CBM Prayerline Conrad and Fiona Kwok Conrad and Fiona Kwok are CBM’s Chinese Ministries Team Leaders in Asia. Based in Thailand, they help develop a culture of integral mission in local churches through Chinese ministry partners. Their work revolves around leadership formation and community development, and providing training for young Chinese church leaders from mainland China, northern Thailand and Burma. The Kwoks are currently on home assignment in Canada and ask for prayers as they visit churches and associations and participate in general meetings. Pray for deeper connections and for more church engagement in Chinese Ministries as a result of their visits. Pray for good health and stamina as they navigate their itinerary, and for protection and safety as they travel. Pray for rest amidst their busy schedule, and to be refreshed as they spend time in their home country. Bruno and Kathleen Soucy and the Bolivia team Bruno and Kathleen Soucy are CBM’s Latin America Team Leaders supporting field staff, church partners and programs in Bolivia, El Salvador, Guatemala, the Dominican Republic and Cuba. They aim to develop sustainable growth and transformational impact in communities in Latin America through local churches. They also would like to see developing mission efforts and church engagement growth through SENT teams and local partnerships. Please pray for favour and open hearts as the Soucys meet with potential partners in Guatemala. Be in prayer for the Bolivia team: Patty Nacho, Tim and Kallie Hutton, and Bill and Janice Dyck, as they go through the busiest SENT season by far. Ask for strength, stamina and good health for the field staff and the SENT teams. May they encounter God more as they carry out His work and may more come to know Him through SENT. As the Soucys start the planning process for the Latin America team retreat in June, pray that the Lord guide them and show them the way. The Soucys also ask for prayers as they go through the process of purchasing a car – may the financing process be approved quickly and smoothly. Lewis and Felain Lam Lewis and Felain Lam are CBM Strategic Associates in Germany, serving in Chinese Ministries, specifically students from mainland China who seek education from German universities. They are currently preparing for the Joint Summer Retreat happening during Pentecost. The retreat will host three locations – Goettingen and Kassel, where the Lams serve, and Marburg, where CBM Field Staff Xiaodan Gang is based. Please pray for strength and direction for the Lams as they prepare for this event. Ask for unity and deep connections between participating congregations, and for many more to come to know God through the Gospel. Please pray for ears to hear and hearts to understand for those in attendance, and for guests to be refreshed through the retreat. Lastly, pray for the Lams’ health as they battle hay fever and for protection against illness during the peak of flu season.

Camp Tulakadik Fundraiser “New Docks and Decks”

Mother’s Day We are a week away from Mother’s Day when we honour our Mothers whether they are still with us or have passed away. We do this by sending a card, sending flowers, placing flowers on a grave or any number of other ways. Today and May 5 th the Gideons have Mother’s Day cards and In Memory cards available. A display with these cards will be set up by the Gideons in the foyer. Take one of these cards and donate to the Gideons and by doing so, to place bibles in her Honour. “What a way to honour our Mothers - in a manner that has eternal value.” Thank you for your continued support of the Gideon Ministry. Andrew and Helen Hopper Gideon Members

This year the camp is in desperate need of new docks. The current ones have been repaired numerous times (boards replaced etc) and are not fit to be put out this season. These new docks would be used in a variety of ways from helping campers and families to enter an d exit canoes and kayaks, to helping give our lifeguard the best vantage point to see those enjoying the water. These docks are key to us in developing our waterfront for campers. The dock and deck are a vital aspect of our summer ministry to Camp We are asking you as the congregation of Sussex Baptist to take on the project of raising enough funds to enable this project to move forward. Whatever we raise as a church family will be matched by an anonymous donor to a maximum of $ 2,500.00. In essence we could raise $ 5000.00 to complete this project. Your donations for this project can be given to Alfie Smith, Ken Reicker or Andrew Hopper. Please make your cheque out to Camp Tulakadik. Please DO NOT write on your cheque that this donation is for the new docks and decks. If you place cash in your envelop please make sure your name and address is on the outside of the envelop so a receipt can be issued for your donation. Receipts will be issued by Camp Tulakadik. It would be appreciated if you could possibly have your donations in by the end of May. Your continued support by donating to these projects is certainly appreciated by Camp Tulakadik! Thank you - Alfie, Ken and Andrew
