Upper School Review

Coach Stevenon’s Chemistry classes have been learning about the unique properties for each different state for which matter can exist. What better way to demonstrate these distinct properties than for students to replicate the movement of particles for each of those states I was able to sneak a peek at their human representations for particles of matter when they exist as solids, liquids or gasses. For some of you, it may not be as exciting as it was to me, but getting to catch a glimpse of this lesson certainly made my science teacher heart very happy!

The counseling department hosted a field trip to Pathways2Possibilities: P2P Career Expo, an inspirational program offered to thousands of 8th grade students in the West Tennessee area. This program was a great opportunity for students to take the first steps in planning for his or her future! The 18 Pathways represented Aerospace, Agriculture/Food/Natural Resources, Architecture/Construction, Arts/AV Technology/Communication, Business Management/Administration, Education/Training, Energy, Engineering/Polymer Science, Finance, Government/Public Administration, Health Science, Hospitality/Tourism, Human Services, Information Technology, Law/Public Safety/Corrections/Security, Manufacturing, Marketing, Transportation/Distribution/Logistics.

Finally, next Tuesday sophomore and junior students will be taking the ACT on campus, during the regular school day. Please pray for rest, and clear minds as they take this test. This will be a regular day for all other grades, and students that will be testing will also resume their regular schedule once the testing concludes. Sophomore and junior students will not be dismissed early after they are finished with testing

Lower School Review

Everyone had a great time celebrating our grandparents at Grandparent’s Day before Spring Break. The programs were wonderful and the grands also loved visiting the classrooms. The love on campus that day was evident everywhere you looked. There is nothing like the love between a grandparent and a grandchild! They sure do make life “grand” for each other!

Lots of fun is taking place in the elementary school this week. Our PreK-4 students celebrated letter “P” with pajamas, popcorn and Pete the Cat. This sounds like the perfect day!

In Steam this week, students did a rainbow walking water experiment. They talked about cause and effect and what happens over time while paper towel strips sit in colored water. They also made rainbow paper by “catching a rainbow” in a bowl of water. They loved this activity!

OUR PREK-2 AND PREK-3 STUDENTS CELEBRATED ST. PATRICK’S DAY A LITTLE LATE ON MONDAY. THEY HAD “LUCKY” SNACKS, TALKED ABOUT WHAT MAKES THEM “LUCKY” AND DID SOME FUN ART WORK, TOO!

Some days you just need to take a break and I caught third graders in Mrs. Coat’s class having a 30 second dance party. They were having so much fun taking a little “brain break” and getting the wiggles out! I had to join them!

We enjoyed Chapel this week which was led by two of our TRA Seniors. Maddox Pinner and Lillie Garner shared an Easter story with us. They read The Donkey Who Carried a King to our elementary students and did a great job. We love sharing this time with our older students and we also love singing praises to our Lord. This is our favorite time of the week!

We are looking forward to our first baseball / softball buddy visit this Friday! Players are paired with each classroom to do fun activities together. This is a great mentoring activity and our boys and girls love it when the older students come to visit. We love being a PreK-212th grade campus!
