NEW YEAR, NEW YOU Around this time of the year, everyone feels moved to give back. We feel it too. It’s why giving back is always a big focus of our endof-year issue, starting with our cover. You may recognize Thaddeus Bullard, aka WWE Superstar Titus O’Neil. He’s not just giving it all he’s got in the ring — he’s giving back to youth in need, year-round, in the Tampa Bay area and beyond. We sat down with him at Ciccio Water — one of his favorite local spots — and talked about his inspirational story (page 18), his rise to the top and his upcoming charity event, the Joy of Giving at Raymond James Stadium on December 23, 2017. His goal is BIG: to collect 10,000 gifts for kids in need. Ready to rumble? Here’s how YOU can get in the ring and help out: become a sponsor and help make this event possible; host a toy drive and donate gifts; volunteer and bring your family, friends and coworkers; visit JoyOfGivingTampa.com and learn more. Titus O’Neil isn’t the only superstar we’re featuring in this issue; this edition also includes our annual South Tampa’s Top 10 Under 40 feature, highlighting a group of young professionals nominated by YOU for their outstanding professional achievements and charity involvement. See who made this year’s list on page 32. Every year, one of our New Year’s resolutions is to give back not just around the holidays, but also throughout the year. That’s why, beyond the Joy of Giving event, we’ve also put together a charity listing section (page 46) designed to inspire you to give back this month and all year long. Happy giving!

Sincerely, Shawna Wiggs Group Publisher (813) 600-4000

Fighting to Make a Difference

With the help of a few key figures, Thaddeus Bullard, aka WWE Superstar Titus O’Neil, overcame poverty to become a star. Now, he’s returning the favor to Tampa Bay. Interview by Shawna Wiggs | Photography by Gabriel Burgos Written by Michael Kwitko | Art Direction by Heather Fitzpatrick

Thaddeus Bullard, aka WWE Superstar Titus O’Neil, cuts an imposing figure. The former University of Florida defensive end towers over nearly everyone he shares a room with. The character of Titus O’Neil is brash and arrogant, using his Titus Worldwide talent agency to amass power in the WWE. Yet it only takes a few moments to realize that the man behind the Titus O’Neil persona is a gentle giant. The multi-time pro wrestling tagteam champion has leveraged his successful WWE career to accomplish his ultimate mission: giving back to the Tampa Bay community. He’s involved with 18 | TampaMagazines.com

multiple charities across the region, seemingly never missing a chance to help make a difference. The Tampa Bay Lightning even recognized Bullard’s efforts by naming him their 261st Community Hero in March. Bullard isn’t shy about why he does what he does. He was told he’d be dead or in jail by 16. Instead a youth outreach program, the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches, helped him excel. Now he wants to give back.

“I just like seeing people who have influence use it for positive things,” he says. “They have a voice.” Bullard isn’t afraid to use his to roar.

Fighting to make a difference You grew up in North Florida, attended the University of Florida, and now you live in Tampa. What made you decide to stay in Florida? The weather. I just love the state of Florida. Some people grow up here and want to leave and go live somewhere else, up north, New York or wherever. I’m just not a cold weather guy, so I’ve always enjoyed living here. Your WWE career began after a pretty successful football career. How did you make that transition? One of my best friends is [actor and former WWE Superstar] Dave Bautista. He was in the business at the time. He’s gone on to make movies now, but he always encouraged me to at least give [the WWE] a try. I was driving in South Tampa, where their headquarters were, one day. I ended up walking into the back room and saying, “Hey, I’m coming in to take a look at the place,” and almost as soon as I walked in I was signed as a WWE Superstar. where does the name Titus O’Neil come from? My youngest son’s name is Titus, and Shaquille O’Neal was one of my favorite athletes growing up. I just put those two names together. Around the rest of the country you may be known as a WWE Superstar, but here in Tampa Bay you’re known for your philanthropy. What are some of the organizations you’re involved in? Well I’m known worldwide for my philanthropy. When I’m in town I do a lot with various charities, including the United Way Foundation, Metropolitan Ministries and Embracing Legacy, which was a foundation I was the president of, as well as Unsigned Preps and Wheelchairs 4 Kids. There’s not really a lot that I don’t do. Boys & Girls Club is a huge charity I work with, as well as the Hillsborough County School Board. Where does your drive to give back come from? My upbringing. My mother had me at a very young age. We were raised to be very level-headed. We grew up very poor, and I was labeled a kid who would be dead or in jail before I was 16 years old. I got a chance to go to a place called the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches program.

