WHAT IS THIS ALL ABOUT?

Simply put, we wanted to create a preview magazine for the upcoming National School Boys & Girls Rugby League campaign. Throughout the magazine you’ll find each teams notable achievements from 2023, facts about each schools profile, and of course some interesting tid-bits that you may not have known about some of the biggest school football programs out there.

We love nothing more than celebrating our Partners and Customers successes and triumphs, and we hope you enjoy our magazine!

YOUR GLOSSARY FOR SCHOOL BOYS LEAGUES QLD

QLD BOYS FORMAT:

Allan Langer Trophy - The top tier competition for school boys footy in South East QLD. Features the top 8 programs from the Gold Coast region to Sunshine Coast and everywhere in between. The top 6 teams each year in the Langer Trophy keep their spot in the league, while the bottom 2 go into a qualifier series against the winners of the lower tier competitions in South East QLD.

Aaron Payne Cup - The top tier compeition for Central QLD and Regional North QLD Teams. Teams must qualify each year by winning their local competitions.

Dolphins Cup - The top tier competition for North QLD teams.

Gee Cup - A 2nd tier competition featuring teams from South East QLD. Top 2 teams compete in qualifiers the following year for entry into the Langer Trophy.

Devere Cup - A 2nd tier competition featuring teams from regional South East QLD. Top 2 teams compete in qualifiers the following year for entry into the Langer Trophy.

Walters Cup - The top tier Year 10 competition for South East QLD teams.

Hancock Cup - The top tier Year 9 competition for South East QLD teams.

Renouf Shield - The top tier Year 8 competition for South East QLD teams.

Struddys Cup - The feeder competition for Years 7, 8, 9 for qualification into top divisions.

Phil Hall Cup - State Championship Final which features the winner of the Langer Trophy vs the winner of Dolphins Cup Champion vs Aaron Payne Cup Champion. The winner progresses to the National Championship Final.

CONFRO - The Confraternity Carnival is a week long competition over multiple divisions featuring independant schools from around QLD. This competition has over 50 competing teams and therefore is very prestigous to win.

KINETIC Titans Schools League - Yr 7/8, 9/10. and Opens local Gold Coast High Schools competition. Winner of the Opens D1 takes part in National Schoolboy Cup Qualifying the following year.

YOUR GLOSSARY FOR SCHOOL BOYS LEAGUES NSW

NSW BOYS FORMAT:

Peter Mulholland Cup - The premier competition for all NSW teams. 20 teams qualify through their own regional competitions. Teams are seeded appropriatly according to their records and must compete in pools of 4 teams with top 2 proceeding to the knockout finals. The winner of the PMC go on to play the QLD State Champion in the National Championship Game.

Michael Buettner Shield - State wide Sports High Schools U13 competition.

Buckley Shield - State wide Sports High Schools U14 competition.

Chase Stanley Shield - State wide Sports High SChools U15 competition.

University Shield - State wide Sports High Schools Open competition.

Sydney Catholic Schools Championships - Split into 4 conferences in the Sydney region with a finals series to determine a winner, over 50 teams compete for the rights to be SCS Champion.

Country Cup - Split into Northern and Southern Conferences from U13 to Opens, features regional teams from across NSW.

YOUR GLOSSARY FOR SCHOOL GIRLS LEAGUES QLD

QLD GIRLS FORMAT:

National Schoolgirl Cup Northern Conference - The premier 13-a-side competition for schoolgirls footy. Split into 3 pools, South East QLD, Central QLD, and Northern QLD, the winners of each pool playoff for the QLD State Championship with the winner going on to play the Southern Conference (NSW & VIC) in the National Championship Grand Final.

Karyn Murphy Cup - The premier 9-a-side competition in QLD. The format is similar to the National Schoolgirl Cup with the same 3 regions of QLD split into local pools, although finishes after the State Champion is crowned. There are also more teams competing than its 13-a-side counterpart.

CONFRO - The Confraternity Carnival is a week long competition over multiple divisions featuring independant schools from around QLD. This competition has over 20 competing teams in the girls division and therefore is very prestigous to win.

*Sidenote - If a school registers their team for the 13-a-side competition, the squad lists presented are ineligible for 9-a-side play and vice versa. Schools are allowed to submit teams for both competitions but they must have no cross-overs in players assigned.

KINETIC Titans Schools League - Yr 7/8, 9/10. and Opens local Gold Coast High Schools competition. Winner of the Opens D1 represents the southern region in the State Finals for the National Schoolgirl Cup Northern Conference Finals.

YOUR GLOSSARY FOR SCHOOL GIRLS LEAGUES NSW

NSW GIRLS FORMAT:

National Schoolgirl Cup Northern Conference - The premier 13-a-side competition for schoolgirls footy. 8 teams are split into 2 pools of 4 who compete in a round robin setting. Top 2 teams in each pool go through to the knock out finals with the winner of the grand final winnin the State Championship. This winner then goes on to play the Northern Conference (QLD) winner in the National Championship Grand Final.

Sydney Catholic Schools Championships - Split into 4 conferences in the Sydney region with a finals series to determine a winner, over 50 teams compete for the rights to be SCS Champion.

Country Cup - Split into Northern and Southern Conferences from U13 to Opens, features regional teams from across NSW.

*Sidenote - some schools opt for local tournament play as opposed to state or national competition. These local competition players then can compete in represenative football such as the NSWCHS , NSWCIS, & NSWCCC teams which makes up the bulk of their footy for the year.

JACOB HALANGAHU AMBASSADOR SPOTLIGHT

JACOB IS ONE OF THE MOST DOMINANT SCHOOLBOY PLAYERS IN THE WORLD. HAVING ALREADY MADE THE AUSTRALIAN SCHOOL BOYS NATIONAL TEAM IN HIS YEAR 11 CAMPAIGN, THE BIG SECOND ROWER IS SET TO BE EVEN MORE IN THE SPOTLIGHT FOR THE 2024 SEASON.

WE WISH OUR AMBASSADOR JACOB THE BEST OF LUCK AS HE LEADS PATRICIAN BROTHERS BLACKTOWN (KITTED OUT IN STRUDDYS), TO REDEMPTION IN 2025 IN THE NATIONAL SCHOOLBOYS CUP. WE KNOW YOU WILL SMASH IT!

SECOND ROW POSITION

AMBASSADOR SPOTLIGHT

AMBASSADOR ISAIAH TE PAIRI HAS BEEN DESCRIBED BY NRL SCOUTS AS A BEAST. THE YEAR 9 CENTRE FROM MABEL PARK SHS IS KNOWN TO BE A TRY SCORING MACHINE, OFTEN CARRYING HIS TEAMS TO VICTORY WITH HIS OFFENSIVE MAGIC. THE SKY IS THE LIMIT FOR THIS YOUNG MAN AS HE NAVIGATES HIS HIGH SCHOOL FOOTY.

AMBASSADOR SPOTLIGHT

AMBASSADOR INDIE BOSTOCK IS SET TO RETAIN HER SPOT IN THE ASSRL NATIONAL TEAM THIS YEAR. THE DOMINANT, HARD HITTING CENTRE WILL THEN LOOK TO TAKE HER TALENT TO THE NRLW WITH THE DRAGONS IN 2025 AFTER HER FINAL YEAR OF SCHOOLGIRL FOOTY. INDIE IS KNOWN FOR HER BIG HITS AND SHE’S READY AGAIN TO PUT THE WORLD ON NOTICE.
