FROM THE EDITOR'S CHAIR

John Bramall writes... I have known Bob Twigg for many years, a life-long trials and motorcycling enthusiast, a career more or less contemporary with my own similar Endeavours, a great supporter of the South Midland Centre and a Member of the Centre Board for many years. My experience of South Midland Centre Clubs and events is limited, but I can remember South Midland Grass Tracks at Cassiobury Park, Watford. I think it possible that Bob would have attended these kind of events, I like to think so, I hope he would have had as much fun and comradeship as I did. In more recent years, there would have been the John Underwood grass track, which became a National event for several years, and the Hayes and Southall Club became British Masters promoters around this time. Although I have known Bob for many years, our opportunities to meet up were limited, due to geography: and distance: Bob was a committed motorcyclist right to the end of his life and I am sure would have had much fun and comradeship as I have enjoyed over many years. The last time I met up with Bob at Brooklands just before the Lock Down, together with TSM Overall Editor Andy Wood, and the three of us had a very convivial Lunch. Andy Wood writes... When Bob joined the TSM team it was evident we had gained the services of a lifelong, committed enthusiast. The few times that John and I met up with Bob the conversations would invariably cover thoughts and experiences of recent events. Clearly, as well as any official duties he was involved in, many often required some additional help and advice, which was all part of the job as far as he was concerned. Like many he had accepted the changes that had taken place in motorcycling activities over the years but nevertheless was always keen to pass on his valuable knowledge and experiences to a younger generation. For me, that showed in the articles and news that came our way for publication. Bob saw that the passing on of others news, experiences and enjoyment, to be of interest and value to a newer generation. We hope others will see this as a worthwhile and rewarding challenge. Bumper Feast of Classic Motocross Begins Q By Andy Withers The AMCA/ CDB British Classic MX Championship celebrated it's 25th Anniversary in 2021 and this year Dave Gittins is working with Emma Partington who will be taking over the lead role in running the championship for 2023. To mark the new era a committee of fifteen riders, organisers and enthusiasts are working together to raise the profile of the championship in 2023 including some stand alone championship events. The 2022 championship is following the traditional pattern of machine age grouped classes, Pre60, Pre65, Pre68 and Pre74, although some different formats will be experimented with in club meetings and a possible one off stand alone championship meeting will be held later in the year. Bath Classic MCC host a round of the 2022 championship with regs already available from the club. To take part in the championship races riders need to be registered. Details are on the British Classic Motocross Championship facebook page. Bath's Yatton Keynall circuit is a grassy hillside circuit which is only used once

Simon & Joe Chell a year and it will include an extra loop this year after some winter preparation by the club. The meeting has a range of classic classes including the championship races and one twinshock group if there is space on the programme. Continued overleaf 11
