Dr Sharon Belmo is a London based Consultant Dermatologist with specialist interests in skin of colour and hair loss. She has a particular interest in Afro-textured hair. Dr Belmo has undergone ethnic skin and hair fellowships in both Paris and the United States of America and is medical advisor to the Scarring Alopecia Foundation U.K. CCCA support group. She is the cofounder and clinical lead of the Centre of Evidence Based Dermatology Skin of Colour Resource, in which she launched in 2016. Dr Belmo has also written the first dermatology for skin of colour syllabus for U.K. dermatology specialist training, setting a precedence for future dermatologists’ experience and training in darker skin tones. She continues to be a passionate advocate for diversity in medicine.
