Adelphe

Adelphe is the St Catherine’s Christian group (Cru Group) in the senior school. It is a place where everyone is welcome to join and learn more about Jesus and the Bible over lunch.

This year’s Faith Week theme was ‘The Best Bargain Ever’, and Adelphe girls had lots of fun organising activities to suit. There were plenty of bargains to be found around the school, and even a surprise appearance from the Walmart yodelling kid. The theme reminded us that God’s love is in fact the best bargain ever: his love and blessings are worth more than we could ever imagine, and are ours for free.

Apart from weekly Adelphe meetings, there were some big events during the year. Adelphe girls attended and hosted InterCru events, meeting with students from Christian groups at SCEGGS, Cranbrook School, The Scots College, St Andrew’s Cathedral School and Kambala to pray for each other and encourage one another to live for Jesus.

Adelphe Escape, a three-day camp, was held at the end of Term 1 at beautiful Elanora Heights. It was a wonderful time away with interesting talks by guest speaker Miss Renee Smith, discussion groups, games, craft and a ‘Childhood Character’ theme night. It was a great weekend with the chance to grow in fellowship with each other.

We are very thankful to God for our fantastic year at Adelphe.
