Student Ambassador Program - Our enhanced Student Ambassador Program has i ncorporated our student l eaders i nto the l i fe of the school as not only helpers for our teachers, but mentors and rol e model s to our younger students.

1965 Soci ety - Thi s organi zati on formed to heral d the foundi ng of our school has over 25 members. We are exci ted about our fi rst event for members thi s Summer!

The TRA Fund - our annual fund has record parti ci pati on wi th faculty and board parti ci pati on bei ng 100%.

Fantasti c performance of “ Cl ue” by our theatre department and outstandi ng Chri stmas performances at al l di vi si ons!

Our athl eti c teams had strong seasons wi th our soccer teams, golf, volleyball, cheerl eadi ng squads, cross country, and footbal l al l havi ng success. Our football team made the state pl ayoffs, and we were so proud of 8th grader Yi anni Si ni s for pl aci ng 12th i n the state i n Upper School Varsi ty Cross Country.

We began the process of curri cul um devel opment and have i denti fi ed entrance and exi t ski l l s at al l grade l evel s and are devel opi ng a curri culum gui de for the school . When compl eted, we wi l l begi n the process of curri culum mappi ng for each course and verti cal al i gnment from PK-12.

Head of School Review CONTINUED We currentl y have 14 students recogni zed on our “ 30+” cl ub. These students had a 30 composi te score or scored 30 or above on a subj ect area of the ACT. We are so proud of these students!

Our Lower School readers conti nue to amaze us by exceedi ng thei r readi ng goals.

As of today, they have read 13, 034, 574 words! Yes, you read that correctly, they have read over 13 mi l l i on words!

Our school communi ty has embraced our TRA Chari ty of Choi ce (Proj ect R12), and we have done several fundrai sers toward our goal of bui ldi ng a school for chi l dren i n Uganda.

SAI S Accredi tati on - We compl eted our SAI S 5 year accredi tati on vi si t i n November, and the vi si ti ng team was so i mpressed wi th our program at TRA! We recei ved ful l accredi tati on from SAI S. Strategi c Pl an - We are i n the fi nal stages of devel opi ng our 5 year Strategi c Plan.

We wi l l share the pl an wi th our school communi ty i n the days ahead.

Seni or Proj ects - Our seni ors di d a wonderful j ob on thei r seni or proj ects, and you may have noti ced some of the i mprovements on campus. We have had updates to our prayer garden (new l andscapi ng, mul ch, power washi ng, and pi cni c tables), i nstal l ed new pl anters i n front of our Upper School , stai ned the fences on the Lower School pl ayground, have vol unteered at a food pantry, and packed a truck wi th needed suppl i es for those hi t hard by the fl oodi ng i n Waverly. These are j ust a few of our many proj ects. We are so proud of al l of our seni ors for assi sti ng us on campus and supporti ng others needi ng hel p off campus.

We have made vari ous faci l i ty i mprovements from the expansi on of Sportsplex parki ng, roof repai rs, l andscapi ng, pai nti ng and i nteri or bui ldi ng spruce up, campus cl eanup, and hvac repai rs.

Staffed and hi red our own TRA cl eani ng servi ces.

Over the break, I read a devoti onal that di scussed “ Battl es and Blessi ngs. ” It made me ponder the chal l enges of the semester and al so the many great thi ngs that have occurred. I share thi s l i st as a remi nder to us al l that despi te the battle we have waged wi th Covi d-19 as a communi ty, God has been so good. He has ri chly blessed our school thi s past semester. As al ways, thanks for your support and thanks for sendi ng us your i ncredi bl e chi l dren each day. We are abundantly blessed to have each of them!

Upper School Review

BY STEPHANIE WEHRER We were exci ted to wel come our facul ty, staff and students back on campus thi s week, after what I pray was a j oyous and bl essed Chri stmas break for everyone. Our staff returned to campus on Monday for some i mportant work wi th curri cul um al i gnment and devel opment, wi thi n grade l evel s and subj ect-area departments. I get to wi tness i t each day throughout the school year, but I thi nk i t i s val uabl e for our fami l i es to know j ust how hard our teachers work dai l y, to ensure that your chi l dren are getti ng the best i nstructi on and academi c experi ence that we can offer to them. The facul ty and staff al so had the opportuni ty to revi ew our school safety pl an wi th representati ves from the Shel by County Sheri ff’ s Department, and di scuss best practi ces in ensuri ng the safety of our campus, for al l of our stakehol ders. We woul d l i ke to extend a speci al thank-you to Sgt. Joey Kay, for faci l i tati ng thi s workshop for our staff.

The upper school cal endar has qui te a l i st of acti vi ti es and events for our mi ddl e and hi gh school students. Begi nni ng wi th thi s Fri day, January 7th, we wi l l celebrate Basketbal l Homecomi ng for hi gh school . Mi ddl e school Basketbal l Homecomi ng was reschedul ed for Saturday, January 15.

Next Fri day, January 14th we wi l l be geari ng up for a seri ous showdown i n the PAC for the annual school Spel l i ng Bee! Cl ass Spel l i ng Bee wi nners from 4th grade through 8th grade, wi l l face off on the bi g stage, to determi ne the master speller who wi ll have the opportuni ty to advance to the regi onal and state competi ti ons. Be on the l ookout for an update fol l owi ng the showdown, because i f thi s year i s anythi ng li ke years past, i t can get pretty i ntense! We are exci ted to see our students showcasi ng thei r academi c profi ci ency!

Fi nal l y, I want to recogni ze and congratul ate two seni or football players, Payne Fullen and Gi bson Phi l l i ps. Payne and Gi bson were named to the Tennessee Coaches Associ ati on Al l -State Hi gh School Footbal l Team! What an awesome honor, for two worthy representati ves for thei r team and our school . We are proud of you these fel l as, and i t makes me so proud to see our students worki ng hard usi ng the gi fts and tal ents they were gi ven, to bri ng honor and gl ory to the One by whom i t was gi ven.
