Marina Bay Sands.
The firm’s latest game changing project is Solaire North in the Quezon City district of Manila, the Philippines’ first five-star integrated resort where the client’s mission was to elevate the local economy, reset the potential for international tourism and provide the leading hospitality draw for city residents. The design centrepiece is the ultimate expression of this ambition. Credited with being the world’s largest glass sculpture, it was conceived by Samantha to encourage visitors to dwell and then move up the multiple levels of the atrium, and was created by
artist, Nikolas Weinstein. “Mangrove embodies the spirit of innovation and artistry that defines Solaire North,” says Samantha.
Solaire North offers 17 dining options, each one designed by HDG. They include: Yakumi, an intimate fine dining Japanese destination full of shadow and glimmering illumination; the Pool Deck all-day dining experience offering an incredible selection of local cuisine; the top level Finestra, an imposing Italian restaurant particularly memorable for its hand-blown glass chandeliers and ancient olive tree dramatically suspended from the ceiling; and Sky Bar, replete with cigar and wine vault.

VMA Design Studio completes Double B Hostel in Bangkok using flowing wooden facades that bridge local craftsmanship with contemporary design.
VMA Design Studio has completed the Double B Hostel project, transforming a land plot with narrow street entry in Bangkok’s historic old town district into a 27-room boutique hostel that bridges traditional wood craftsmanship with contemporary organic forms. The design creates an unexpected spatial sequence that draws visitors from Bangkok’s narrow streetscape into a light-filled internal courtyard, where handcrafted wooden facades curve overhead like flowing timber waves.
The hostel stands in one of Bangkok’s old town communities where artisans have made Buddhist statues and religious artifacts for generations. The project connects visitors to the neighborhood’s living craft tradition and historic sites nearby. Like much of old Bangkok, the site faces a fundamental challenge:
buildings developed organically over time now stand wall-to-wall, severely limiting natural light and ventilation to interior spaces.
Natural light became the primary driver for the design. This focus shaped an internal courtyard with a large glass roof that draws in daylight to brighten the hostel’s central space. Due to the site’s narrow street frontage in this dense urban setting, the design naturally shifts inward, positioning the courtyard as the project’s main public area. Conceived as an internal alley, this courtyard draws visitors deeper into the building, connecting the street entry to the hostel’s core. The wooden facade extends seamlessly from the street front into the interior space, flowing inward and rising up to clad the courtyard walls— transforming these internal surfaces into a secondary facade that continues the exterior’s design approach.
This approach led to a unified facade treatment that works for both the street front and courtyard walls. The W-shaped profile catches natural light, giving the wooden surface visual depth. This facade element runs as a continuous extrusion from exterior to interior, pulling the building’s character from street to courtyard and creating visual continuity throughout.
For the making process, the team had to find an approach that works with regional construction capabilities. While using advanced computational design tools for development, the designers recognized that the local industry operates primarily
through wet construction systems and onsite casting, rather than prefabricated elements. The team created a strategy that taps into these skills by developing simplified procedures using basic molds and standard hand tools. The wooden facade components are formed through hot air heating and bending over predetermined molds with clear instructions, allowing skilled local craftspeople to handle the complex geometries using their existing expertise.
The project uses two types of wood based on where they’re needed. Reclaimed timber from an old warehouse that was part of the site was refinished for the internal courtyard facade and corridor ceilings.
For the exterior, composite wooden rods were chosen to handle Bangkok’s heat and humidity. This approach gives the old wood new life, while ensuring the facade can withstand the weather.
Each guest room features an integrated pocket lightbox—a recessed glass balcony with plants that draws natural light inward, while maintaining privacy from neighboring buildings. This internal lighting strategy extends into the courtyard, where planted balconies create an open-air garden atmosphere that relies on natural ventilation to stay comfortable. A large exhaust system pulls hot air upward from below the glass roof, drawing fresh air in at lower levels to keep the green spaces from becoming stagnant.
The hostel works within Bangkok’s dense urban constraints by layering these systems together—light, air, and greenery—to create internal spaces that feel open, breathable, and connected to nature and daylight.
