February has been an exciting month for Monrovia Key Club! We have had a number of STEM based volunteer opportunities with local middle schools and high schools, allowing our members to engage in the community and provide their aid and support. We also started looking for officers for the upcoming term. It has been an exciting process and we hope to train them well as the future of the club is in their hands. March will be a busy month with DCON and officer training so we hope to make the most of it!

Hey Monrovia Key Club! February was an eventful month for our club with new elections for our 24-25 year! I have officially been elected as our upcoming term for President which is exciting and I hope that I can lead well and grow our club’s membership this upcoming term! This school year is going to fly by so fast and DCON is arriving quick. Also side news but I am so excited that Rocco is going to perform at DCON I love his songs so much and can’t wait to see him in person. Hope you all stay happy and safe.

CONCLAVE

On February 4th 2024, the people were hustling with excitement for the 2024-2025 LTG election! The election room was filled with chatter and with one hit from the gavel, the room was silenced, as the election process began. All of the candidates gave amazing yet insightful speeches, yas the final decisions were placed in the hands of the delegates. Monrovia had 2 delegates, and so did other clubs. The delegate’s job was to listen to each of the speeches, asking questions to further their knowledge on the candidates that would be our upcoming LTG’s. In the end, our amazing Isabella Cardenas won the election and will now be our LTG for this upcoming term.

STEMSTERS

On February 16th 2024, Monrovia Key Club had it’s second partnership with the STEMSTERS organization where we helped out by teaching students at Neo a hands on STEM based project. From students at Arcadia high guiding the lesson to students from Monrovia there to advise and help out any of the children who needed aid or supplies. We all worked together teaching children from Neo how trampolines worked and had the kids group up building the trampolines to later be tested in front of the whole class. It was a great way for the children to be creative in their creations while learning to work as a team!

FEBRUARY DCM

On February 25th 2024, Monrovia key clubbers had an enlightening experience seeing other sealies and the D35E ellies in the same place together! The elephants had just finished making their cards and the seals splashed in and started their bracelet-making. These bracelets made would later go towards the “Bracelet Exchange”, event at DCON which is inspired by a tradition done at Taylor Swift’s concerts. Overall it was an amazing experience accompanied with delicious chocolate strawberries, nice sunny weather, and friends.

IMPROVING YOUR LIFE

4. Getting 8-9 hours of sleep

5. Drinking a cup of water first thing in the morning

6. Participate in some sort of physical activity daily
