PRESIDENT'S NOTE

Wrapping up the last month of the 23-24 term! March has been busy and full of training new officers and preparing for DCON.

With a secure officer board, we have been making sure to build the best officers to make an improved club for our members. We have over 10 members attending DCON this year where they will be able to meet new people, improve their leadership skills, and get away from school for a weekend. We hope this term was good for all members and can’t wait to see what the next term will have for you guys!

EDITOR'S NOTE

Hi Monrovia Key Club! This is my last newsletter as this term is coming to an end. It’s really crazy to think about how fast not only this term went by but also the school year. We have only 2 months of school left until summer arrives! Anyways DCON is right around the corner and I am so hyped since I’m going with a few friends! Last year when I attended DCON I had one of the best times in my life meeting new people and making new friends. This year we have a special performer attending as well to perform and I am so excited because it’s someone who’s songs I’ve liked for over 2 years. Rocco is performing at DCON so the price of DCON is worth it even more.

MARCH 2024

STEMSTERS

On March 1st 2024, Monrovia Key Club had our partnership with the STEMSTERS organization. We taught the students how wells work and after going through the lesson the students got to work on a hands on project building their own interpretation of the well, which would then be tested with little erasers to see if their buckets could hold the weight.

STEMSTERS

On March 15th 2024, Monrovia Key Club’s partnership with the STEMSTERS organization occurred yet again for the second time past month. This STEM based project was on rollercoasters where we have our normal lesson teaching the children how rollercoasters work and then we helped out with different groups of students. Where we passed out materials and aided them with ideas or help when creating their rollercoaster. It was a great time interacting with young students and being able to see how their brains work when creating their rollercoasters and their thought process.

MARCH DCM

On March 17th 2024, Monrovia key clubbers had an enjoyable time at the March DCM skating for PTP which stands for Pediatric Trauma Prevention. It was the last DCM of the term as well as a combined region 13 event. It was fun to see many new faces and even make new friends from other divisions as well as seeing other friends made from Key club. Monrovia key club skated for about 3 hours. It was a great way to end off the term with not only our division but region.

OPEN HOUSE

On March 20th 2024, Monrovia Key Club had our school’s open house where we had a club table out trying to fundraise money for our school’s club. Our table had COSTCO pizza and soda’s. We were able to sell out all of our items raising about 90$. It was a great time outreaching to incoming freshmen and those who are already in our school that might not know what key club is all about.

Hi guys I know that I already have an editor’s note but I just wanted to express my extended gratitude in being your 2023-2024 year term Historian! I have learned so much about responsibility and gained more knowledge on graphic design from creating all of these newsletters. I am beyond grateful for all of the Seniors who have helped me through out this year in guiding me to becoming a better officer. Joining Key Club is one of those club’s that if you are really devoted and actively participate in it you realize how much you gain from friendships to amazing memories all while serving the community. Although I enjoyed being your Historian my time is over and I will now be your President. Lastly to those of you that actually read my newsletters thank you very much it means a lot!
