Hockey Happens Hockey is happening in Wytheville. The Blue Ridge Bobcats on Friday dropped the puck on their inaugural season in the Apex Center, taking on the Mississippi SeaWolves.

Things didn’t quite go the Bobcats way as the home team dropped a 5-3 decision.

Downtown Wytheville is gearing up for another Halloween season with Mayhem on Main Street.

The first Bobcat point ever, and going down in the Wythe County sports history books, came courtesy of Brice French, who found the back of the net in the third period of play.

A full day of activities is planned for Saturday Oct. 28, kicking off at 8 a.m.
