END OF YEAR STRUDDYS MAGAZINE

JACOB STRUDWICK - CEO

LETTER FROM THE CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

This year was a year of growth for us here at Struddys. In our 49th year we welcomed many changes, embraced the new, and committed ourselves to continued learning. We’ve reached new heights in 2024, pushing the boundaries and continuing to lead the way in the sports apparel industry. Despite our growth, our focus has not swayed from grassroots clubs and schools. Our mission remains the same, delivering superior apparel, build strong relationships and support our community to succeed.

As we close out 2024 and reflect on yet another successful year, I have to acknowledge the continued support we receive from our community including our skilled staff, community partners, and valued customers. To our customers, many of you have been with us since the early days at our Sunnybank store, and your loyalty has allowed us the opportunity to showcase the very best of what we do. It is you, our customers, who are our motivation behind our mission of creating quality, groundbreaking garments. We

simply wouldn’t be here without you. To our invaluable staff, who have been a crucial part of our success in 2024 and each year before, thank you for all you do. Your dedication and efforts are the reason we are able to deliver on our promises to our customers. It’s been a pleasure to see our Struddys Squad team grow this year from just under 100 to over 110 across all three of our locations in Townsville, South East Queensland, and Wollongong.

Our growth in 2024 is something that I am truly proud of. With the addition of our inaugural 10K Cup, we saw the Struddys brand successfully move even further into the Netball space. We continued our domination in grassroots Touch Football and Rugby League nationally, and had all 4 teams in the National Schoolboy and Schoolgirl Cup Grand Final be members of our Struddys Squad for the first time ever. We continued to invest in First Nations sport and communities, building on longstanding relationships with members of the Indigenous sporting community such as Deadly Choices, Arthur Beatson Foundation Murri Carnival, and Koori Knockout. We continued our support of school sport, partnering with Queensland Representative School Sport, Regional School Sport Associations in both Queensland and New South Wales, and School Sport Australia. As is typical, with growth came change. Perhaps the most notable change were our 2 major moves. Our Wollongong NSW office moved and settled into a bigger and better warehouse in Bulli. Our QLD Headquarters made a massive move into our new

3000sqm office in Yatala. We also begun construction on our Yatala HQ in October, which will give us the capacity bring all of our SEQ staff back together under one roof as of early 2025.

As we look to 2025, I’m excited for what the future holds. We have many exciting additions to look forward to, notably our recent partnership with the Ella 7s tournament in NSW as well as further plans underway to build stronger relationships with our indigenous partners. The final stages of our move into our new HQ at Yatala are also in progress, positioning us for even greater success in the years to come. Internally, we’re investing in updates to our accounting systems, online platforms, and design stations—all with the goal of enhancing the customer experience and continuing to bring Struddys’ high-quality products directly to your doorstep. We’re also expanding our reach across school and club carnivals throughout the country, ensuring that Struddys merchandise continues to be a key part of your sporting experience.

Whether you are a customer, staff member, or community partner, your contribution to Struddys in 2024 has been invaluable. Together, we are building something special; one garment at a time.

Here’s to another successful year ahead!

SUSTAINABILITY EFFORTS

HELPING TO CREATE A BETTER WORLD. ONE GARMENT AT A TIME

At Struddys, we’re committed to is to improving access to and sourcing of sustainable and responsible apparel. With this focus in mind, we’ve enacted our Sustainability Action Plan, helping us lead the way in ethical and sustainable manufacturing. But have you ever wondered exactly how we achieve this?

Struddys are dedicated to responsible sourcing of our materials, ensuring our supply chain meets national and global guidelines. We achieve this by verifying supply chain transparency, human rights and labour compliance, targeted gender equality, and by supporting Australianbased and Australian-made suppliers. Furthermore, we’re constantly striving to create better methods for waste reduction and management in our product development and manufacturing. In accordance, we’ve begun the journey towards a goal of zero-waste by reusing existing plastics, yarns, and textiles to create new, sustainable garments and products.

To this end, we’ve invested significant efforts to create EcoFlex, a recycled polyester garment made out of 100% plastic bottles. Despite EcoFlex’s humble formulation, the fabric itself maintains the same look, feel, durability and quality as our traditional material S-Tech, making EcoFlex a convenient sustainable substitution for our consumers. Each garment made from EcoFlex contains roughly 8-10 landfill-bound plastic bottles, providing a sustainable alternative to disposal.

Our adherence to landfill disposal alternatives are also evident in our support for regional communities. Each year, we give excess stock a new life by donating it to communities in need. Our shipments have gone to regional communities within Australia, and internationally. This initiative not only reduces landfill waste, but provides aid to vulnerable people in need.

Our support for communities doesn’t stop here, we proudly lead initiatives that support girls and women’s sport through inclusive programs, provide coach support to develop more inclusive experiences for their teams, invest in First Nations communities, and promote healthy choices as part of our aim to give back to the community.

Our Sustainability Action Plan is centred around uplifting communities and protecting the environment. To protect the future of sport we must also protect the future of our planet. That’s why Struddys is devoted to thoughtful production, manufacturing, and waste management; one garment at a time.