“We started with a simple idea: to draw as much natural light as possible into the heart of the hostel and reconnect the building with the craft heritage of the neighborhood,” says Vichayuth Meenaphant, Principal at VMA Design Studio. “The flowing wooden facade is more than just an architectural exploration—it’s a bridge between tradition and innovation, shaped with advanced design tools, but relying on local hands and knowledge for making. It creates a space that feels open, bright, and rooted in the spirit of old Bangkok.”

Where design meets insight
Set amidst the idyllic landscape of County Limerick, Adare Manor stands as one of Ireland’s grandest estates, a place where centuries-old heritage meets thoughtful, contemporary luxury. Originally built in the 18th century, the Manor went through a major restoration and expansion, led by visionary designers David Collins Design Studio and Kim Partridge Interiors. Playing a central role in this transformation was bespoke lighting specialist Dernier & Hamlyn, tasked with crafting custom fittings that honour the Manor’s history while illuminating it for the future.
The design narrative was rooted in balance, celebrating the Gothic Revival architecture and storied past of the Manor, while creating spaces that feel vibrant and inviting to today’s guests. Lighting was key to realising this vision. Through the use of traditional materials and design influences, seamlessly integrated with modern LED technology and precision engineering, Dernier & Hamlyn developed lighting that enhances the architectural character while ensuring comfort and energy efficiency.
In the Tack Room, once the servants’ quarters, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Wall lights with opaque shades edged in rich red hues offer a soft, cosy glow. These fixtures, entirely custom-made, are ingeniously secured to avoid any impact on the ancient stone columns that support the 12th-centuryinspired vaulted ceiling, demonstrating a respect for the building’s fabric as well as a flair for innovation.
Meanwhile, the Carriage House, a newly constructed restaurant, embraces a refined, contemporary tone
with subtle Art Deco cues. Here, pendant lights, bar lamps, and over-table fittings contribute to a layered lighting scheme that transitions elegantly from lively daytime service to an intimate, atmospheric evening setting.
Simon Rawlings, Creative Director, David Collins Studio, remarks: “Dernier and Hamlyn’s lighting concept within the Carriage House and the Tack Room delivered the Studio’s brief with great execution and quality. Ambient and subtle in the Tack Room, where fringed lamps reveal little nooks set within the historic space. Whilst in the Carriage House, the lighting is versatile and adjusts as the space does, bustling with golfers during the daytime to a chic, atmospheric destination by night.”
From heritage detailing to modern-day functionality, this collaboration is a shining example of how lighting, when thoughtfully designed can become an architectural storyteller, guiding guests through a space and enhancing its emotional tone. At Adare Manor, light not only reveals the beauty of its surroundings; but it also becomes a part of its legacy.

heritage with a contemporary approach
ACPV ARCHITECTS Antonio Citterio Patricia Viel’s latest hotel project, the six-story Serlas Wing extension of the world-renowned Badrutt’s Palace Hotel in St. Moritz (Switzerland), comprises 25 contemporary, luxurious guestrooms and suites. The inspiration for the design of the building is the unique location in the old village of St. Moritz, surrounded by the mountainous natural landscape, and infused by the spirit of the Hotel that originally opened in 1896. The design of the new building has been conceived to offer unique and renovated guest experiences, and to establish harmonious relations with the local context.
“The architecture and the interiors of the new Serlas Wing were designed by imagining how people would experience and perceive the space inside,” says architect Antonio Citterio, Chairman and co-founder of ACPV ARCHITECTS. “In the guestrooms and the suites, window openings are placed in positions that create intimate connections between guests and the surrounding landscape. The placement of the
windows adds a special quality to the facade, which references the traditional architectural volume of the Chesa Planta house in Samedan (Switzerland).”
Serlas Wing connects seamlessly with the neighboring buildings: the portico at the front of the building will continue in line with the surrounding building’s porticos. “The project also creates a new pedestrian path network from via Serlas to the village center with a series of stairs and passages that improve walkability in this part of St. Moritz.” adds architect Antonio Citterio.
As an exercise in craftsmanship, the building’s facade has been constructed using regional Dorato Valmalenco stone, dotted with deep, carved-in windows, and augmented by bronze details that add a touch of elegance. The building’s cantilevered wooden roof presents a forward-looking aesthetic, signaling a departure from tradition. Guests discover the new Serlas Wing through the triple-height lobby, crossed by a sculptural bridge, lit by a large arched window from above.