The people there that invested in me, invested in the program and invested in the youth, they gave me an opportunity to be successful. It was an investment they made with no guarantees that they’d have a return on it. So each day I get up I have an opportunity to repay those people. Some I’ve met; some I’ve never met. I think part of my story and part of my journey was to get to a point where I could be a voice for people who may not be in stable situations and tell them to stay out of trouble and show them that there are people out there who were in similar situations or worse who have had great success stories — stories that involve people who took the time to invest in them one way or another. I have a love of people from all walks of life. People from all walks of life, all demographics, have helped me get to the position I’m in today to give back. So everything I try to do from a philanthropy mindset is about people and just making people aware that we’re all one instance away from being in the worst situation or a better situation. It’s a matter of perspective. Your signature charitable event is the Joy of Giving at Raymond James Stadium, where you partner with local businesses and non-profits to donate 10,000 gifts to children and families. Where did the idea for that event come from? First it was my church, Revealing Truth Ministries. Our pastor, Pastor Greg Powe, called on us to volunteer. One event I was involved in was a gift-giving event. I [began] moving it away from the church because not everyone involved were church-going people. I wanted a community event, not a church event. The whole concept behind it is giving people gifts that they actually want. When a kid gets their name called, they go up and they pick the gift they actually want. It’s not just someone handing them a gift and saying, “Merry Christmas.”

We Grew up very poor, and I was labeled a kid who would be dead or in jail before I was 16 years old.

This year we’re going to take it to the next level. We’ve got some awesome partners. We’ve got first responders; the sheriff’s office is on board, the Tampa Police Department is on board. The NBA donated basketball hoops so community members can play basketball with official equipment. The USTA will set up tennis courts for kids to play tennis. I’m trying to build relationships on top of giving gifts: the gift of character. We’ve got great people in and around the city who have great hearts to give, and they do. They give during Thanksgiving, or they give during the holidays. My question to all of them is, what’s going to be done the other 364 days? Those families that came to you and me in the situations that they were in don’t just go away because they got a new game. So what can we do to bring together all of this phenomenal work? I figure, let’s get out there and have some bounce houses, have the Rays come out, have the Lightning come out and celebrate everything about giving. Let’s acknowledge those who have needs. Organizations, like churches, and other people with the right mindset needed to get out there and address these situations.

Thaddeus sat down with us at Ciccio Water, one of his favorite restaurants.

—Thaddeus Bullard

What do you need from your regular community citizen? What could we do to help make a difference?

I think the biggest thing is to come and see [the event on Dec. 23]. They can sign up at joyofgivingtampa.com. They can donate. They can volunteer. They can participate. This is really an open invitation for people to experience something that’s never been done in the city of Tampa. It can scare a lot of people. It’s never been done, and you say you want to give out 10,000 gifts at one event. I say stuff like that, and then I start proceeding to go through with it. Everyone is wondering about the logistics and this and that. I haven’t thought about it like that. I just thought about pledging the time and resources to make it happen. We’ll get it done. I’ve reminded people here lately that Gasparilla started off a certain way [as a smaller event]. Now it’s a staple of our city. I want this to be the same thing. I want other people around the country to emulate we’re doing on the same day so we can get other people

