Sire/Dam

Breeder Dog

Banjo Boy litter THIS week’s review of litters on the Victorian Litter Registrations list for the week ending 22 September, starts with a litter of seven pups by successful sire Banjo Boy (April 2011 Vee Man Vane x Off Springer). She won over 460 metres at Warragul (27.02) and her record shows several good placings over 520 metres at Cranbourne and placings over 525 metres at The Meadows and 520 metres at Geelong, so her record could have looked a lot better with just a little more luck in running on a few occasions. She has eight named offspring on file from two previous litters, with two named in the first litter, whelped in January 2014, bu Hutmaker, then several handy winners on file from her second itter, whelped in November 2014, by Premier Boloney. OUTSTANDING stud success, Fernando Bale increased his lead on the NSW Metropolitan Sires List at the end of September, by one win, after his offspring won eight races at the four meetings held after track repairs had been completed in September. Fernando Bale had 8 wins for the month, Barcia Bale 7, Fabregas 3 and Dyna Double One, Bekim Balem and Kinloch Brae had two each. Fernando Bale now has a lead of 14 wins over Barcia Bale on the Nsw list and with three months racing left the 2018 result is far from clear. - 13 -

Million Chase next after Simple Adelaide success

Copley’s Corner Fields announced for 2018 TAB Topguns By George Farrugia The final fields for the Group 1 TAB Topgun and the Group 2 TAB Stayers Topgun have been released in what promises to be a huge night of racing at The Meadows on October 27. Champion sprinter Up Hill Jill will attempt to become the first greyhound to win back-to-back Topguns after a stirring victory in last year’s event. Victory this year will push the black chaser’s prizemoney to over $1 million, joining fellow seven-figure chasers Fanta Bale, Fernando Bale and Dyna Double One. Trainer David Geall also trains first emergency My Redeemer – a half brother to Up Hill Jill. Peacedale trainer Seona Thompson will prepare two Topgun finalists, including recent Adelaide Cup winner Real Simple and Million Dollar Chase finalist Poke The Bear (pictured). Real Simple surged into Topgun contention after a brilliant Adelaide Cup victory, while Poke The Bear highlighted why he’s rated as one of the best chasers in the land with a Best of Night 29.66 victory at Wentworth Park. Dyna Patty, West On Augie, Hecton Bale, Trouper Monelli and Hasten Slowly round off the six Topgun finalists out of champion chaser Fernando Bale, who won the race back in 2015. The Group 2 TAB Stayers Topgun looks to be the most open in years after brothers Tornado Tears and Rippin’ Sam succumbed to injury before invites were sent out. Trainer Rob Britton will now go into the final with Barcali after the withdrawal of litter brother Benali. Ebby Ripper will line up in her second Stayers Topgun after finishing fourth in last year’s version behind Bogie Bekim. The Michael Eberand-trained chaser will race in her 92nd start and 16th at Group level. Billy’s Bake – now trained by Brett Bravo – will also race in consecutive Group 2 Stayers Topgun events – with the son of Barcia Bale and Evie’s Entity placed in the Group 3 Destini Fireball stayers behind Tornado Tears at The Meadows. Dyna Chaser – a greyhound with a fantastic record at The Meadows – will be looking to give trainer Correy Grenfell has first Group win as a trainer. The box draws for both finals will take place this Saturday on trackS and will be streamed live on Facebook.

This is my girls digging and hunting place. Lilly as you can see loves to rest here.. the plants around the side is where Kimmy can hunt .. This is a win win for me.. Give all my dogs something to do Bernadina Marriot

Marnie is a little worn out today , had a bbq here yesterday and it really takes it out of a girl being cute and getting attention all day . She was so good though , didn’t harass people while they were eating and I had all the food spread out on the kitchen bench and didn’t try to touch it once . Did try to “ help “ prepare by pushing her needle nose between me and the bench