“We were excited to partner with ACPV ARCHITECTS for the development of our new Serlas Wing, as they echo our commitment to marrying the historic charm of our iconic building with the highest level of contemporary design,” notes Richard Leuenberger, Managing Director of Badrutt’s Palace Hotel. “This
initiative directly caters to the evolving preferences of our multigenerational clientele, enhancing our accommodation offerings and forging a natural link between Chesa Veglia and the entire hotel complex.”
Inspired by traditional construction methods, the new Serlas Wing guestrooms provides a welcoming environment designed with a contemporary approach to the spatial functionality and the detailing of materials, furniture and lighting. The guestrooms’ color palette enhances and frames the panoramic views of the surroundings. The interiors and the material selection have been inspired by local traditions: all guestrooms feature oak wood,
natural stone flooring and wool-fabric wall paneling. In addition, the interiors feature furniture by B&B Italia and Flexform, and fabrics by Loro Piana.
The lighting design by Metis Lighting covered both the exteriors and the interior spaces. The façade and outdoor lighting design accentuates the architectural qualities of the building, while indoor lighting inspires an appreciation for textures and materials.

For Nina Hellfritz-Lange, Managing Partner of Aliseo,
design is far more than aesthetics. “It’s about creating experiences that speak to people,” she says, reflecting on Aliseo’s approach to hotel accessories. “Our products are crafted not just to complement a space, but to elevate the guest experience in a meaningful way.”
This philosophy has guided Aliseo for decades, as the company has built its reputation on producing innovative, high-quality accessories that blend functionality with striking design. Whether it’s a sleek hairdryer, a stylish magnifying mirror, or elegant leather accessories, each piece is designed to enhance both the visual appeal and the practical use of a hotel room. The emphasis is always on how the right detail can transform an ordinary stay into an extraordinary one.
As the trend toward personalization in hospitality grows, Aliseo is pushing the boundaries of customization. “We’ve noticed a shift in what our clients want,” Hellfritz-Lange explains. “Hoteliers and designers are looking for products that not only perform well but also offer opportunities for creative expression. Colour, materials, finishes—these elements allow for a more bespoke approach to design.”
Recent projects showcase the trust prestigious hotels place in Aliseo. The company is proud to have contributed to the Four Seasons on Mykonos and Corinthia Rome, both set to open in 2025, as well
as Peninsula London and Six Senses London. These collaborations emphasize Aliseo’s ability to cater to luxury properties that demand the highest standards in both design and functionality.
Aliseo’s products are not only visually appealing but are also built for exceptional quality and maximum product lifespan. “We know that hoteliers need durable, high-performance accessories that maintain their premium look over time,” says Hellfritz-Lange. “Our products are designed with this longevity in mind, ensuring that they meet the rigorous demands of daily hotel use.”
It’s this commitment to bespoke solutions and quality that Aliseo will be showcasing at the upcoming HIX London trade fair in November, where the company will make its debut at Booth A11. Here, Aliseo will unveil a range of products specifically designed for customization, with a focus on special colours - a critical consideration for the architects and interior designers attending the event.
For Aliseo, the future of hotel design is all about individuality. As the company continues to develop new products, from lighting solutions to highperformance bathroom accessories, the focus remains on delivering pieces that are not only functional but that also offer a unique aesthetic signature.

1 Hotel Mayfair began renovations in 2023 to bring a sustainable, luxury hotel close to London’s iconic Green Park. This included the inclusion of bi-parting sliding doors in the Skyline bedroom suites to separate the bedroom and bathroom to maximise floor space, allow for flexible privacy options and create an open-plan layout.
To fit with the minimalistic and modern aesthetic of the rest of the hotel, the brief also required slimline framed aluminium doors with integrated glass to enhance the flow of natural light in the suite.Drench Showers manufactured bespoke black aluminium framed partition doors with fluted glass for the project and did not hesitate to contact P C Henderson for a suitable sliding door hardware solution.
Steve Middleton, Operations Director at Drench Showers, commented, “For this project, we required a sliding door system that could withstand our heavy, aluminium-framed doors whilst still offering smooth and effortless operation.”
