‘Straight Outta Edmonton’was created by the 21K Digital Media community. It was felt that Edmonton over the past decade has had a negative image due to the serious youth violence thats taken place. During the past 2 years it has been an unprecedented and challenging environment. 21K Digital Media Hub was established in Edmonton Green to create a safe space to nurture the creative minds of young people living in Edmonton, which is one of the most deprived areas of Enifield, that felt the full force of the COVID Pandemic Lockdown. Their Education was disrupted, and many lived in overcrowded accommodation. Youth unemployment has been exacerbated due to the lack of high value apprenticeships, and many have left school without knowing what future they hold. ‘Straight Outta Edmonton’ will do its best to campaign for a better future for young people living within the Enfield/Tottenham area including improving their employment prospects. We will be running a series of digital and employability boot camps in 2022 to enable young people to continue developing their digital and creative skills as well as career planning support. ‘Straight Outta of Edmonton’ has a highly experienced team consisting of: Graham Ogunleye. Andre Thompson, Shirley Mason and Colin Lee-Own who have their own expertise to make ‘Straight Outta of Edmonton’ A success. We look forward to 2022 and are excited to be establishing the’Straight Outta Edmonton’ Magazine.
