Dr. Manuel Aranda, Jr. A proud Sun City native with an uncommonly lengthy tenure in emergency medicine, Dr. Manuel Aranda, Jr. has worked in virtually every ER in town. A Coronado High School graduate, he attended the California Institute of Technology for a B.S. in Molecular Biology, followed up by an M.D. from the University of California, San Francisco in 1994. He returned to his beloved hometown to undergo his residency in emergency medicine at former Thomason Hospital, now University Medical Center. For 22 years strong, Aranda has stayed true to the field of emergency medicine. The trend in Texas healthcare for free-standing emergency centers as opposed to hospital-based ERs has, basically, revitalized his purpose. Aranda explains that because of this recent evolution, “We’re not as busy anymore, and can give more individual attention and personal care.” (Ironically, he expected the latter early in his career only to see it in later years.) Between the Hospitals of Providence and both full-service Neighbors Emergency Centers, he enjoys time with his wife and children, and avidly plays the stock market. Of course, we also know that Aranda‘s GREAT at caring for the community he loves and the residents he serves! Dr. Manuel Aranda Jr. Neighbors Emergency Center 1540 N.
