Upper School Review

Coach Sanfratel l o shared wi th me that he bel i eves that may have j ust been onl y the second ti me we have accompl i shed that, and what a bi g moment worth cel ebrati ng for our l adi es! Ri ght after the Lady Rebel s won, Tyler Byrd led the boys team to a 56-54 wi n themsel ves. Tyl er put up 48 of the 56 poi nts, breaki ng hi s own si ngl e game scori ng record, set earl i er thi s year. Great j ob by our basketball teams!

The Mi l l i ngton Star Readers Choi ce Awards are i n, and one of our own was selected as Best Hi gh School Teacher. The school won other recogni ti ons as well, but Mr. Ni chol as Stevenson, TRA Sci ence teacher was the hi gh school teacher chosen to recei ve thi s honor. We are very proud of Mr. Stevenson for a whole host of reasons, but especi al l y when others publ i cl y affi rm what we have known al l along. Congratulati ons to Mr. Stevnenson.

Fi nal l y, on Wednesday, hi gh school and mi ddl e school students were able to parti ci pate wi th representati ves from the l ower school to complete the efforts of granti ng a chi l d’ s wi sh through the Make-A-Wi sh foundati on. Make-A-Wi sh was the chari ty of choi ce at TRA l ast year, and our students generously collected enough donati ons to make thi s work. The upper school team and students were humbled and grateful for the opportuni ty to cel ebrate Anderson and grant hi s wi sh of a pull-behi nd camper. Great work, TRA communi ty, and congratul ati ons to Anderson!

Lower School Review

BY SUSAN CRANFORD We are extremely excited and proud that TRA received several awards from this year’s Millington Star Peoples’ Choice Awards. Our Lower School division was awarded Best Preschool and Best Elementary Teacher (Mrs. Amy Henning ). I am super proud of our school and the dedicated faculty and staff that makes TRA such an amazing place to learn.

We have exciting news in the lower school!

Thanks to a very kind and generous gift from the Robinson Foundation, our lower school is receiving Promethean boards for all preK-3-5th grade classrooms. These interactive boards are amazing!

They will definitely improve collaboration and interactivity in the classroom, which has been proven to increase academic achievement and improve the overall educational experience for students and teachers alike.

Oh no! Six more weeks of winter! Our preschool and kindergarten classes waited patiently to see if the groundhog would see his shadow and he did.

They had fun graphing predictions, making groundhog art and yummy snacks. They also did counting and reading activities centered around the day. Most of us were a smidge disappointed because we are ready for warm weather and sunshine!

We are so blessed and so fortunate here at TRA to attend Chapel and to worship our Lord daily in our classes.
