As the end of the year approaches, we wanted to take a moment to reflect on the incredible achievements of our students at Tipton-Rosemark Academy. We are thrilled with the progress that our students have made in so many areas.

One area that we wanted to mention is our Accelerated Reader (AR) program Our students have embarked on a literary adventure, and we are immensely proud of their accomplishments. This year alone, our students collectively read an astounding total of nearly 35 million words!

The dedication and enthusiasm our students have shown for reading is truly inspiring. We firmly believe that a love for reading opens doors to limitless possibilities, and this achievement is a testament to their hard work, persistence, and the unwavering support they receive from their families.

It is also essential to acknowledge the pivotal role parents play in fostering a nurturing reading environment at home. Each of you has contributed significantly to the success of your students. We commend your efforts and thank you for your commitment to your child's education.

We would also like to express our gratitude to our dedicated team of teachers, Mrs Hall, and the staff members who have worked tirelessly to cultivate a culture of reading within our school community. Their guidance, passion, and steadfast commitment to our students have made this achievement possible.

Once again, we extend our heartfelt congratulations to our students and thanks to our parents for their support. Together, we have created a vibrant reading community at our school, and we cannot wait to witness the bright futures that await our remarkable students.

Wishing you a safe and enjoyable summer break. Thank you for sending us these incredible young people. We love you all and can’t wait to see you back for the 2023-24 school year!

The much-anticipated “Kiss-the-Cow” event organized by TRA’s Track program took place earlier this week. Mrs. Amy Henning and Mr. Scott Powell, were chosen by students in each of their divisions, to kiss a cow for the athletic program’s annual fundraiser. It was definitely a unique and creative way to raise funds. We appreciate these two teachers being such good sports on behalf of the students.

Congratulations, also to our varsity softball team for their victory over Brentwood Academy on Wednesday, to advance to the state tournament next week in Murfreesboro. This marks the third year in a row Coach Sanfratello’s Lady Rebels have made an appearance in the state tournament Go make us proud, ladies!

We also want to congratulate the varsity baseball team on a great season. It unfortunately came to an end sooner than they would’ve liked on Wednesday facing Goodpasture in middle Tennessee But, they have had an awesome season and we are so proud of all they’ve accomplished along the way.

Upper School Review

For the second year in a row, TRA was presented with the Anne Dallas Dudley Gold Level Award for registering 100% of our eligible voters to vote in the next general election Secretary of State, Tre Hargett along with Representative Debra Moody visited campus to present the prestigious award. TRA was one of only 13 schools across the state of Tennessee to receive the award this year!

This has been a good year in the upper school at Tipton-Rosemark Academy That is in large part because of the great work our teachers and staff have done each day, and also because of the hard work accomplished by our students. My prayer is that your students will enjoy a wonderful summer and time with their families, and that our teachers will also enjoy a nice relaxing break to rest and refocus in preparation for reuniting in August ready to continue the great work being done on TRA’s campus in every division. Thank you, families, for partnering with us, and for trusting our staff to be a part of your child’s academic successes It is a great privilege and blessing to be part of the TRA community, and our team is humbled by the opportunities we have been given to serve. I pray that everyone has a safe, restful, and enjoyable summer break!

Our amazing readers totaled 34,885,896 words read this year in accelerated reader!!! Isn’t that incredible? Reading is the one most important key to your child’s learning Reading affects every other subject and being a strong reader will ensure your child’s success in so many areas. With that being said, PLEASE have your child read this summer. The “summer slide” is real and we want your child to come back just as strong as they left us! They should also practice math facts! Summer reading assignments will be posted on the website.

We enjoyed our end of the year PreK-4 program and Kindergarten graduation last week. The programs were great and the boys and girls were so PROUD!

At TRA, we try to instill God’s love and His wish for us to love others as He loves us. Our kindergarteners have obviously listened. They were caught cleaning the cafeteria last week without being asked What an act of service!

On Monday, we had our elementary field day. Coach Hood did a great job organizing this event and the water slide was a HUGE hit and much needed on that steamy hot day!

Our fourth and fifth grade Hallelujah Choir took a field trip this week to sing to two area nursing homes. This was very much appreciated by the residents and I know they loved hearing our boys and girls sing praises to Jesus Thank you to Mrs Samantha Pence for being such a wonderful leader and teacher to these students.

Our fourth graders had a fun beach trip movie day this week! All of our last week events have been so fun Thank you to our teaches and parents who have made them all happen!

Thank you for a FABULOUS year! Most of all, THANK YOU for sharing your child with us each day. We are so thankful you choose TRA for your child’s education and we do not take that responsibility lightly We are blessed to have you! Have a wonderful summer and see you soon!

ELEMENTARY REPORT CARDS, SUMMER READING AND TEST RESULTS

Inside the awards day packet, you will find your child’s awards, report card and summer reading assignment. On the back of the report card, you will find your child’s CTP testing results. Each column ranks the score differently. Below is a description of each score.

The National Norm (NN) is comprised of students across the nation (based on a representative sample of all students in the U.S. at the relevant grade level). If this column says N/A, the test was not taken in enough in that grade level to produce that score.

The Suburban Norm (SN) is comprised of students at suburban public schools who took the CTP at the same time of year as your student over the past three years

The Independent Norm (IN) is comprised of students from independent schools who took the CTP at the same time of year as your student over the past three years.

SAIS Norm (SAIS) is comprised of students in the Southern Association of Independent Schools to which your student's school belongs. These students took the CTP at the same time of year as your student over the past three years.

Scale scores (SS) are based on the actual number of questions your student answered correctly as well as the difficulty level of those questions.

The percentile rank indicates how many students in a norm group had scores that were the same or lower than your student's score. A percentile does not indicate the percentage of questions that your student answered correctly.

A stanine is another way of comparing your student's performance to the performance of students in a norm group Stanines are calculated by dividing the students in the norm group into nine subgroups, called stanines, based on their scores These stanines are numbered one to nine, lowest to highest, and different percentages of students fall into each stanine. The middle stanines include more students; those at either end include fewer students.
