As a 2021 Best-in-Class honoree, what are your words of wisdom for the next generation of real estate agents?
Why did you decide to get into real estate?
Keep. Going. Some days you will feel like you didn’t accomplish anything, and some days you will feel on top of the world. Either way, keep going.
At the age of 5, I would sit and look at the homes for sale in the Sunday paper. I told my mom that I was going to do hair during the day and sell homes at night. Directly out of high school, I went to beauty school and started my career as a cosmetologist, which lasted the next 11 years. Ten years into my career, and after my now-husband pushed me into my lifelong dream of real estate, I finally took the leap and got my license. A year later, my husband and I moved out to Michigan. I knew I wanted to pursue real estate full-time, but I needed the right environment to thrive in. What does success mean to you?
Being self-aware of my shortcomings to realize what is holding me back from being my best self and working relentlessly on it.

If I can explain: I’ve had many people judge me, fellow agents included, for my appearance — I’m very tall and very blonde — and for how I’m always giggling and smiling. This was something I thought I had to tone down in this industry. Once I realized being my genuine self was all it took, the rest was history. Something you can’t live without? Cheese!
