Upper School Review BY STEPHANIE WEHRER Some of our 8th grade students are touring our nation’s capital this week. They are making the most of their time too, visiting a record number of sites in the time they will be there. Our students and families are so blessed to have the opportunity to see so much of our country’s history and heritage. Please join us in covering this group with prayer as they make their way back home this weekend. Mr. Stevenson’s 6th grade science classes completed a fun lesson on kinetic and potential energy through building paper roller coasters. Students demonstrated their designs by having a marble travel through the roller coasters. Such an exciting and engaging way to help students understand an important scientific concept! We want to congratulate our May student for the South Tipton Chamber of Commerce Student of the Month program. For the month of May, we would like to recognize Gracen Williams. Congratulations, Gracen, we are so proud of you!

Lower School Review BY SUSAN CRANFORD

Mrs. Joan and our fourth graders had fun coding this week in STEAM. Our boys and girls love STEAM class, and Mrs. Joan always makes it fun and educational!

Our fifth graders are really showing out! Congratulations to the following fifth graders who are excelling in the classroom and on the field and stage! Peyton Sykes, Reese Park and Sonni Burlison are playing on the middle school softball team which is currently undefeated in our district. Ethan Mooney, Kai Slayman, Trevor Feathers, Caleb Butler and Logan West are competing with our middle school soccer team and enjoying it so much! Naomi Blair, Georgianne Phelps, Logan West, Adam Walker and Emme Williamson made Treble Honor Choir. This is a huge accomplishment and such an honor for us to have five to attend this event this weekend in Nashville. We wish them the best of luck! One thing I love about TRA is the way our students are encouraged to be involved in so many different activities. This really makes for a well rounded child and will help them have the self confidence they will need as they move on to college and beyond. Our PreK 3 and PreK 4 students enjoyed a gorgeous morning at the ball field. Our girls played ball and had a fun time with the TRA softball team, and the boys did the same with the TRA baseball team. After playing ball, they enjoyed grilled hotdogs, chips, popcorn and sno cones! It was a fun day, and everyone had a great time!

Lower School Review CONTINUED

The deadline for our summer camps has been extended until May 12th! See the flier on the last page of this newsletter for additional information.

Next week, Monday through Thursday, our third through fifth graders will take the ACT Aspire test. Students in those grades need to get to bed on time, eat breakfast, and arrive to school on time (before 7:50) to do their best on the test. Please do not check your third through fifth grader out before lunch next week, and if he/ she arrives tardy, he /she will not be allowed to enter the room if testing has begun. Our students and teachers have worked hard all year, and I know our students will do a fantastic job on this assessment. The summer camp registration has been extended until May 12. These camps are also open to non TRA students. Get your sign ups in soon! If your child plans on attending summer Rebelcare, please sign up by the Monday, May 2 deadline. We need firm numbers to hire the appropriate number of workers for the summer. Thanks! We hope all of our moms can join us next Friday, May 6, for our Mother’s Day picnic. Please bring a lunch for you and your child. Meet us at the TRA football field at 11:00. We want to take some time to have a nice outdoor lunch with our mommas whom we love so much!