Fighting to make a difference together, be it other athletes or entertainers in Dallas or New York, everyone doing the Joy of Giving on this day for the community to come together. Earlier this year you gave a TED Talk at UCLA about the domino effect of advocacy and the importance of having positive influences. Who were the positive influences in your life growing up and what effect did they have on you? My mother was the first positive influence on my life because she gave me life. She had a choice, and she made a very difficult choice. She definitely afforded me my motivation for a lot of the things that I do. A guy by the name of Mr. Charles Blalock, he influenced me; he’s still alive. There were two guys I called Dad growing up, and he was one of them. Pastor Greg Powe passed away. He was the other one. I grew up in Live Oak, Florida. It’s a very different place [than Tampa]. My high school football coach was one of the only people I could talk to about race. We still had our difference of opinions about certain things, but I was at least able to talk to him about how I felt in that city. My college coach, Coach Steve Spurrier, taught me about competition and competing the right way, and not to be

afraid to have fun while competing and having fun with your opponents. They get [ticked] off; that’s part of it, you know? You want their best. Some people think you should be politically correct when you speak about stuff, but I’ve never been a politically correct person. What’s right is right and what’s wrong is wrong, and it is what it is. I have this water. If I put just a little bit of dirt in it — just a little bit — would you drink it? If I took the dirt out, would you drink it? Absolutely not. So either way you wouldn’t drink it. It’s still dirty water. That’s how I feel about the truth. No matter how you soften it up, the truth is the truth. Steve Spurrier was brutally honest with a lot of people, including myself. I enjoyed that about him. Over the last few months you, Chris Archer from the Tampa Bay Rays, and J.T. Brown of the Tampa Bay Lightning have been working with the Tampa Police Department to improve community relations. How did that partnership come about? I’ve had a partnership with them for a while. J.T. developed a partnership with them at the beginning of the season after he protested in a way that he saw fit. He got some backlash from it, but he took a step further and got involved and now he and Chief Dugan are like best friends. Chris Archer went the same way. Great guy, great talent, great human being. So is Jameis Winston. I just like seeing people who have influence use it for positive things. They have a voice. They can bring light to some issues and educate about certain issues that people want to stereotype a certain way, like the notion that police are bad people. They’re not bad people. The reason I want law enforcement to be positive is because law enforcement saved my life. I went to the Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranches, which was run by law enforcement and founded by law enforcement. So it’s a deep respect for law enforcement. Yeah, but I’m also very cognizant of the fact that, much like athletes, you have people who go out and make mistakes, but you should not mischaracterize the whole group because of a few. So the way I protest is the way I

Thaddeus with sons Titus (left) and Thaddeus Jr. (right).

encourage others to protest. If you have a problem with the education system, get involved with the schools. You have a problem with the justice system? Develop a relationship with law enforcement officers. You have two young sons. What do you teach them about being a positive influence in the world? We have three rules in my house. Rule one is love and respect everyone you come in contact with. You may not like them. You may not agree with them, but you love them and you respect them. Rule number two is don’t use the word “can’t.” I was told my entire life I can’t do things. That was proven to be a lie, so no one can tell them they can’t achieve. Rule number three is to be your best. If you got a C or a B on a test, no one can be disappointed if you gave it your best. No one can be disappointed in what you do. We talk about those three messages every single day. If I get a phone call or text message out of the blue when I’m on the road from a teacher or a coach or another parent saying, “I just wanted to let you know you raised an awesome son,” that’s the equivalent to me of getting a phone call saying they scored a touchdown. You’ve talked a lot about what it means to be a father and have even participated in the Ad Council’s Fatherhood campaign. What is your favorite part of being a father? I don’t have a favorite. I never met my biological dad and never had a male role model at home, so I love every

