In October 2018, Rebekah Hernandez was named to the Heartland Conference’s 20th Anniversary Women’s Cross Country Team

In February 2019, the TAMIU Women’s Cross Country team was placed on the 2018 NCAA Division II All-Academic teams list for posting a 3.41 GPA

2019 Heartland Conference Championship Appearances -

On November 3, 2018, TAMIU hosted the 2019 Heartland Conference Cross Country Championships at the Max A. Mandel Municipal Golf Course The Women’s Cross Country team finished in 3rd place while the Men’s Cross Country team ended up in 5th place Softball placed 5th in the Heartland Conference and advanced to the postseason for the 11th consecutive season In the 2019 Heartland Conference Softball Championship the Dustdevils defeated No. 3 seed Rogers State and No. 1 seed St. Mary’s

Maroon Madness 2018 • On October 17, 2018, the Texas A&M International University Department of Athletics hosted Maroon Madness • Over 1,500 students had the opportunity to win multiple prizes including a flatscreen TV, a gaming console, $500 Gift Card to the Bookstore, Beats Headphones and more • Free food was also given to students courtesy of Popeyes and free t-shirts to the first 1,200 students courtesy of Housing and Residence Life


Dustdevils in the Community On December 1, 2018, the Texas A&M International University baseball team spread Christmas cheer for the third-straight year among the patients in the Laredo Medical Center Pediatric Ward.

On March 23, 2019, the Texas A&M International University Department of Athletics hosted its 7th annual Building Homes for Heroes TAMIU Baseball/Softball BBQ Party BBQ Plates that featured brisket sandwiches, chips and soft drinks were cooked on site by Brothers in Smoke. Off-Road Show and shine presented by MudBug Jeep and Jeep Punishment. Children’s activities including outdoor inflatable bouncers

Ernst Feisner Head Athletic Trainer

• On Tuesday, September 18, 2018, was struck by tragedy when Head Athletic Trainer, Ernst Feisner died at 55 years old not long into his 16th season at TAMIU • On Sunday, September 30, 2018, the TAMIU Department of Athletics held a memorial service to honor his memory
