PM Modi Visits Hospital to Meet Injured Passengers, Says Probe Ordered, Guilty Won’t Be Spared

Agency News: Odisha

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday afternoon reached Odisha’s Balasore where over 260 people died in a train accident. Derailment of Coromandel Express train caused one of India’s deadly railway accidents, government sources said, adding that prima facie no case of sabotage has been found. “It was the Coromandel train that derailed and impacted remaining two trains — a goods train and Yeshvantpur Express. Coromandel was moving in full speed from Chennai to Howrah. The culprit train was one and rest are fait accompli,” government sources said. They added that since the down line has less damage, it will resume in 12 hours. The death toll in Odisha train accident has gone up to 261 as India witnesses one of its worst railway disasters.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to arrive on Saturday afternoon, while West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee was at the spot a few hours ago. Earlier in the day, Railway minister Ashwini Vaishnaw and

Parbandhak Committee, the premier Sikh religious body, has slammed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for comparing his ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ to Guru Nanak’s ‘Udasis’, during his address in California. The leader could face more trouble as another Sikh organisation, Sikh Coordination Committee of US, has decided to protest during his tour of New York. Rahul’s (Gandhi) statement was an expression of his shortsightedness and poor knowledge of Sikh history, said SGPC president Harjinder Singh Dhami. He advised Gandhi to refrain from rubbing salt in the wounds of the Sikhs and avoid clashing with the community’s history, personalities of Sikh Gurus and Sikh concerns. “He talks about uniting India but should

remember the Sikh genocide by his party in 1984. Were the 1984 anti-Sikh riots executed at the behest of his parent party leaders for uniting the nation? He must clarify it,” Dhami said. “It could never be justified to compare Rahul’s (Gandhi) political tour with that of Guru Nanak Dev’s ‘Udasis’. It has hurt Sikh sentiments. Basically, Congress ideology was anti-Punjab. Many issues like bifurcation of Punjabispeaking areas, water problem or Punjab’s capital issue cropped up during Congress tenure at the Centre, which could never be rectified to date,” Grewal said. Activists of a US-based Sikh coordination committee said they raised slogans against the Congress leader in California for comparing his ‘yatra’ to that of Guru Nanak. “He will face the same opposition in New York as well.

So, if all the non-BJP parties come together, this bill can be defeated,” he added. The AAP supremo has been reaching out to leaders of non-BJP parties to garner support against the ordinance so that the Centre’s bid to replace it through a bill is defeated when it is brought in Parliament. So far Kejriwal has met Telangana CM K Chandrashekhar Rao, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) chief Sharad Pawar,

West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee, Communist Party of India (Marxist) general secretary Sitaram Yechury, Shiv Sena (UBT) supremo Uddhav Thackeray and Bihar CM Nitish Kumar. However, Congress leadership is yet to meet Kejriwal as some of its state units especially Punjab and Delhi have raised objections over support to the AAP. “I have sought an appointment with Congress President Kharge ji and Rahul ji, and I am waiting for their response. I am confident that Congress should support us,” Kejriwal had said. Kejriwal also thanked Soren for assuring his support against the ordinance. “I would also urge other parties to come against this undemocratic ordinance.

Muslim League is Not Secular But Rather an OffShoot of Jinnah’s Party That Partitioned India

Fencing along Ahmedabad – Mumbai rail route to be over by June 2023; 160 km/h speed by April 2024

