It's been celebrations galore in Conkers this week!
We arrived in on Monday morning to discover that all our chrysalises had hatched into a flutter of beautiful butterflies! Just like proud parents we watched as Miss Kelsh set them free!

Next, we received a birthday card for 'Bella bear' from her mummy, in Italy. Not only did we need to organise a party, but it also needed to be Italian themed as it turned out both 'Bella bear' and 'Billy bear' would be jetting off to Bella's hometown of Venice in Italy! We got to work researching all things Italian. We soon found out that the Italian flag is made up of the colours red, white and green, Italy is shaped like a boot kicking a ball, the Venetian carnival celebrates Springtime, and most importantly pizza is a famous Italian food!
On Tuesday we set off to buy all pizza ingredients from the shop to get cooking. We made our very own Venetian masks, elaborately decorated with water colours, feathers and sparkles.

The big day arrived and, with our special guest Elisabetta confirmed to attend, on Wednesday afternoon we wore our masks and waved our flags down onto the field for pizza, ice cream and our Italian lesson.

There was no rest for us on Thursday, as first thing in the morning we spotted an ex-tadpole, now tiny froglet perched on a rock, out of the water. Time for them to be released back into the pond, otherwise they'll all be hopping round nursery by the time we're back after half term!
Rounding up the week nicely - Friday colour run fun-day!!!!!!!!!!!!!
