We will be working in the days to come to refine this document before publishing it, but I was so impressed with the work of our faculty and their thoughtful responses to the exercise. One of our discussions centered on our outstanding graduates and how they are truly men and women of distinction serving their communities in so many valuable ways. We hope that the students who leave our school will continue being individuals grounded in their faith, diligent in their studies, strong of character, and committed to serving their fellow man.

Upper School Review

Ms. Millican’s 6th grade history classes recently presented original projects spanning periods of history from the age of hunters and gatherers, the dawn of agriculture, and the formation of governments. These students did a fabulous job!

Coach Dean’s 8th grade Physical Science classes worked in groups to tackle different tasks, and time how long it took to complete them They have been learning about speed and velocity, so students used the distance and time measurements for each task to perform these calculations.

Ms. Maddux’s classes took on mathematical processes with decimals, Fear Factor style, this week!

Upper School Review

Ms. Park’s Senior dual enrollment English composition class visited the Shakespeare Theater yesterday to view a showing of Macbeth.

Freshman, Corbin Garcia, was chosen by the upper school staff as the October underclassman student of the month. Corbin is the daughter of James and Paula Garcia. As a student at TRA, Corbin has been named to the Honor Roll, plays varsity volleyball, and serves as a student ambassador. Her favorite thing about TRA is the family like community and supportive friendships. One of her nominating teachers had this to say about why she deserves to be the October student of the month, “Corbin is a hard working and caring student with a great attitude. Even while working through a personal injury, I have seen her offer to help others. She is a pleasure to teach.” Congratulations, Corbin!

Congratulations to our varsity football team for a hard fought win last Friday night, that extended their season for a first round playoff game. Way to go, guys, we are so proud of your hard work and of your coaches!

We would also like to wish our cross country team good luck today, as they will be running in their regional meet today at 4:15 Prayers for health, safety, and fast feet!

The boys in those grade levels that are on our flag football team played a great game last Saturday against FACS I saw some great plays, and I am so proud of their hard work and improvement this season. Thanks to Coach Hood for organizing and coaching this team!

Our teachers had additional training this week on our Promethean boards. They learned about Class Flow and the amazing things they can do with it in class. I cannot wait to see it in action!
