Foundation Chair Report
Purpose and Philanthropic Impact
It is with great pleasure that I present to you the first Annual Report on the philanthropic endeavours of the St Margaret’s College Foundation. As the Chair of The Foundation, I am honoured to share the impactful initiatives and meaningful contributions we have made over the past year.
The Foundation was established to encourage a culture and tradition of generosity. We are committed to supporting St Margaret’s College (SMC) to realise its vision - creating empathetic, confident and connected global citizens, who strive to make a positive difference.
The Foundation has recently developed our strategic priorities. We are now focused on bringing greater clarity and transparency to The Foundation with a specific fund structure that will create meaningful longterm contributions to SMC whilst also recognising ongoing priority areas and opportunities for giving.
This fund structure will see the allocation of two main funds: an Endowment Fund to be held in perpetuity to ensure the long-term financial sustainability of SMC; and the other will be interest based funding, together with resourcing from our Special Projects Fund to be used in supporting our strategic fundraising priorities.
None of our accomplishments to date would have been possible without the generous support of our donors and supporters. Their unwavering commitment to our mission has enabled us to make a meaningful difference. Thank you.
As we look ahead, we remain steadfast in our commitment to growing bright futures and continuing to create a legacy for the future, changing the lives of remarkable young women. We are excited about the possibilities that lie ahead and are constantly exploring new avenues to expand our impact.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank my fellow Trustees - Greg Anderson, Ingrid Taylor, Cindy McEwan, Fionn Moore, Diana Patchett, Martin Cudd and Jeremy Flood for their time and dedication to The Foundation.
At our recent Annual General Meeting in June 2023, while remaining on the board, I stepped down from my role as Chair. It gives me great pleasure to announce Ingrid Taylor as the incoming Chair. Ingrid has been an integral part of The Foundation and has served in various capacities on the Old Girls’ Committee and the Trust Board. Her exceptional leadership skills, strategic insight and unwavering passion for SMC makes her the ideal candidate to guide our Foundation in the next chapter.
