7 WAYS TO KICKSTART YOUR NEW YEAR The new year is finally here and for some of us out there it feels an awful lot like we blinked in January of 2021, and then suddenly, it’s January again. Covid has made it really difficult for us to enjoy taking things slow, but we can still give it a try. Here’s 7 things you can do in the new year that might help you take control of 2022 and harness some positive energy that you can bring into the new year!”
1. Start A Business Now it might seem intimidating, especially if you’re a teenager with not a penny to your name, but we promise that there’s still some small-scale options that can get you started in saving for your future, that doesn’t involve working at McDonalds! If you’re a creative person with the means and will to monetise your craft, whether that be simple resin works, digital art, or polymer clay, now’s the time to consider doing commissions. If you like photography, have you ever considered taking photos for money, even as a beginner? Research, research, research! Take a look at your skills and hobbies. Even if you think it’s silly, you might just be able to turn your hobby into a side hustle to generate that bit of revenue!
2. Commit to Fitness New Year, new me am I right? 2022 could be the year you finally reach those personal fitness goals. Whether that be switching up your diet so that you’re making healthier decisions, making the choice to buy that half-a-gallon water bottle to get better at staying hydrated, or by picking up those weights you bought at the start at the pandemic and working on getting into shape. Creating a schedule that works for you, as something you could realistically commit to daily is a good way to avoid burn out from your exercise routine.
3. Deep Clean Your Personal Space New Year’s depression is real. Don’t carry that pent-up negative energy into the new year. Instead, open all your windows and sweep the negative vibes away. Dust and wipe your surround workspace and spray the air with whatever infused water mixture you want. Let the new year start with your personal space completely cleansed and refreshed.
4. Learn how to cook on a budget Trust me, whether you’re planning on going backpacking around the world or are one of those unlucky souls stressing about living in a university dorm, you NEED to start learning how to cook nutritionally, or at least edible meals... on a budget of course! Start saving money in the new year and save yourself from eating nothing but pot noodles and McDonalds to the point where your body is screaming for nutrition.
