MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

A massive congratulations to our incredible Year 3 and Year 5 children who have completed all of the NAPLAN assessments A special thank you to Mrs Fardig and Miss Hindle for ensuring the children were prepared and supporting them through the assessment period.

I was also super proud of the children that represented St Michael's at the Inter-school Swimming Carnival last week. It was great to see the effort they applied and sportsmanship they demonstrated throughout the day There were some wonderful individual achievements and overall, we finished in 4th place. Thank you to Mrs Siciliano for her hard work preparing the team and assisting with the running of the carnival, and Mrs Gorton for helping on the day.

Holy Week

This week, we have 'Journeyed with Jesus’ through some key events that occurred during Holy Week These liturgies and whole school Mass have been so beautiful, and I thank the staff and children for helping us to honour this very important week in the Church calendar Holy Week reminds us that Jesus died for us, and without His resurrection, St Michael's and the Catholic Church would not exist. Thank you to the parents that also joined us for each liturgy and our whole school Mass.

Farewell and Welcome

I would like to take this opportunity to farewell Miss Emily Hindle Emily has taken a position with Eastern Metropolitan Regional Council (EMRC) as Waste Education Project Officer. Emily will take up her new role at the conclusion of Term 1. I thank Emily for her dedication and commitment to St Michael's over the last 2 years and wish her well for the future.

I am very excited to announce that Miss Doireann Ni Dhunai has been appointed to teach Year 5 for the remainder of 2024, starting in Term 2 Doireann has experience teaching in several Catholic schools in Ireland and we are excited for her to join us. Please make her feel welcome.

FAITH FOR THE JOURNEY

Heavenly Father,

As we approach the solemn days of Good Friday and the joyous celebration of Easter Sunday, help us to prepare our hearts and minds

Guide us in reflection and prayer, that we may truly understand the sacrifice of your Son, and the hope that His resurrection brings

Grant us the strength to embrace the lessons of forgiveness, love, and renewal during this sacred time May we walk in the footsteps of Jesus with humility and grace, ready to share His message of peace and salvation with others

We ask for your blessings upon our school community, that we may grow closer to you and to one another through our observance of these holy days Amen
