CHESAPEAKE REGION CHAPTER’S

Supporting the Community! 2020 was a challenge for everyone. Early in the pandemic, The Chesapeake Region Chapter of CAI recognized that our community members were in desperate need of help. So many people lost their jobs and became food insecure. The Social Committee provided community service by partnering with local organizations to set up a virtual food drive as well as a virtual clean up event in our communities and neighborhoods. The Maryland Food Bank has provided food assistance to those in need for 42 years. That longevity, expertise and strong relationships with community partners allowed them to continue serving the community throughout the pandemic. The Chesapeake Region Chapter of CAI began their virtual food drive in April of 2020. Our first push was to raise funds through our own unique link on the Maryland Food Bank Website. From that effort, we raised $1,758 from 19 individual and corporate donations. Our next big push began in mid-April of 2021 in honor of Earth Week. We encouraged all our chapter members to do a clean-up in their community. To raise funds for the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, the Chapter donated $5 for every unique photo posted on social media. Thanks to everyone’s efforts, we were able to donate $250! The Social Committee is looking forward to increasing our community involvement into 2022.