aspect of being a dad: coming home and getting hugs from coming in the door, going to their games, going to their schools, going to the Lightning games, Bucs games, sitting on the couch watching TV. On a lighter note, you walked in dressed to the nines. Have you always been interested in fashion? Yeah. I grew up poor and couldn’t afford the stuff I wear now. Michael Jordan was my favorite athlete, not just because of the way he played, but also because of the way he dressed. He’s the reason I shaved my head. I just loved it, the way he’d come to the arena every day dressed to the nines. I tried to imitate that as much as I could with the little bit I had. I’ve always loved fashion. Both men’s and women’s fashion. I just like seeing people dressed nicely. It shows a certain confidence. My younger son, he’s a shoe guy. My eldest son, he’s a fashion guy. What is your favorite thing about Tampa, other than the weather? The people. We have some really good people here. You can tell the way these non-profit organizations, are able to survive and do great work year in and year out is because we have a giving community. Those people come from all walks of life and all different types of backgrounds. To read the full interview with Thaddeus Bullard, go to tampamagazines.com/Thaddeus

Gerdilocks had long been plagued -

with heartburn, nausea and indigestion. Doctors had been very vague, and were unable to answer her questions!

So, she ventured away, to look for a cure and came across a hospital that looked quite obscure. Excited, Gerdilocks skipped inside, to be greeted by three doctors, all dressed in white. The first doctor came forth and proclaimed “It’s a simple fix!” “First, cut all smoking and alcohol out of the mix.” “Then you must adjust your diet and your weight, if you want a GERD-free slate.”

The second doctor shook his head. “Actually, you need only a medicine like Prilosec, to keep that nasty heartburn in check.” “False!” said the third doctor. “If long-term relief is what you seek, there is but one easy tweak. Get surgery for your acid reflux. It doesn’t take long and won’t cost you the big bucks!” Gerdilocks was ready to do away with her GERD, and because of that she took the first doctor’s word. “This treatment is too ineffective,” she squeaked. “I want to eat whatever I WANT to eat!” She decided to try the second doctor’s remedy,

but even that medicine wouldn’t bring her serenity. “This stuff costs too much and now that I’m off it my heartburn feels worse.” She turned to the last doctor and said “Please help, GERD is a curse!”

Gerdilocks was thrilled after the procedure. “My GERD has been cured!” she said - ever so eager. The third doctor smiled as he read from his notes, “We’ve put in a band to strengthen your lower esophageal sphincter, now your stomach acid can’t pass up to your throat.” Gerdilocks thanked the third doctor for his hard work and knowledge, then went on her way - in search of more porridge!

Time to Build or Renovate Your Pool?

GO GREEN THIS TIME

WITH AN ECO-FRIENDLY POOL SURFACE FROM ECOFINISH AND FLA POOLS If it’s time to refinish your concrete or fiberglass pool, try something better with EcoFinish from FLA Pools. Unlike traditional pebble or exposed aggregate pool finishes, EcoFinish is made from smooth, chemicalresistant polyethylene, so it is not rough to the touch and does not break down or change the pH of your water; it’s even certified to be drinking-water safe. EcoFinish is easy to clean, long-lasting and quick to install. It takes just a few days for FLA Pools’ expert, detail-oriented team to install the finish from beginning to end, and you can begin swimming immediately after balancing the water — no complicated start-up process or wait time.

aquaBRIGHT™ and polyFibro from EcoFinish are the perfect solution for residential, commercial and institutional projects. Pools and spas are susceptible to staining and etching with traditional materials, causing finishes to break down and change the water chemistry. aquaBRIGHT and polyFibro are pneumatically applied high performance thermal plastic that eliminates most traditional pool finish shortcomings. FLA Pools is Tampa Bay’s only authorized installer of EcoFinish and has been Tampa Bay’s leading new pool and outdoor living designers and remodel team for more than 20 years. Call today to learn how to elevate your pool experience to the next level. Check out ecopoolfinish.com for information and videos about the pool interior of the future.

Hometown: Tampa Bay Alma mater: University of North Florida; University of South Florida; University of Florida (M.S.)

In her own words: “We help healthcare professionals of all sorts find and fill positions. Within about three months [of starting my business], it was a national brand, and we had national clients. I never really realized all that recruiting could be, and I think not coming from a recruiting background was kind of an advantage for the brand.” Philanthropic efforts: Skip Cline Society, benefiting the Morton Plant Mease Foundation; Public relations chair of the Charity Polo Classic, which raises money for Tampa Bay charities Why the Charity Polo Classic: “Everyone involved is really passionate about the community, they’re passionate about making a difference, and you connect with those people if you’re similar.”

