The development of Teen Challenge work
Why we need to develop TC Šluknov center has been being developed since 1997 and gradually more than 500 men addicted to drugs and alcohol have gone through it. Most of them heard the Good News for the first time. With regard to our aim which is building the impact on local community together with the city we have been building other services. A significant part of the center is its business division www.tcprofi.com, which has been successfully developing its activities for more than 10 years. The turnover in the recent years has been more than 10 million Kč (400 000 USD). In this way we could help many students to get qualifications and work habits and some of them have also become a high qualified company employees and volunteers in TC Šluknov at the same time (as streetworkers or helpers in the center). Part of the profit was used to support other people in need, above all in cooperation with Nehemia and building mission projects. Project „Factory“ is the result of the previous time of prayers and seeking how to enable further development of the activities in Teen Challenge. We believe in mission given to us by God to share Good News and we want to grow in it. We believe that the purchase of the factory and the land in the center of Šluknov for 2 200 000 Kč (90 000 USD ) is a great opportunity for further development.
Project „Factory“ - vision Our aim is to build gradually the place where there apart from the business activities we will be able to build in the future a home base for the TC work, for the church – place where people can find help and Jesus Christ. We are talking about a long term investments and we believe in its gradual increase in the value. The creation of a good environment for the TC Šluknov a www.tcprofi.com is the key for: - TC financial stability in the future. Based on our experience from the past we know that we are able to reconstruct gradually our premises thanks to gradual gaining of our own funds in a business work and the support of our givers. In the same way we built the center in Šluknov, mostly from our own sources and thanks to work by our program students but also Czech and foreign church volunteers. The project realization would enable us to gain the independence from one partner and would extend our the business opportunities. - Building a place for a therapeutic consulting outpatient center for drug and alcohol addicts situated near the city center. - Building start-up apartments for the students in the program. - Building a home base for the church activities directly in the city center, opportunity to serve people near the city center -Creating a place especially for young students from the local schools for their free-time activities, extending the place for the child center, building a place for a maternity center and a low-threshold sport center. - Building a „Thrift Store“ and a „coffee shops“– to open a shop with recycled furniture, toys and clothes in the cooperation with the partner TC in the Netherlands and Denmark. It would enable us to cover the running expenses and the Thrift Store together

Historical context TC Profi has gone through a significant development. In the beginning it was taking part in the business activities of a different partner. Thanks to growing experience and quality of work they became a key part in the partner´s projects, especially in the metal and glass production (for example ship chandeliers). Part of the business is also a constructing activity which enabled to reconstruct the partner´s factory. A big change of the factory after a gradual reconstruction can be seen in the following pictures. This experience is one of the key conditions for a successful work in the presented “Factory project”. As to the difficulties we have to face in the cooperation with the current partner who rents the premises it is crutial for us to get our own place.

Project „Factory“ – the building The factory building is situated 300 metres from the Šluknov city center. The selling price is 2 200 000 Kč (90 000 USD). The total size of the land is 6 000 m2, it is 3 000 m2 - build up area, 3 000 m2 – handling area. The building has 2 main parts. The single-storey building has 1 500 m2 and needs broad bulding repairs because of leaking. The four-storey building (size of one storey- 700 m2) is in a good shape, no need for big building repairs. It will be necessary to reconstruct the sanitary facilities, to make sectional roof and eaves repairs, part of electricity, new heating system in the operating part of the building.
