Campo El Delgadito

Recorrimos 96 kilómetros al sur de San Ignacio en busca de David Borbón Ramirez para conocer más sobre los manglares; es habitante de El Delgadito, después de descubrir la importancia del manglar para la biodiversidad, entre otros atributos tiene un alto grado de salinidad, se propuso una restauración ecológica para conservar, forestar y reforestar estos bosques acuáticos. Con un grupo de vecinos y su familia ha logrado inocular más de 560 mil plantas de mangle.

Se han dado a la tarea de aprender técnicas de plantación para cultivar ejemplares sanos que mantengan con vida este ecosistema que incuba especies marinas comerciales y no comerciales. Otros ofcios en esta pequeña aldea pesquera son la granja de ostiones, langosta, almeja pismo y gran variedad de peces. La economía depende de la venta de estos productos alimenticios.

En El Delgadito respirarás la pureza del aire al caminar por las extensas playas, cuando la marea sube, se produce una ilusión de espejo al refejar el cielo.

We traveled 96 kilometers south of San Ignacio in search of David Borbón Ramrez to learn more about mangroves. He is a member of this community and has dedicated himself to conserving, aforesting, and reforesting these aquatic forests after learning about the signifcance of these plants for biodiversity. In addition, he has inoculated more than 560,000 mangrove seedlings with the assistance of his residential community and his family.

They have learned planting techniques to grow healthy specimens throughout the years. These planting techniques will keep this ecosystem that incubates commercial and non-commercial marine species alive.

Oyster, lobster, Pismo clam, and a variety of fsh farming are among other commercial enterprises conducted in this modest fshing community. The economy is dependent on the sale of these food products.

As you stroll along the expansive beaches of El Delgadito, where the tide rises to create the appearance of a mirror refecting the sky, you will breathe in the freshness of the air.
