The divine mission of the Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church is to be a positive and effective witness, corporately and individually, for our Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 1:8). Greetings! “Thanks, be unto God for His unspeakable gift” (2 Cor. 9:15). God’s unspeakable gift to mankind is our Savior, Jesus the Christ, the LORD. He, and He alone, is the ultimate answer to reaching lost mankind. Grace and peace be bestowed upon each of you from the Lord.
It is my pleasure to write a few lines unto you, members and friends. We have come into the month of May, the fifth month of the year. Even now, at its beginning I want to thank the Lord for His grace given into my life. He has blessed me to live to experience my senior years. He has brought me from humble beginnings to levels of respect and honor which I could not have achieved by my own efforts alone. He has granted me favor. Bless His name.
The patterns and practices in this world are understood to derive from the mindset and thoughts of unsaved humankind. The center of the thoughts and mindset of unsaved humankind is selfishness. James (4:1) says conflicts and wars which manifest in the world, and among believers, are found in the lusts residing within our hearts. Black people are persecuted and abused because there is the feeling within the Majority people of superiority, and entitlement.
My anger is especially stirred when Majority believers twist and pervert the Word of God to justify their ill treatment of those who are different from them. I cannot believe that God is pleased when any group minimizes our common humanity. When whole groups are demonized and portrayed as enemies without any recognition of the shared divine image. All persons are created in the image of God. God never created classes of human beings to be ranked and rated greater than others.
There is but one heaven above where all true believers, regardless of physical description will go. There is but one hell to which all non-believers, regardless of physical description, will go. How is it that Majority believers, who read and study the same Bible, can be comfortable with segregating the minority groups away from their spaces? It defies logic and reason.
I believe far too many are blinded by their selfishness which, according to the gospel, is the first challenge to be met by any Christ-follower (Matt. 16:24). This is the challenge which was met and overcome by the good Samaritan, as Jesus told the story. He forgot about his ethnic and racial selfishness and sought out how to help a man who had fallen among thieves (Lk. 10:25-37).

The Story Behind the Hymn “Great Is Thy Faithfulness”: The Legacy of a Famous Hymn
On an ordinary day in 1923, Thomas Chisholm scribbled out the poem, Great Is Thy Faithfulness.
Passed from friend to friend, to composer, to publisher, to evangelist, and eventually to the countless people in church pews well past the time of Thomas’ death, this short, simple song became world-famous.
This man and his four stanzas provide us with a remarkable illustration of God’s Word in the book of 2 Corinthians, when he tells us, “My power is made perfect in weakness” (2 Corinthians 12:9 ESV).
Thomas Chisholm was not out to win the world or make a splash. He didn’t go to college, failed to finish out his preaching ministry due to illness, and worked an ordinary job as an insurance agent.
Thomas just enjoyed writing poetry based on what he learned from the Bible. He was an ordinary man, who delighted in the extraordinarily powerful words of Scripture. He wrote over 1200 poems.
Thomas delighted in artfully repeating the very words of Scripture, in this case, the prophet Jeremiah’s words from Lamentations, which say,
The steadfast love of the Lord never ceases; his mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.
(Lamentations 3:22-23 ESV)
The perseverance and prominence of the hymn Great Is Thy Faithfulness throughout the last century can only be accredited to the power of God’s Word, which does not need strong people to defend it, only faithful men and women to love it and proclaim it.

According to the dictionary, the word sought means to go in search of. To go out seeking for something or someone. When trials and tribulations come into your life, are you seeking God? Are you seeking friends and family first and then seeking God? Is God your first thought or your afterthought? Isaiah 55:6(NIV) states, “Seek the Lord while he may be found; call on him while he is near.”
In all aspects of our lives, we need to be seeking God. Are you only seeking God when the clouds come, or do you only seek Him when the sun shines? I am here to tell you that God is the same God during the storm that He is when the sun shines. God is the same whether we are happy, sad, up, or down. God never changes. Hebrews 13:8(NIV) states, “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” In everything, we should be seeking God. If you need to seek God in the midnight hour, He is there. If you need to seek God at the graveside, He is there. If you need to seek God on your job or in your home, He is there. God is waiting on us to seek Him. Psalm 105:4(NIV) states, “Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always.”
No one knows your story better than God. God knew the ending of your story before your story even began. You can trust God to handle any and everything you go through. All of your fears and doubts, God can handle. Psalm 34:4(NIV) states, “I sought the Lord, and he answered me, he delivered me from all my fears.” Friends and family may mean well but they can lead you astray. God will never lead you off track. You can trust God. Have you sought the Lord?

“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. For by it the elders obtained a good report.”

“And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove
hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.”
“I trust in God. I know He cares for me, on mountain peak or on the stormy sea, tho billows roll He keeps my soul. My Heavenly Father watches over me.”
To God be the Glory!
