It can be done.” While Kris is set to retire next year, that doesn’t mean she’s slowing down. “After I retire, I’ll probably come back here and do some of the pro bono work. I haven’t practiced law in a number of years, but I could come here and help out in some of the more easy matters,” she says. “I want to also continue to speak out about the importance of civil legal assistance to people.” As “someone who’s been there,” I asked Kris if she had any advice for the next generation of professional women looking to hold leadership positions in the future. “Anytime you work hard, you’re going to stand out.
