MSMBC Mission Statement

The divine mission of the Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church is to be a positive and effective witness, corporately and individually, for our Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 1:8). We are called to win lost souls unto the Lord through preaching the gospel, and to build up and to mature believing souls through preaching, teaching, prayer and fellowship.

Greetings! “Thanks, be unto God for His unspeakable gift” (2 Cor. 9:15). God’s unspeakable gift to mankind is our Savior, Jesus the Christ, the LORD. He, and He alone, is the ultimate answer to reaching lost mankind. Grace and peace be bestowed upon each of you from the Lord.

Spring has sprung! Well, there may be some questions about that proclamation, but according to the calendar, such is the case. Our weather recently has seemed quite unusual. However, this April we celebrate the 126th anniversary of Mount Sinai’s church life as a Christian fellowship. We have asked one of our Gospel Sons, Pastor DeChard Freeman, of Abundant Life Church to be our preacher. It will truly be a “family affair.” This celebration will happen on the 13th, the second Sunday at the 11 O’clock hour. The Anniversary Committee is working hard to make the experience be the very best. The life of this fellowship is a testament to the faithfulness and great grace of the Lord toward Mount Sinai. This April we will commemorate the Seven Last Words uttered by the Savior upon the cross. That will be Good Friday, the 18th, beginning at 11am. Come and remember the agonizing suffering the Lord endured for our salvation. Oh, what a price He paid!

But the suffering in agony on that Friday was conquered by the Resurrection on the following Sunday morning. The reality of the resurrection emboldened the disciples to stand publicly before men, of which they recently feared, and declare that Jesus who was crucified on Friday was alive on Sunday, and alive for evermore. Jesus had proven Himself to be the Lord over death and the grave. The victory of Jesus is now promised to all who will believe in Him. Believers in the Lord do not have to fear men or death any longer. Jesus has taken the sting from death, and He has robbed the grave of its victory.

Rejoice, believers in the Lord who can do all things. Be at peace with whatever life brings into your life. Be assured that nothing in this life can defeat the sons and daughters of God. And if anyone is grieving the loss of a loved one this season, let that believer know that God has purposed that all believers will one day be joined together in unbroken fellowship in glory. We are reminded of this glorious truth every time we remember Resurrection Sunday!

God be with each of you, and may you experience His blessings to the overflowing. Amen.

Have you ever been tired? Have you ever been tired of being tired?? This is not just physically tired but emotionally and even sometimes spiritually tired. Tired of doing what is right when the world glorifies what is wrong. Tired of being quiet when the world screams. Tired of turning the other cheek when the world comes after you time after time. Tired of taking the high road when the world goes low. Just plain old tired!!! Psalm 42:11 (NIV) states, “Why, my soul, are you downcast? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior, and my God.”

Well, now is not the time to give in to that tiredness. Now is not the time to stop doing what is right. The world may be glorifying what’s wrong, but we have been called to be light in this dark world. God will give us all we need to stand in this crazy world.

Isaiah 61:3 (NIV) states, “And provide for those who grieve in Zion, to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.”

The world wants to break us down and keep adding grief upon our shoulders but that is just the enemy trying to distract us. 1 Peter 5:8 (NIV) states, “Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.” Just know that all we are dealing with has a higher purpose than what we can see now. Don’t let your tiredness stop what God is doing in your life and through your life. Get some rest, relax but don’t get tired. Don’t let your tiredness steal your joy in the Lord.

The purpose of worship is to ascribe glory to God, to honor Him in the excellence of His being, in the beauty of His Holiness.

Take some tome to hide God’s Word in your heart in order to shape the way you meditate on the wonder of Worship.

“Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear. For our God is a consuming fire.” Hebrews 12:28-29 (NKJV)

To God be the Glory!

The Abigail Circle recently had an outreach at the Sedona Trace Senior Facility located next door to the church. The Circle collected, prepared, and delivered 100 gift bags to the residents, that included sweets, treats, and toiletries on March 20th. We also included information about the church and the ministries available. The Circle also donated children's snacks for the class of Sister Zo Mays. We meet each 1st and 3rd Monday after bible study. Sis. Sharlette Maney is the Circle Chair. Sis. Jackie Robertson is the Senior Mission President.
