The end of the school year is approaching! This is always a busy time of year, so be sure the check the school calendar often!

Upper School Review BY STEPHANIE WEHRER Ms. Kuykendall’s dual enrollment calculus students had an unconventional, college-level class session this week, but one that was exciting nonetheless! They used playdoh to visualize the volumes of 3D solids given by integrating 2D curves. They then tested their models by finding the exact volume using calculus and comparing the results. I particularly love seeing our teachers at every grade level, and content area using outsidethe-box methods to create meaningful instructional activities! Last night, the Science Club hosted Family Science Night, where members of the club set up scientific experiments and demonstrations to show students and parents of the TRA community. Ms. Watson did an excellent job planning and organizing this, and Coach Stevenson helping with the physics and chemistry demonstrations, made this such a wonderful experience for our families. We are so grateful to them for this event and such a fun evening for everyone who attended! We have so many exciting things happening in our athletic programs this week as well. Monday night, the junior varsity and the varsity baseball teams won big games against Trinity, both in walkoff fashion. That is such an exciting way to win a close game, great work fellas!

An intelligent mind acquires knowledge, and the ear of the wise seeks knowledge. Proverbs 18:15

Upper School Review CONTINUED The varsity soccer team celebrated their senior players on Monday night as well, thanking them for their commitment to the team and for their leadership. We are certainly going to miss these guys next year! Middle School Track competed last week, and the team finished 4th out of seven teams competing. Our 4x400 relay teams really showed up ready to make a name for themselves and our school though! The girls team finished in 2nd place, while our boys team took 1st place! Great work Track team!! Tonight, the varsity softball team will host their senior night to recognize and celebrate their senior leaders of the program. Come out to help them thank these ladies for their hard work and accomplishments with this team! Finally, congratulations to our April Student of the Month for the South Tipton Chamber of Commerce Student of the Month program sponsored by Patriot Bank - Elyse Warren.

Lower School Review BY SUSAN CRANFORD We are so excited to have the opportunity to go on field trips again! Our fourth and fifth graders LOVED their trip to the Redbirds game yesterday. The Hallelujah Choir consists of a mixture of fourth and fifth grade students. This group sang the “Star Spangled Banner” to open the game. These students meet weekly before school to sing together and practice for numerous performances. They did a phenomenal job and sounded like professional singers!

Our PTO is hosting a mom/ son Nerf night tomorrow Friday, April 22. The event will be from 6:008:00 p.m. in the multi purpose room. Please see the flier on the last page of this newsletter for more information!

Our Promethean boards are here! They have been installed on mobile carts and were taken to the classrooms today. We are in the process of securing dates for our teacher training. We cannot wait to begin using these awesome interactive smart boards! Our kindergarten students recently had career day. They came to school dressed like what they want to be when they grow up. We saw a huge variety of professions including teachers, nurses, doctors, bakers and even some rappers! The kindergartners wrote a description of what the job is, how much they think they should get paid, and why this would be a good job for them. Needless to say, they were quite interesting and entertaining!

Lower School Review CONTINUED

Don't miss the April 29th registration deadline for our summer camps! See the flier on the last page of this newsletter for additional information.

The high school science club had their annual experiment day with our fourth graders. Our elementary students love spending time with our upper school students . They really enjoyed learning about science and doing fun experiments with these high schoolers! “X” marks the spot! Our PreK 2 students had so much fun being pirates. They rode in a pirate ship, walked the plank and played a game called “swab the deck”. Learning is so much fun at TRA! Don’t forget our PTO Mother/ Son Nerf Night tomorrow night, April 22. It will be in the multi purpose room and will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. This is for boys ages PreK 4 and older. See you there!
