General History
Texas A&M International University joined the Texas A&M System in 1995 after a 25 year run as Laredo State University. The Athletics program began in 2002 as an NAIA member institution before making the transition to the NCAA Division II level in 2008. Since 2002, TAMIU has grown to offer 11 varsity sports along with cheerleading and dance programs. The Athletic Department re-branded in 2014, debuting new logos and taglines. This style guide outlines the ONLY acceptable uses for TAMIU Athletics marks.

Athletic logo and artwork requests must be made through the Athletic Communications office at TAMIU. Please refer to the contact information below. Referencing the University
The University should always be identified as Texas A&M International University. TAMIU or Dustdevils are suitable second references. The University should never be identified as TAM-I or TAMU-I.
Referencing the Mascot
The University mascot is the Dustdevil. The actual Mascot is named Dusty, both serve as suitable references. The Dustdevils should never be classified by gender such as Lady Dustdevils.
