CBM Prayerline

East Asia Churches in parts of East Asia continue to grow and be more involved with mission despite many restrictions and persecution. Please pray for students serving and learning in this region – for covering and protection. One of the students, Sister Guan, is currently undergoing chemotherapy. Please pray for healing, strength, provision and comfort for her. Please pray for wisdom for CBM Field Staff as they help and guide students in completing their studies.

Africa Carla Nelson, PhD, is CBM’s Senior Associate – Africa Liaison & Educational Specialist. She supports CBM’s initiatives, strengthening existing and exploring new educational programs with partners internationally. Pray for one of the leaders of our African church partners, who is facing a significant health challenge. Church partners in Congo also continue to navigate the Ebola crisis and people in their communities are fearful. Some have been healed but still face the stigma that comes with having been stricken with the disease. There is some circulation of inaccurate information about the disease, which adds to the fear and confusion. Please pray that pastors and church leaders will have courage, clarity and compassion during this time.

Arab Baptist Theological Seminary (ABTS) The Arab Baptist Theological Seminary (ABTS) in Beirut, Lebanon, equips leaders for ministry in the Middle East and North Africa. The ABTS has enrollees from all over the world and has shared the following prayer requests from first-year students: Elissar from Lebanon - Please pray for the Lord to give me the needed strength and wisdom in my relationships and the focus to study diligently while I am here. Please pray for my family members, too. They see the change in me, and I desire to be a witness continuously so that they, too, come to the faith. El Sadig from Sudan - Please pray for my academic journey here. Pray for the Lord to open my mind so I can understand and benefit from all the lessons and lectures. Please pray for my future ministry after graduation. I would like to invest in children’s ministry, so that children would grow up with the love of God in their hearts. Saleem from Jordan - Please pray for my future ministry. I would like to start an elderly home in my country and a Bible school. I also hope to focus on pastoral work, apologetics and working with young adults.

Your continued support by donating to these projects is certainly appreciated by Camp Tulakadik! Thank you - Alfie, Ken and Andrew

The Tulakadik Open Golf Fundraiser & Banquet (Jeff Hutcheson of CTV Canada AM will be MC for this event)

Camp Tulakadik Fundraiser “New Docks and Decks This year the camp is in desperate need of new docks. The current ones have been repaired numerous times (boards replaced etc) and are not fit to be put out this season. These new docks would be used in a variety of ways from helping campers and families to enter an d exit canoes and kayaks, to helping give our lifeguard the best vantage point to see those enjoying the water. These docks are key to us in developing our waterfront for campers. The dock and deck are a vital aspect of our summer ministry to Camp We are asking you as the congregation of Sussex Baptist to take on the project of raising enough funds to enable this project to move forward. Whatever we raise as a church family will be matched by an anonymous donor to a maximum of $ 2,500.00. In essence we could raise $ 5000.00 to complete this project. Your donations for this project can be given to Alfie Smith, Ken Reicker or Andrew Hopper. Please make your cheque out to Camp Tulakadik. Please DO NOT write on your cheque that this donation is for the new docks and decks. If you place cash in your envelop please make sure your name and address is on the outside of the envelop so a receipt can be issued for your donation. Receipts will be issued by Camp Tulakadik. It would be appreciated if you could possibly have your donations in by the end of May.
