The Scouts Tasmania Branch applied for, and were successful in receiving a grant that allowed our organisation to update beds, toilets and other amenities in our Scout Centre over January.

As the Lea is widely used by the community, several parties including schools, Mosaic and ParaQuad amongst others were consulted to ensure as many communities as possible would benefit from the grant.

Nic Street, Minister for Sport and Recreation joined Nigel Clutterbuck, President of Scouts Tasmania, along with Phil Harper, Chief Commissioner for Scouts Tasmania, to inspect the improvements that were undertaken through the grant from the Tasmanian Government.

All individuals and communities involved, including Scouts Tasmania as a whole, are greatly appreciative towards the local Government and the ParaQuad Association of Tasmania Inc for all of their support. Scouts Tasmania also Thanks Nic Street for his involvement in the arrangement.

We couldn’t have made this improvement without the grant and can’t wait to share these new facilities with the public.

“Scouts Tasmania approached us before heading down the path of making accessibility improvements at their property south of Hobart. We offered some on-site advice, and the results meant, now more people will be able to use its accommodation, meeting rooms and activity facilities.”
