We hope that all of you had a great Labor Day Weekend. We are back and busy at school, and the campus is an incredibly busy place. We are proud of our fall sports teams as they continue to play hard and represent our school extremely well. In addition, our students and teachers are working hard in the classrooms on a daily basis, and we continue to be impressed with their engagement and diligence. We recently had Technology Lab on campus to do a thorough internet technology audit of our campus (i.e network, access points, equipment, information management, etc )

CONTINUED We will be making some significant upgrades in the very near future to not only address several issues but to update our system and prepare for greater technology opportunities for teachers and students. We are excited about further improving our overall school program and continuing to work at becoming one of the area leaders in technology. Many of our families have contributed to our annual fund, and we are so appreciative of your generosity As you know, the annual fund is vitally important to our school in meeting the needs of our school that exceed tuition. Please consider a gift to our annual fund today. We would love for you to partner with us. If you have questions please contact Brette Pinner at bpinner@rebelmail net Lastly, we had a wonderful day on campus today with our New Parent Breakfast! Thanks to all of our new parents for coming and also to our wonderful group of TRA Parent Ambassadors! We had a great morning Also, thanks to our chapel Speaker, Dr. Dub Oliver, President of Union University! It is always a pleasure to have guests on campus. We are so thankful to Dr. Oliver and Mr. Robbie Graves, Union’s Assistant Vice President for Undergraduate Admissions, for taking time out of their busy schedules to join us at Rosemark!

BY STEPHANIE WEHRER We have completed the first month of school, and we have already accomplished so much in just a brief period of time. We are approaching the midpoint of the first quarter, and overall students are settled in and doing great. This has been a short week due to the Labor Day holiday on Monday, and it always seems like those shorter weeks are busier than normal. Our teachers met in grade level groups for this week’s late start schedule, and I had the opportunity to visit with each of the upper school groups during that time I was grateful for the opportunity to hear their discussions and see the benefit of that shared time, that will ultimately help us to better serve and meet the needs of our students and families. Our junior students residing in Tipton County participated in orientation for the youth T.O.T.A.L leadership program this week.

Ms. Vego’s senior government class will be welcoming former United States Attorney, and current Chief Investigative Counsel for the Tennessee Comptroller’s Division of Investigations, Mike Dunavant on Friday. Mr. Dunavant will be speaking to seniors about his experience in public service. Our third graders are reviewing subject / predicate and have enjoyed using the promethean boards to show mastery of that skill. They are reviewing parts of speech and having fun while getting back into the swing of school. Our PreK 2 classes have a Chicka Chicka Boom Boom theme this week and loved making their very own coconut trees. We love using children’s literature to teach! Our PreK 4 students are also reading a great book in class. They read a Mercer Mayer book titled There’s An Alligator Under My Bed, this week and made their own art work to go with the book.

BY SUSAN CRANFORD Our “Little Rebels” had a great time last Thursday night! Several touchdowns were made, and the cheerleaders cheered for the boys loudly! I think Coach Dean has some prospects for the future! Our next Little Rebel event will be Friday, September 16, when our 2nd graders take on our 3rd graders. Come out and enjoy the varsity game and this fun halftime event, too! Last Friday, our PreK 3 students baked us all the most delicious cookies and sold them in their “bakery”! They were so proud and loved this activity that culminated learning about the letter “B”

P.E. is one of our students’ favorite classes! Coach Hood plans an engaging variety of games that are different each and every week He also introduces his class to Rebel Bear and does a short devotional each week The devotional coincides with the lesson in Bible class that Coach Hood also teaches each week We are continuing with our weekly Bible verses this year, and your child is asked to recite the verse on Friday to his/ her teacher. We know that hiding God’s word in our hearts is so important for our young boys and girls so that they will be equipped to lean on His promises. Progress reports will go home next week in grades 1 5. If you have any concerns, please contact your teacher. Don’t forget that we have spirit wear every Friday, and your child may wear any TRA shirt and uniform bottoms. If you are in need of some super cute spirit wear, contact Mrs. Rebecca Downing. Her email is rdowning@rebelmail.net.

CONTINUED Fourth grade loves science experiments! They recently did an experiment called “dancing raisins”. It was a continuation of learning about the scientific method. They dropped raisins into a cup of 7up and watched to see what happened. They were amazed and surprised when the raisins “danced” by bobbing up and down. This, of course, was caused by the carbonation in the 7up. They love hands on learning!!
