ADULT ENRICHMENT & RESPITE

Senior Resource Association (SRA) provides services to support and advocate for independence and dignity of older adults in Indian River County. We provide nourishment, supervised socialization, transportation, guardianship and information referral services for seniors and their families. Our goal is to help keep seniors safe, healthy and engaged in our community.

ADULT ENRICHMENT & RESPITE DayAway Program If there’s anything we have learned in the 45+ years of providing senior services in our community, it’s that aging is an opportunity to pursue passions, socialize with others who have similar interests, and share wisdom with those less experienced. SRA’s Enrichment & Respite programs support this awareness by providing a platform for social inclusion, support, and community connectivity. Our programs are designed for older adults and with a specialty that includes adults of all ages with physical or cognitive health challenges.

DayAway promotes social inclusion for persons who can no longer be left home alone, and those with physical and cognitive challenges by offering diverse and relevant activities in a safe, welcoming environment. Most participants attend on a regular schedule, often according to the needs of their homelife or desire to participate in specific activities, clubs or classes. Our enrichment programs also provide caregivers with daily respite and opportunities to care for their own needs and well-being. Membership is required and includes all activity supplies and daily hot, nutritious lunches and snacks. Why choose Adult Enrichment & Respite programs? Adult Enrichment & Respite centers and programs are designed for aging adults who are isolated and need a meaningful socialization outlet. The centers also include specialized programs for adults age 18 and older who can no longer manage independently and need supervised care during the day. For the participant, the results of regular enrichment activities have improved their quality of life, health and well-being. For their caregiver, it provides daily respite and freedom to run errands, work, and enjoy their own socialization and activities, reducing their stress while simultaneously improving their mental and physical health.