Catering for wooden and metal doors weighing up to 120kg each, Husky 120 Pro was identified as the best system for the project. Designed with an anodised aluminium track and nylon rollers, Husky 120 Pro offers a quiet system which allows the doors to effortlessly glide along the track with minimal friction.
To further enhance the operation of the sliding system, the system was fitted with dual soft close to gently bring the door into the open and closed position to prevent unwanted slamming. For a minimalistic look, the sliding door track was fitted flush with the ceiling to give the appearance of floor-to-ceiling doors.

Karta Floors, a pioneer in innovative flooring solutions, is thrilled to announce the official approval of its patent for a revolutionary ‘method of creating virtual texture’ by the Intellectual Property Office, a landmark achievement unveiled at this year’s Clerkenwell Design Week. This significant milestone underscores Karta’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of design and material possibilities.
The announcement coincided with Karta’s highly successful display of its Recycled Leather Series at Clerkenwell Green. The collection garnered widespread acclaim, with visitors commending Karta’s exceptional sustainability credentials, remarkable durability, and effortless installation. Overwhelmingly, designers and architects highlighted how authentically the floors “look like real wood” – a naturalistic quality that is a direct result of Karta’s newly patented process.
This proprietary method allows Karta to create an unparalleled illusion of depth and realism on two-dimensional substrates. By meticulously manipulating light and shadow captured from precisely crafted master surfaces, where natural timber characteristics are carefully augmented to enhance their visual impact, Karta replicates the nuanced characteristics of natural timber, including subtle grain variations and ‘perfect imperfections’, ensuring a level of authenticity
previously unattainable in engineered surfaces. Unlike conventional LVT products often marred by discernible repeating patterns and textures – a common giveaway – Karta’s method delivers an unparalleled naturalistic variation.
Water-resistant, easy to clean and maintain, and highly effective against scratches, scuffs, dents, and general wear and tear, Karta is ideal for the daily demands of the hospitality sector. Its water-resistant, non-porous top layer in particular is a significant boon in areas prone to spillages. Easy clean-up dramatically minimises the risk of warping, swelling, and mold and bacterial growth.
Robert Walsh, Founder of Karta, commented, “The new patent is a shining example of our commitment to Research and Development, and to generating a creative space where technological innovation, a deep understanding of woodworking traditions and a profound appreciation of nature can combine.”
Karta Floors continues to redefine the possibilities for sustainable, high-performance flooring that meets the aesthetic demands of contemporary interior design and architecture.
EL EQUIPO CREATIVO, the award-winning interior architecture studio, has once again brought its signature design to Kimpton Hotels—this time leading the redesign of all public spaces at the newly renovated Kimpton Los Monteros Hotel in Marbella, following their successful work on Spain’s first Kimpton Hotel in Barcelona. Their approach for the project is deeply inspired by Marbella’s rich landscape and cultural heritage, aiming to capture its essence through a contemporary, yet locally rooted aesthetic.
The project draws inspiration from Andalusia’s rich landscape and artistic heritage, celebrating its vibrant greenery, Mediterranean light, and the enduring interplay of colour and pattern. Marbella’s distinctive scenery—often evoked in Andalusian poetry—serves as a guiding thread, with an emphasis on weaving lush vegetation and natural elements throughout the space. The design captures the greens
of the landscape, the blues of the sea and sky, and the warmth of golden sunlight, creating a dynamic, yet harmonious environment. Additionally, the works of Picasso, born in Málaga, and other Spanish artists influence the project, particularly in the use of curves, colour contrasts, and ceramic craftsmanship with a bold, modern twist.
While drawing from Mediterranean tradition, the design also incorporates a ‘70s-inspired touch that reflects the building’s original architecture from that era. This influence is evident in the use of geometric patterns, built-in niches, and light-filtering elements.
Upon entering the lobby and lounge areas, guests are welcomed by a warm and inviting ambience with a white Mediterranean background, wooden elements, and colourful furnishings inspired by the 70s. Handpainted murals inspired by Picasso add an artistic touch, evoking the home of an art enthusiast.
This philosophy extends into the lounges and library, where an eclectic, artsy, and warm environment is achieved through crafted objects, bold carpets, and wooden sliding elements that allow for flexible privacy levels to the central patio and adjacent spaces.