The Indian National Congress (INC), which was instrumental in the Independence movement, has today been reduced to a ‘two-digit’ party after having ruled for over six decades. The rise of Narendra Modi has changed the political discourse of the country as people have started realising they were cheated by the Congress in the name of secularism. The meaning of secularism nowadays has become abusing the cultural and historical ethos of the majority Hindu community. On the other hand, the Congress is yet to learn a lesson from its reduction to 52 seats in the Lok Sabha where it used to have 421 MPs. Its top leader, Rahul Gandhi, has yet again blundered — and that too in a foreign land — to describe the Muslim League as a “secular” party.Let’s dive into history to see what similarities exist between Mohammed Ali Jinnah’s Muslim League and Kerala’s Muslim League. Jinnah had two juniors in South India: B Pokar Sahib Bahadur and M Mohammad Ismail. Both of them oversaw the activities of Jinnah’s Muslim League in South India under his guidance. The Muslim League had a significant triumph in Madras Province (present-day Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Karnataka, and Andhra Pradesh) in the 1945-46 elections. It gained all 28 Muslim-reserved seats in Madras Presidency, whereas the Constituent Assembly, also known as the Central Assembly, where three seats were designated for Muslims, the Muslim League won all three. If you believe that following the country’s split, these Jinnah devotees must have gone to Pakistan, you are mistaken. They not only stayed in India after partition, but they also re-joined Jinnah’s Muslim League and resurrected it in India. On March 10, 1948, just seven months after Independence, M Mohammad Ismail and B Pokar convened a conference of Muslim League leaders. This gathering was held in Madras’ Rajaji Hall and was attended by all the major leaders of the Muslim League who did not travel to Pakistan after Partition but were planning to sow the seeds of enmity once more by remaining in India. Jinnah’s Muslim League gave birth to the Muslim League of Kerala, which was fostered and strengthened after Independence by Jinnah’s disciples. It is strange that people who call themselves the builders of secularism have not asked why there is a Muslim League in our nation. Interestingly, after India was divided, these people in South India stayed back to further strengthen the ‘Ghazwae-Hind.’ On March 10, 1948, the Muslim League was re-formed in India to carry out this purpose and was renamed the Indian Union Muslim League (IUML). M Mohammad Ismail was elected as the country’s first president and was given the title Quaid-e-Millat, which means “leader of the country.” Just 12 days after Independence, on August 27, 1947, at the key sitting of the Constituent Assembly, Kerala Muslim League leaders B Pokar and M Mohammad Ismail, together with the rest of the Muslim League members, boldly put up a violently sectarian demand. Both asked that there be distinct designated seats for Muslims in elections throughout the country in which only Muslim candidates stand and vote. B Pokar, a disciple of Jinnah, was again elected to the Lok Sabha from Malappuram in Kerala in 1952 and Manjeri in Kerala in 1957.

The state government launched the Gujarat State Electric Vehicle Policy in 2021 with the aim of making Gujarat a manufacturing hub for electric vehicles and its related industries. With the implementation of the EV Policy, the state has witnessed a huge leap of 1475% in the registration of EVs. From a mere 7240 EVs before the launch of the EV Policy, the total number of registered EVs in Gujarat now stand at 1,18,086. Around 8858 EVs are being registered every month for the last five months. Surat has the highest number of EVs at 31,561. This is followed by 20,937 in Ahmedabad, 7648

in Vadodara, 6678 in Rajkot and 3259 in Jamnagar. Of the total registered EVs, there are 1,06,341 two-wheelers, 4093 three-wheelers, 5646 fourwheelers and 2006 amongst others. EV charging stations are being constructed at a fast pace in various cities of Gujarat. 250 new public

charging stations will be installed in the coming days. At present, there are a total of 152 charging stations in the state. The Government in collaboration with BISAG-N will provide uniform charging infrastructure and facilitate a smoother charging station site selection process.

Afraid of Pakistan’s boycott from 2023 ODI World Cup, ICC wants written participation guarantee from PCB

The ICC is seeking a guarantee from Pakistan to participate in the ODI World Cup 2023 amidst the turmoil surrounding the Asia Cup, according to a report. Pakistan had been selected as the hosts for the Asia Cup, but India declined to participate due to security concerns. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) suggested a hybrid model with matches in Pakistan and the UAE, which was rejected by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI). There have been calls to boycott India’s participation in the ODI World Cup if they do not attend the Asia Cup in Pakistan. To settle the situation, ICC representatives, including

Chairman Greg Barclay and CEO Geoff Allardice, have gone to Lahore to seek assurances from the PCB. The ICC is concerned that if the hybrid model is accepted for the Asia Cup, the PCB might request the same for the World Cup. Both the ICC and BCCI want Pakistan to play matches in India for the success of Indo-Pakistan matches and the tournament itself.