BRIANNA BEAN, 31

Founder & CEO, The Job Scouts

Motto: It’s OK to be a late bloomer. Favorite thing about Tampa: “It’s a community of a lot of great people, a lot of people who are community-focused and interested in giving back and helping each other.” Now reading: “The Slight Edge” by Jeff Olson

Hometown: Tampa Alma mater: University of Florida (B.S.); University of South Florida (M.D.)

In his own words: “My whole family has been doctors or attorneys, so I picked the path of medicine. My father is an oral surgeon, so I chose to go down the medical road. I’d been around cosmetic surgery a lot. My father did some facial cosmetic procedures back when I was younger that I would assist him on, and I always knew that’s what I wanted to do. I’ve known that since high school.” Philanthropic efforts: Raised $36,000 at Castellano Cosmetic Surgery for the Boys & Girls Club this year; Teal Recovery Project; 13 Ugly Men Why the Boys & Girls Club: “A staff member was involved in the organization when she was younger, so it hit home for our staff, and the whole team believed in their mission.” Mentor: Robert Jackson. “He trained me in cosmetic surgery in Indianapolis, and he’s kind of considered the godfather of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.” Favorite book: “The Noticer” by Andy Andrews

JOSEPH CASTELLANO, M.D., 39 Cosmetic Surgeon, Castellano Cosmetic Surgery Center

TOP 10 UNDER 40 Hometown: Washington, D.C. Alma mater: Pomona College (Claremont, CA)

In his own words: “We came up with this name, “College Hunks Hauling Junk,” thinking it would be a catchy way to make the phone ring. Now we have over 100 franchises around the country with a couple of thousand employees and close to 200 employees here in Tampa. [Co-founder] Omar Soliman and I now focus on the vision, culture, resources, barriers to success, accountability and cheerleading.” Philanthropic efforts: In 2017, College H.U.N.K.S. Hauling Junk & Moving began a partnership with Feeding Children Everywhere. The company donates two healthy meals for every completed job, with a goal of more than 1 million meals in the first three years. Why Feeding Children Everywhere: “There’s an experiential component to it [with boxing meals]. I think if you’re just writing a check it can be sort of surface level. When you actually get to experience something, there’s something right-brained that pulls at the heartstrings and makes you feel a connection to the cause you’re involved with.”

NICK FRIEDMAN, 35

Co-Founder, College H.U.N.K.S. Hauling Junk & Moving

Mentor: John Sykes, the founder of Sykes Enterprises

Hometown: Mahtomedi, Minnesota Alma mater: Art Institute of Tampa

In her own words: “[As event planners], we handle the parties from beginning to end. We start with invitations and go all the way down to close of the party — every single aspect from coming up with the concept to putting together a budget for clients and organizing every little detail of the event.” Philanthropic efforts: The Heart Gallery, which raises awareness of Tampa children waiting to be adopted by foster families; Teal Recovery Project, which raises awareness and funds for women battling cervical cancer Why those organizations: “I love the Heart Gallery’s mission and what they do. I love how they do it. I’m very fond of the Teal Recovery Project, and I’m amazed by what [organization president] Rena Carideo has started there.”

ALLY LAMB, 34 Owner/Event Planner, The Social Revelry

Mentor, and his best piece of advice: My dad. “He was born in 1914 and came from nothing. He built the American dream. He died on his 85th birthday when I was 16, and my two older brothers, Brent and Bryan, basically stepped in as my father figures. Both of them share my dad’s qualities. He used to tell me to do good, and that my word was my bond in business and in life. Both of my brothers made sure that was part of who I was, and at my core that is the most important part of who I am.”

Hometown: Tampa Alma mater: Florida State University (B.A.); University of Florida Levin College of Law (J.D.)

