Southern Trials - Reopening after Covid - Where are we? Looking for a ride?

Trials clubs are slowly finding their way through the advice from the ACU and AMCA advice to provide club members with opportunities to ride both practice and more recently competitive trials riding. Most clubs are offering rides to their club members only but the proactive clubs are now starting to widen their horizons offering rides open to centre. Normally riders join an individual club to take part in the club championship, often near to their home to keep travel down, however in these unusual times there is nothing stopping riders applying to join several different clubs to find a ride. These are the known opportunities for practice and competitive rides in our area in August, look for details on the ACU, AMCA and club websites and facebook pages. 2nd August - Waterside JMCC Practice Trial 5th August - XHG Tigers MCC Summer Series Trial 9th Aug - Waltham Chase Trials MCC Practice Trial 9th August - Bognor & District MCC South Coast Group Trial 15th August - Mortimer Classic MCC Classic Fun Trial 15th August - Owls MCC - Practice Trial 16th August - Bridport and Weymouth MCC John Poate Trial 19th August - XHG Tigers MCC

Summer Series Trial 23rd August - Normandy MCC - August Club Trial 28th, 29th, 30th August - Waltham Chase Trials MCC - Camping Weekend - including three trials! Future events currently known Waterside JMCC Practice Trials 6th September, 4th October, 1st November, 6th December Waltham Chase Trials MCC 13th September - Alan Sansom Trial 11th October - George Greenland Trophy Trial Mortimer Classic MCC - 17th October - Fun trial 21st November - Fun Trial Ringwood MCC - Trial - 20th September, 1st November - Perce Simon Other Events There will be a decision on 31st July regarding Salisbury and District MCC’s Arbuthnot Trial. The Perce Simon Reunion planned for the beginning of September has been cancelled until 2021. STOP PRESS: Waltham Chase ran their first competitive trial at Woodberry Lane Rowlands Castle The Keith Marshall Classic Trial with over 60 entrants plenty of room and 15 excellent sections - full report in the next issue (the results sheets are in quarantine for 2 days delaying the report).

Hampshire MX Club

Hampshire Motocross Club in normal times have a packed programme of events taking in many circuits in the South of England with a Summer Series and Winter Series with packed entries for adult classes and 85cc big and small wheel machines. They are providing regular practice sessions on the excellent West Meon Track for Adults and 85cc riders. The club is doing an excellent job and their next session is Sunday 9th August - see the club website http://www.hampshire-motocrossclub.co.uk/Main%20Pages/Events.htm and the club facebook page for details. Riders of all abilities are taking up the option including several top riders Taylor Hammal and Charlie Cole who of the British MX Championship soon. have taken advantage of these sessions to get in some training with the hope of a resumption 28
