On Saturday evening the Friends of St Peter’s 2-8 held their charity summer ball in the Memorial Hall at school. It was a fabulous evening with delicious food prepared by Craig Robinson and his team. The theme for the evening was ‘Great Gatsby’ and the hall was dressed beautifully by the Friends – it looked fantastic. The evening was a huge success in aid of Zarach our school charity, chosen by the children. My huge thanks to Mrs Houlston, Mrs LeeBursnall, Mrs Appleby, Mrs Parkin, Mrs Woolf and Mrs Dryden for all their hard work which culminated into a truly wonderful evening. The ball raised in the region of £4,000 for the charity which is an astonishing amount and will contribute significantly towards reducing bed poverty for those less fortunate than ourselves.
by the school choir (with more than 80 members). The children all sang beautifully and played a variety of different musical instruments. It was delightful to watch the children perform, they displayed so much confidence playing in front of their audience, all with a smile on their face. A huge thank you to all of the peripatetic music teachers who teach the children at school, particularly Mrs Leaman-Brown and Mrs Hayley who assisted the children at the concert. Also, a huge thanks to Mrs Hayden for organising three wonderful music concerts, and a very big thank you to all of our talented children who performed and to our audiences who celebrated all of the children in the concerts. Bravo!
available for the first week back after half term. I am just liaising with Tempest regarding this so apologies for the delay in sharing this photo with you all.
As you will have heard Mr Walker was able to share some exciting news on international schools with the St Peter’s community this week. Our first international school, Yingya St Peter’s School is due to open this September on the Chinese island of Hainan.

Today we had a charity colour run in aid of Zarach. The children had a wonderful time throwing coloured powder at each other, decorating their white tshirts. Huge thanks to Miss Flockhart for arranging this activity and to Mrs McCurrie who ensured all the powder paint and t-shirts arrived in plenty of time. What a lovely way to end this half of the summer term. This week we have been interviewing prospective candidates for our Reception and Year 2 teaching vacancies. All of the candidates were excellent, and we hope to be in a position to announce the new teachers the first week back after the half term break.

We hope to have details of how you can order the Whole School Photo
This is a fantastic project for St Peter’s allowing us to increase much needed revenue away from school fees. Sadly, I was unable to join members of the leadership team who accompanied Mr Bill Wooley, Chair of Governors on their recent trip to Hainan to sign the co-operation agreement. I’m sure this will be the beginning of a wonderful relationship with Yinga St Peter’s. This half term has been incredibly busy and the children have had fabulous learning adventures. My huge thanks to all of the teachers, teaching assistants, support staff and all staff who work at school creating an inspirational place for the children. I hope you all have a brilliant half term and I look forward to welcoming you back on Monday 5th June to start the final half term of the school year.
With my best wishes