In her own words: “I manage the department’s attorneys and legal investigators and provide legal advice to Chief Anthony Holloway, his Command Staff, and police and civilian supervisors 24/7. My day-to-day work varies with what our officers are working on, which I love.” Philanthropic efforts: Board of Directors, Crisis Center of Tampa Bay; Board of Directors, Leadership Alliance Advisory Board; Founder, Justice Teaching program at Academy Prep Center of St. Petersburg

SASHA LOHN, 33

General Counsel, St. Petersburg Police Department

Why the Crisis Center: “I saw their mission work when no one was watching. As a prosecutor, I worked with women who had been the victims of extreme violence, including rape and sex trafficking. At the request of my team, the Crisis Center provided each woman with a dedicated victim advocate. It was deeply empowering to see women leading other women.” When I’m not in the office, you can find me: “Surrounded by people who make me a better person: my husband, Gary Weisman, my dear friends, and my dog, Squally. He thinks he’s a person.”

Hometown: Washington, D.C. Alma mater: University of South Florida

In his own words: “As a real estate developer, I really try to study the psychology behind the way people want to live and use that to identify opportunities. Real estate development is an art and a science. A developer must be very disciplined about the numbers (the science), but if you make the right bets on location and design (the art), it can really increase profitability.” Philanthropic efforts: Board member of Central Park Village Youth Service, which assists at-risk children in Tampa by providing food, clothing, scholarships and more Why Cental Park Village Youth Service: “CPVYS is dedicated to helping underprivileged children get a good education in and out of the classroom. I truly believe educating our youth is the key to making the world a better place.” Mentor: Booky Buchman. “His parents were early settlers and merchants in Ybor City. You still see the Buchman name on top of several buildings along 7th Avenue. He is completely true to his word and a man I really respect.”

MICHAEL MINCBERG, 33 President, Sight Real Estate

Best piece of advice I’ve ever received: If you want something done, ask the busiest person you know. continued on pg 36

Hometown: Rochester, New York Alma Mater: St. John Fisher College

In his own words: “As the director of sales for developer services, I meet with developers who are purchasing land, and we consult with them to help create the buildings. We meet with architecture teams and interior designers, program the condominium buildings, hire the sales staff and manage the sales of the new condos and townhomes in both St. Petersburg and Tampa.” Philanthropic efforts: President, 13 Ugly Men; Tampa Theatre; Children’s Cancer Center. On 13 Ugly Men: “We throw parties for charity. Our slogan is ‘Parties with a Purpose.’ We have quarterly parties and events to raise money for local charities. Our signature events are the Halloween party and white party, and we’ve recently thrown the Kentucky Derby party and an ugly sweater party. We’ve raised $1 million for local charities over the years, and our goal is to raise over $100,000 each year.”

DAVID MOYER, 35 Director of Sales, Developer Services, Smith & Associates Real Estate

Best piece of advice I’ve ever received: Don’t make the same mistake twice. Favorite thing about Tampa: The size. “It’s a growing city, but it’s not large enough that you can’t make it your own. You have a platform to grow individually.”

Home state: New Jersey Alma mater: Florida State University

In his own words: “I’ve always had a passion for our community. We recruit companies and try to get them to start their businesses here, [then we] help business owners and start-up entrepreneurs learn, connect and grow in the community. I think it’s important that all of our team members are originally not from Tampa. We love the community so much we don’t want to leave.” Philanthropic efforts: Chairman, Early Learning Coalition of Hillsborough County; Honorary Commander, MacDill Air Force Base; Board, Greater Tampa Chamber of Commerce Why the Early Learning Coalition: “My real passion is visiting the provider centers and making sure that the parents of the children in the VPK system are happy with the system we’re providing: with the education, with the outcomes, with the curriculum. My philosophy has always been that if you start early, you’ll succeed.” Favorite thing about Tampa: “I think we’re just a very open community. It doesn’t matter your ethnicity, where you came from, your age, your profession, people want to see you succeed.”

