THE ROYAL CONSERVATORY’S
MISSION IS TO DEVELOP HUMAN POTENTIAL
We have been educating Canadians since 1886 from coast to coast to coast as well as at our three schools in Toronto with a curriculum that is considered to be the gold standard in music education. Our students have gone on to become some of the world’s most recognized and respected performers and teachers in diverse musical genres, as well as leaders in nearly every field imaginable, from Canadian Supreme Court justices and world-renowned scientists to groundbreaking entrepreneurs and community visionaries.
We are also one of Canada’s top concert presenters because of Koerner Hall – one of the top acoustic halls in the world and home to 75 community partners creating a vibrant arts and culture landscape.
Advancing the transformative power of music through a rich educational tradition, with its proven social and cognitive benefits, lies at the heart of everything we do.
WE ARE AS CANADIAN AS... BRYAN ADAMS

AN EVENING WITH BRYAN ADAMS THE ROYAL OCCASION 2026
The Royal Occasion is the RCM’s annual signature fundraising event and is a significant source of funding for the RCM’s numerous educational and performance initiatives including the Oscar Peterson Program which provides tuition-free music education to underserved youth in Toronto and the 21C Festival which presents “newly-minted” music.
Always a magnificent and superbly-organized event, we are trying to reimagine and reinvent it – similar to your proposed recordings of sea shanties.
“An Evening with Bryan Adams … Sea Shanties and Anthologies” could take place in the Spring of 2026 – subject to your availability.
You would be inducted as an Honorary Fellow of The Royal Conservatory followed by your performance of sea shanties and other songs. You would be backed by the Royal Conservatory Orchestra and other collaborators that the RCM would arrange in consultation with you.
This event presents a wonderful opportunity to workshop your new recordings while supporting Canada’s leader in music education. We would also be thrilled to offer recording space and/or film the event as promotional material for the recording.
This performance could also be used as the model for a global tour. We would be thrilled to connect your team with our extensive network of other orchestras and cultural institutions around the world.
YOUR VENUE
KOERNER HALL
Koerner Hall is Toronto’s acoustically superb concert hall designed in the tradition of Europe’s great concert venues with elegant ambience. With extensive technical and AV capabilities and Toronto’s best production team, Koerner Hall offers an unparalleled concert and presentation experience.

YOUR COLLABORATORS THE
ROYAL CONSERVATORY ORCHESTRA AND OTHERS
The Royal Conservatory Orchestra (RCO), comprised of orchestral students at the RCM’s degree-granting Glenn Gould School, is considered one of the best training orchestras in North America with graduates winning roles with top orchestras around the world. The RCO has been called the “Ferrari of Young Orchestras” by Sir Georg Solti Conducting Award winner, Earl Lee, and their sold-out Carnegie Hall debut in May 2024 received a rave review by The Toronto Star.
Other collaborators could be pulled from the RCM’s schools (choirs of kids and/or adults), our network of alumni (e.g. Pressgang Mutiny or The Bills) and/or our connections to cultural groups such as Choir, Choir, Choir or Tafelmusik.
“Koerner Hall has to be the best acoustic hall in the world.”
