In the final stage of the program, you will select your preferred areas in which to experience your preceptorship. You will be matched with a Registered Practical Nurse (RPN) and work alongside them to put it all together.
It all wraps up with a placement in a healthcare facility.
The curriculum focuses on leadership and communication — along with core courses in ethics, anatomy, physiology, pathology and pharmacology. In a risk-free lab setting, you’ll practice responding to calls based on real-life scenarios.

As a skilled technician, you’ll find work in just about any industrial sector, from residential construction to power generation.

Our Timmins Campus is located on the shores of Porcupine Lake in Timmins, Ontario. This campus includes an on-site residence, the Integrated Emergency Services Complex, and the main campus building. We have a mix of classrooms, studentfriendly spaces, and labs for all types of programs, including health, technology, trades, emergency services, and early childhood education.
It is also home to our Integrated Emergency Services Complex, where our Pre-Service Firefighter, Police Foundations, Paramedic, and other Health Sciences programs benefit from hands-on, practical learning in scenarios, mock trials, and other simulations.

Our Haileybury Campus is located on the original grounds of the Haileybury School of Mines, where Northern College’s story began over a century ago. The campus has expanded to include the Veterinary Sciences Centre, which houses a state-of-the-art veterinary care facility, the kennels for our vet sciences programs and an on-site residence. Students come from across Ontario to study in the modern Veterinary Sciences Centre at the Haileybury Campus. Get training in state-of-the-art labs with the latest technology, like our underwater treadmill. Whether you like small town living, arts, cultural or the great outdoors, Temiskaming Shores has it all, with postcard vistas as a bonus. Kirkland Lake is home to our Welding programs and our Environmental Technician –Water and Wastewater Systems Operations program.

Our northernmost Campus, Moosonee is situated at the mouth of the Moose River, and James Bay, with many learners completing their studies through our Access Centres in the communities of Moose Factory, Attawapiskat, Fort Albany, and Kashechewan.
Moosonee is surrounded by countless miles of wilderness and muskeg, with opportunities for swimming, boating, fossil hunting, snowshoeing, and even simply exploring this enthralling natural environment. Moosonee’s unique location allows for some exciting opportunities that aren’t possible anywhere else in Ontario, including watching seals and beluga whales swimming in the Moose River.

Each of our four campuses offer Indigenous advisors and Indigenous student lounges, along with traditional and cultural events, sharing and healing circles. We issue over 2 million dollars to our students each year, to ensure they have the financial support they need to succeed as they undertake their studies with us.