AAKASH PATEL, 33 President, Elevate, Inc.

TOP 10 UNDER 40 Hometown: Fort Bragg, North Carolina Alma mater: University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill

In her own words: “I love my job, and I’m really passionate about what we’re able to do on a daily basis. I’m also able to report on issues that are important, not only to me, but to my community: the military and things that other moms and dads are having to deal with.” Philanthropic efforts: Works closely with the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, which provides full college scholarships for children of fallen Special Operations team members; Board member of High Risk Hope; My Warrior’s Place; Remember, Honor, Support; Babycycle

COURTNEY ROBINSON, 34 Anchor, 10 News WTSP

Why Special Operations Warrior Foundation: “I am so passionate about them because I have that personal connection, [with my sister and I] being recipients. Our father was in Special Operations and passed away in 1994. The work that these men have to do is incredible. To be able to take that burden away from them if something, God forbid, were to happen on the battlefield or in training, that their children would be taken care of, that’s huge.” Motto: Remember, kindness is always the best way to treat others and yourself.

Hometown: Bradenton, Florida Alma mater: University of South Florida (B.A., M.S.W.)

In her own words: “Our organization strives to increase services to individuals throughout the country who suffer from symptoms of trauma, such as post-traumatic stress, who go untreated or are receiving ineffective methods of treatment. My career in clinical practice over the years has afforded me the opportunity to work among diverse populations with a specialization in trauma and life transitions as well as providing community outreach for at-risk individuals and families of all ages.” Philanthropic efforts: Past president of LAMPLighters; Board of Directors, Metropolitan Ministries Why Metropolitan Ministries: “I was initially drawn by the immense effort they provide to the families in our community during the holidays. I was given the opportunity to incorporate my involvement into my clinical internship for my master’s degree, where I developed and implemented a pediatric yoga program with the children and provided a semester-long emotional intelligence workshop for the teens in the Mighty Metro Kids afterschool program.” Motto: Do unto others as you wish them to do unto you. App I can’t live without: “My calendar and alerts!”

KEY THINGS TO KNOW: • Specializes in ultrasound-guided prolotherapy and PRP injections for musculoskeletal pain and injury • Full-service medical clinic with nutritional IV treatments • Comprehensive anti-aging treatment, including bioidentical hormone replacement

Get back to the life you were living before muscle and joint pain slowed you down with stem cell therapy from Heim Regenerative Medicine Center

While anti-aging treatments for the face and skin have become increasingly popular, it’s important to remember that joints and muscles become worn as we age as well, sometimes causing chronic pain and disability. At Heim Regenerative Medicine Center, Dr. Michael Heim uses cutting-edge ultrasound-guided stem cell and platelet-rich plasma (PRP) injections to repair damage and restore function from conditions like tendonitis, arthritis and cartilage damage. Reduce or eliminate pain in the knees, elbows, ankles, shoulders, back, and more by fixing the cause of your pain without surgery.

Stem cells have the unique ability to turn into any kind of cell the body needs, such as cartilage in an arthritic joint. They also act as powerful messengers that signal your body when something needs to be repaired. This process wakes up the natural healing cascades in your body and has the potential to reduce or eliminate the need for surgery in some musculoskeletal conditions. Dr. Heim also uses stem cells in facial rejuvenation. He is one of the few providers in the area who offers a micro-needling procedure that is combined with PRP (a process known as the “vampire facial”) and stem cells, amplifying the effects of the treatment and restoring a natural-looking glow. To begin the path toward repairing, restoring and reviving your body, schedule your free consultation at Heim Regenerative Medicine today.

Did You Know? Statistically, only 64% of sibling groups in foster care in Florida are placed together. Many brothers and sisters are separated due to lack of funding and proper resources. The Children’s Home Network makes it a priority to keep sibling groups together, so they can heal from abuse, neglect and abandonment.

We are grateful to serve a family of 9 foster siblings, who are receiving the therapeutic and specialized care they need to heal and thrive...TOGETHER!
