Lincoln readies for festive November

The Lincoln Theatre is gearing up for a festive November with a lineup that promises to bring humor, harmony, and holiday cheer to the Marion community. From a classic film screening to a handbell concert, stand-up comedy, and a swingin’ jazz performance, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

Hockey Happens

Hockey is happening in Wytheville. The Blue Ridge Bobcats on Friday dropped the puck on their inaugural season in the Apex Center, taking on the Mississippi SeaWolves. Things didn’t quite go the Bobcats

way as the home team dropped a 5-3 decision.

The first Bobcat point ever, and going down in the Wythe County sports history books, came courtesy of Brice French, who found the back of the net in the third period of play.

On Saturday, the Bobcats and SeaWolves were at it again. This time took an overtime period to decide, with the Blue Ridge boys coming up short 4-3. Next week, the Bobcats are on the road, taking on the Fraser, Michigan, Motor City Rockers.

Paper Moon Screening – Nov. 10 Kicking off the holiday season is a special screening of the beloved 1973 film “Paper Moon” on Nov. 10 at 7 p.m. Tickets for this event are a mere $5, making it accessible for all to join in the cheerful spirit. This classic American road comedy-drama, with its witty humor, will delight the audience. The film pays homage to the Lincoln Theatre’s movie palace origins, taking you on a journey with a traveling Bible salesman and an orphaned girl who make a dynamic duo of con artists. The event is part of the Lincoln Theatre’s $5 Friday Flix program, celebrating films that have reached their 50th anniversary. Raleigh Ringers Handbell Concert – Nov. 12 On Nov. 12 at 3 p.m., the Lincoln Theatre welcomes the Emmy-nominated handbell choir, the Raleigh Ringers. See LINCOLN, Page 3