The existing Andalusian patio, one of the hotel’s original and essential elements, is enhanced with more lush vegetation, simplified architectural
features, a Mediterranean material palette, and a central sculptural water element that becomes the focal point.
The pool area is reimagined with a topographyinspired design, where a warm white backdrop enhances the refreshing natural turquoise tones of the water. Multi-level platforms blend in organically, creating a vibrant and colourful atmosphere with a vintage, chic vibe that invites relaxation. Nestled on one of these platforms, the Costa Club Pool Bar stands out with its terracotta tiles and latticework. A wooden pergola filters the light, casting playful shadows that evoke the essence of an authentic Mediterranean retreat.
Azul Bar has been a Marbella icon since 1962. The updated design embraces a ‘blue’ theme, featuring a striking central bar crafted with 3D ceramic elements. Large hand-painted murals—where shades of blue take centre stage and Picasso-inspired feminine forms come to life—add a creative touch to various seating areas, transforming them into intimate, artful corners full of character. The space effortlessly balances elegance and ease, creating a seamless day-to-night atmosphere that feels both vibrant and refined.
Jara Restaurant reinterprets traditional Mediterranean cuisine in a space that feels like dining in a garden. A white backdrop contrasts with green ceramic tiles and plants. Near the kitchen and buffet, and enhancing the space’s local character, tiles shift to traditional Andalusian patterns with blues and yellow hues. A carefully curated layout fosters cosy dining experiences. Angled walls create intimate corners, while breaking uniformity. Large openings in these walls enhance fluidity and depth, maintaining an open yet inviting atmosphere.
Escondido is a bold and glamorous rooftop bar designed with slightly stepped platforms that create distinct zones for an elevated experience. The upper level hosts a chic rooftop bar infused with a ‘70s twist—bold geometric patterns and terracotta hues set the tone for a stylish escape. Descending to the lower level, a panoramic pool, framed by retro tile
motifs, stretches toward splendid Mediterranean views. During the day, the space offers a casual, laidback vibe; by night, it transforms into a sophisticated, elevated experience. In summary, a mix of retro glamour, unexpected details, and sunset aesthetics, this rooftop is a bold reimagination of classic ‘70s Mediterranean chic.
In conclusion, the design of all public spaces maintains a balance between preserving the building’s original architectural qualities and infusing it with a fresh, contemporary identity that remains deeply connected to the Mediterranean spirit. By seamlessly combining tradition with modern flair, the vision of EL EQUIPO CREATIVO for Kimpton Los Monteros celebrates Marbella’s artistic and architectural heritage, while offering guests a refined yet welcoming experience.

Following the successful roll out of the automated check-in “Mona AI” module, AK Techotel is looking to expand its market share even further with its recently redeveloped Picasso Digital Hotel Property Management System.
The next twelve to eighteen months should be the most exciting period for customers and employees of AK Techotel as more and more revolutionary modules are being developed and released, as Picasso Digital consolidates its position as the future of Hotel Property Management Systems.
Alistair Brown, National Sales Manager of AK Techotel in the UK says “With over 97% of hotel bookings now coming from online platforms, it is vital that the hotel is able to control bookings coming in, availability of rooms going out, whilst also limiting the amount of commission that is being paid”. With Picasso Marketing the hotel can direct traffic to its own website booking engine, paying zero percent commission and control exactly what rates are available, as the website booking is an integral component of the PMS. Alistair Brown continues “The release of the next generation booking engine is being rolled out as we speak, and with Picasso Digital being at the forefront of the development, I for one can’t wait”.

The CardsSafe system is designed to securely store customer credit, debit, and ID cards while the cardholder is running a tab. For over twenty years, CardsSafe has revolutionised how hospitality and leisure businesses manage customer tabs on or off their premises. Protecting assets, increasing customer spend and profits securely.
The system is super easy to use and requires minimal instruction, saving you time. It is not hardwired and does not capture any data. Our hospitality clients use it alongside existing point-of-sale systems, while our golf centre clients use it across their site to offer refreshments on the green.
It’s a fact that customers want their bank cards kept secure when they run a tab. Leaving a bank card in a till or folder is irresponsible and not good practice. Ensuring that customers’ cards are professionally handled while they enjoy a meal and drink should be a top priority.
