MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL

Dear Families & Friends,

Last week was a true celebration of what makes our community so special. On Friday morning, Wayne Bull Executive Director of CEWA and recent recipient of the Order of Australia visited St Michael’s. This was Wayne’s final school visit before he retires from 47 years of service to Catholic Education. Wayne loved connecting with parents and staff whom he had previously taught and was so impressed by our students, staff and grounds. I am always so proud to tell everyone just how amazing St Michael’s is and as he was leaving, Wayne described our school as a shining example of how great Catholic education can be.

We then had an amazing Friday night at our P&F Quiz Night. Thank you to our sponsors and to all of the parents and friends who dressed up and came along to support the event. We raised $7060.25 to go towards our Creative Connections Project.

Sincere thanks to Jess, Mahoney, Laura, Marianne & everyone who worked behind the scenes to bring the night to fruition. Special thanks to our amazing house band, Parental As Anything – you are all exceptionally talented!

Please keep our Year 3 students in your thoughts and prayers as they prepare to receive the Sacrament of Reconciliation this Sunday. We wish them all the best for this special celebration.

As we approach the school holidays, I want to wish everyone two-weeks filled with quality time as a family, and many moments of rest and rejuvenation. I look forward to welcoming our students back on Tuesday 22 July.

May you all have a lovely weekend.

FAITH FOR THE JOURNEY

Loving God,

As we enter the final week of this school term, we pause to give thanks for all that we have shared and achieved Thank You for the learning, the friendships and the support that has carried us through.

With one week to go before the holidays, give us the strength to finish well, the patience to care for one another and the joy that comes from knowing we are growing in Your love. May the upcoming break be a time of rest, renewal and safety for all in our St Michael’s community.

We ask this through Christ our Lord Amen.

EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR VISIT

Last week we were honoured to welcome the Executive Director of CEWA, Mr Wayne Bull, on the final stop of his farewell tour before retirement on the 4th of July. After 47 years of dedicated service to Catholic Education, Mr Bull enjoyed a warm welcome at our school assembly, presented by our Year 5 class. He spent time chatting with staff, students and parents, and was taken on a personalised tour of our beautiful school grounds, founded in 1914. It was a memorable occasion to celebrate his remarkable contribution and we wish him all the best for his retirement.

P&F QUIZ NIGHT

The P&F 1920s Great Gatsby Quiz Night held on Friday was a roaring success, filled with laughter, friendly competition and fabulous costumes.
