The 2K l unch was compl i ments of our amazi ng PTO for wi nni ng one of the categori es i n the pumpki n contest. Grades fi rst-fi fth wi l l have a speci al dessert to go al ong wi th thei r l unch on Fri day!

Ask your fi rst-fi fth grader to reci te Psal m 100: 15 for your gatheri ng on Thanksgi vi ng day. Thi s memory verse has a l ong standi ng tradi ti on here, and we brought i t back thi s year. As you know, i t i s a psal m for gi vi ng grateful prai se. There i s no more fi tti ng day to do that than on Thanksgi vi ng as we thank God for the many bl essi ngs bestowed upon us.

Readi ng one mi l l i on words i s the end goal . Students wi l l be recogni zed for several amounts of words read begi nni ng wi th 10, 000 and endi ng wi th 1, 000, 000. Each student has hi s / her name on a gol d medal cutout that wi l l be moved accordi ngl y as he/ she reads more words. Students wi l l recei ve a col or coded bead to go on hi s /her book mark that wi l l be a vi sual remi nder of the l evel s al ready achi eved.