Trust and a happy experience are the cornerstones of good customer service. Venues with bar tabs offer patrons a convenient way to enjoy multiple drinks and extra dishes without the hassle of constant payment. Staff spend more time building relationships and less time taking payments. A streamlined experience will ensure that customers spend more every time.
Deterring dine and dash will reduce losses and improve the bottom line. Implementing innovative technology can be a valuable ally in the fight against walkouts. Consider using CardsSafe. It’s the ideal deterrent for anyone contemplating walking out of your establishment without paying because their card is safely tucked behind the bar in a CardsSafe unit.
The hospitality industry thrives on creating memorable experiences. While a comfortable bed and a delicious meal are essential, exceptional customer service sets a business apart. In today’s world of instant reviews and social media buzz, providing topnotch service isn’t just a nice-to-have; it’s a must-have. Technology can be a powerful tool for enhancing customer service. The goal is to provide the customer with the best possible experience. Keeping track of bar tabs for food and drink bills will streamline the
staff-to-customer experience, allowing the team to upsell effectively. Customers who don’t have to reach for their wallets or cards regularly are more likely to make impulse purchases.
The beauty of CardsSafe is that it’s effective, easy to use and install, and incredibly affordable—it pays for itself!
Since 2003, CardSafe has been trusted by leisure and hospitality venues, ranging from local pubs like The Deers Hut in Hampshire to Lord’s, the home of cricket, and hotel chains such as Hilton Hotels, including The London Golf Club and Silvermere, which utilise CardSafe in their pro shops and restaurants.
One CardsSafe unit contains ten drawers that can hold ten customer bank cards. At just £9.95 per month, each hire includes customer service, troubleshooting, and free replacement keys. Additional units can be added at any time. A single £120 dine and dash incident is equivalent to one ten-card CardsSafe unit per year. With CardsSafe, the potential to prevent thousands of pounds of loss is significant.

No more lax labels –how labelling technology can help support customer safety and business reputation
Food outlets and catering providers understand the serious risks of food labelling errors – both to customers’ safety and a business’s reputation. To help prevent future hazards, there have been significant improvements to labelling standards in the industry.
Natasha’s Law, introduced in October 2021, has revolutionised the way food allergens are labelled on Pre-packaged for Direct Sale (PPDS) foods. While it has brought about positive changes, it also presents new challenges for industry workers as they strive to ensure ‘best practices’ are met and legal requirements are followed effectively.
Food outlets offering consumers PPDS food that is made on-site and packaged by the business, such as grab-and-go sandwiches or meals, must comply with Natasha’s Law by clearly displaying the food name, a full list of ingredients, and highlighting any allergens –which could be bolded or in another colour.
Failure to follow such rules could result in substantial fines or even criminal charges. To avoid penalties and maintain customer safety, businesses should implement effective and accurate labelling solutions.
Brother’s labelling solutions for PPDS foods allow food outlets and providers to produce high resolution labels. to help businesses meet regulations, streamline labelling process and give customers more confidence in their choices.
Café Common Ground is one such business benefitting from from Brother’s labelling solutions, after it started offering takeaway PPDS food for the first time. Brother’s TD-4520DN professional network desktop printer and free P-touch Editor software was the perfect solution for printing bespoke labels for ingredients and potential allergens as required by Natasha’s Law. The solution delivered fast, professional, and compliant labels that were easy to use.
Additionally, Brother’s stock rotation solution offers complete flexibility and can be integrated into existing digital services or used as a standalone solution with additional battery packs and touchscreen display units available.
As food labelling requirements continue to evolve, businesses should adopt flexible technology that can produce accurate, legible and cost-effective labels, to keep both customers and businesses safe.

At Alliance Online, we’ve always had our fingers on the pulse of the hospitality industry. As we move into 2025, three powerful trends are shaping the way businesses operate and engage with customers: the rise of environmentally conscious products, the explosion of experience-driven dining, and the growing popularity of Nikkei cuisine. Here’s what to expect and why these shifts matter more than ever.
1. Environmentally Conscious Products: Innovation Meets Responsibility
Sustainability is no longer a buzzword – it’s a business essential. As climate change accelerates and customer expectations evolve, the hospitality sector is under increasing pressure to reduce its environmental footprint. In 2025, we expect to see a wave of innovation in environmentally conscious products that combine performance, aesthetics, and sustainability.
From compostable takeaway containers to reusable tableware made from recycled materials, product development is being driven by a desire to reduce waste and conserve resources. Smart water-saving solutions, energy-efficient kitchen equipment, and biodegradable cleaning products are becoming the norm. At Alliance Online, we believe that embracing these innovations is not just an ethical choice but a strategic one – businesses that lead on sustainability are winning customer loyalty and achieving longterm cost savings.
2. Experiences & Themes: Dining as Entertainment
Gone are the days when good food alone was enough. In 2025, diners are seeking unique, immersive experiences that go beyond the plate. Themed restaurants and experiential dining venues are booming across the UK, transforming mealtimes into multi-sensory events.
Innovative concepts like Mama Mia! The Party, Park Row, and Alkatraz are blending storytelling, performance, and cutting-edge technology to create unforgettable dining experiences. Guests can find themselves at a prison-themed cocktail bar, a superhero-themed tasting menu, or even eating in pitch darkness at Dans Le Noir? to heighten their senses.
Multi-sensory dining – featuring projection mapping, scent diffusion, and theatrical elements – is also on the rise. Le Petit Chef, for instance, uses animation and storytelling to engage all five senses. Meanwhile, pop-up restaurants and seasonal supper clubs are adding an element of surprise and exclusivity.
The appeal of experience-led dining is clear: it’s highly shareable on social media, and diners are willing to spend more for memorable moments. With OpenTable reporting a 72% year-on-year rise in experience dining, this trend is one the industry can’t afford to ignore.
3. Nikkei Cuisine: The Future of Fusion Nikkei cuisine: born from the fusion of Japanese techniques and Peruvian ingredients – is poised to take the UK by storm in 2025. This bold, vibrant style of cooking balances umami, spice, and acidity, creating dishes that are both visually stunning and deeply flavourful.
Fuelled by social media and a growing appetite for authentic global flavours, Nikkei cuisine stands out as a sophisticated evolution of the fusion food trend. Chefs like Nobu Matsuhisa and Micha Tsumura have brought international acclaim to the style, and UK venues are following suit, offering Nikkei-inspired tasting menus and small plates.
This new wave of culinary fusion reflects a shift towards greater cultural awareness and respect for traditional techniques, delivering not only flavour but a story with every bite.
In 2025, the hospitality industry is evolving at an unprecedented pace. By embracing sustainability, elevating the dining experience, and exploring bold new flavours like Nikkei cuisine, businesses can stay ahead of the curve – and at Alliance Online, we’re here to support every step of the journey.

Does your hotel have Propress on its radar?
If not, it’s time to check Propress MINI, our handheld steamer, into your hotel. The Iron Age is over; there’s no need to clutter your guests’ storage space with a cumbersome iron and board.
Established in 1980, Propress is the original steaming brand supplying shops, soft furnishers, hotels, and resorts — removing creases in fabric wherever they appear. Our steamers are the highest-quality, longestlasting, and most reliable on the market.
In hotels, professional steamers have traditionally been used for housekeeping, banqueting and events, to provide a five-star freshening and anti-creasing touch to staff uniforms, curtains, tablecloths, and chair covers. (Steaming even kills bed bugs and their eggs almost immediately.)
Propress MINI can be used on a variety of clothing, from suits to dresses, and even delicate fabrics. It’s so versatile, it can be used vertically, for hanging fabric, or horizontally on bed linen and upholstery.
Guests often look to remove creases from clothes when unpacking or after a few days’ stay, especially those travelling for business or individuals attending events where wrinkle-free clothing is important.
Coupled with its ability to treat delicate materials, the Propress MINI is ready to go in just 45 seconds, making it a match made in heaven for wedding attendees. As the old saying goes: “Steam if you want to go faster!”
The Iron Age Is Over

The unpleasant, costly and often difficult to tackle subject of mould in hotels and the hospitality sector has had increased coverage in the media over the last couple of years. The gravity of this situation is endorsed by the recent UK enactment of Awaab’s Law, which mandates property and business owners must address damp and mould issues within 24 hours.
Pazco have forged a long and successful relationship with the Dutch leaders in surface hygiene, Inducoat. Pazco are the sole UK distributor for their antimould paint Inducoat Fungi, a proven one coat, 24-hour anti-mould solution.
The system is highly effective in a wide variety of situations, from bathrooms and ceilings, to walls and even woodwork, making it an ideal choice for the hotel and hospitality sectors. Inducoat Fungi anti-mould paint is proven in the fight against condensation and damp issues, offering long-term reliable protection against mould, and helps tackle the effects of a lack of ventilation.
Inducoat Fungi works by harnessing next-generation technology to actively combat mould. The paint’s advanced formula bonds a powerful blend of active ingredients directly to its molecules during production, ensuring a slow and sustained release that provides extended protection against mould
regrowth. It is particularly effective in environments prone to dampness and mould such as bathrooms, poorly ventilated rooms and kitchens in hotels.
Inducoat Fungi is a water dilutable product based on a styrene acrylic copolymer. The specialist advanced engineering techniques employed in its production minimize leaching, meaning that Inducoat Fungi maintains its effectiveness far longer than other mould-resistant paints. Typically, Inducoat Fungi remains active against mould for 5 years when applied properly.
Pazco supply and distribute Inducoat’s proven and cost-effective anti-mould paint system. Inducoat Fungi is the ONLY anti-mould coatings manufacturer to receive a CTGB number accreditation from the Dutch Board for the Authorisation of Plant Protection Products and Biocides. The paint is also tested to the highest European standard for antifungal coatings (EN15457) which enables hotels to comply with increasing regulations related to damp and mould.

Great hospitality businesses create memorable experiences, turning first-time guests into loyal patrons who encourage new visitors. This requires strategic management; balancing guest needs, maintaining luxurious spaces, and addressing challenges like tight budgets, staffing shortages, and operational efficiencies. With green consumerism increasing — 7/10 restaurant-goers and 78% of global travellers prioritising eco-friendly options — highlights sustainability’s growing importance. Balancing these elements is vital for the modern guest experience but complicated without the right partner.
Traditional, petrochemical-based cleaning products forces businesses to compromise sustainability and health goals for cleanliness. Older Ecotech solutions often had poor formulations, penalising businesses with eco-premiums for lower efficiency.
BioHygiene’s next-generation Biotech cleaning products offer sustainable solutions without compromises. Since 2016, they’ve assisted over 10,000 UK businesses in operations, sustainability, and costs.
Truly clean spaces enhance customer satisfaction and encourage return visits. Yet, traditional chemicals mask odours, demand more labour, and leave sticky residues that can mislead guests about cleanliness. BioHygiene utilises synergistic Biotech/Ecotec to tackle dirt, grime, and grease. These solutions elevate cleanliness while reducing cleaning intensity for high-traffic areas by removing organic matter and odours at the source, protecting surfaces with a natural biofilm, leaving no sticky residues—achieving the best cleanliness experience.
BioHygiene’s core products cover 80% of cleaning needs, simplifying stock management and streamlining operations. The residual cleaning effects reduce cleaning time, enhancing productivity - freeing up resources to enhance the guest experience. Efficient with cold water and no-rinse formulas, these products help cut utility costs. Addressing high staff turnover, BioHygiene’s low-hazardous formulas reduce risk, enhancing staff safety and making product training and compliance easier. Additionally, their reliable UK supply chain offers peace of mind despite societal challenges.
BioHygiene’s sustainable ingredients reduce overall environmental impact from cutting CO2e from their technology to reducing aquatic toxicity. High-concentration formulas cut CO2 emissions in transport and significantly reduce plastic waste with less packaging - these products help businesses meet environmental goals.
Traditional products harm the health and safety of users, causing headaches, allergic reactions, and respiratory issues equivalent to smoking 20 cigarettes a day. They also release VOCs, major contributors to indoor air pollution, which can trigger health effects for guests, and can have long-term health implications on staff. BioHygiene’s blend of Biotech/Ecotech ingredients ensures a safer environment. The formulas, once diluted, are non-hazardous, showing a business’s commitment to all levels of health and safety for staff and guests.
