Year 12 mentor group

Everyone says Year 12 is ‘the best, most emotional and hectic year’, often comparing it to a roller coaster or a marathon. It is safe to say, in 2018, the year certainly did not disappoint.

Among our stated highlights in the yearbook was singing Life is a Highwa y in the annual Clubs and Choirs competition. Although not much practice went into this performance, the smiles, memories and happiness of this song are things none of us will forget, and we thank Alexandra Bradley for creating and conducting this masterpiece.

There were many other ‘lasts’ throughout the year, to conclude our amazing high school experience. These included our interhouse swimming carnival and the athletics carnival later in the year. We also contributed to the community through service activities including the Wayside Chapel’s ‘Nothing says I love you like a clean pair of undies’ drive and putting together bags of toiletries for Share the Dignity.

We would like to sincerely thank the P&F Association for supporting us throughout the year. This included the newly covered couches in the common room, which provided a physical and emotional space to relax and escape the never-ending train of the HSC. The bottomless bowls of fruit, snacks, Milo, tea and coffee provided during our final exam block also did not go unnoticed or uneaten.

During Term 3, we had many unforgettable events that we will cherish. These included the Valedictory Assembly; the highly anticipated revue, and we thank Sienna White for organising this, along with our hilarious video, amid HSC study; and the Valedictory Dinner, held at Doltone House. The dinner was celebrated with parents, family members, teachers and staff, with a fantastic feeling of joy and celebration. Thank you to the community relations team and the parent committee who put countless hours into this event, to make it such a special night.

We’d like to extend a huge thank you to the parents and staff who taught us, not only the HSC syllabus, but countless life lessons; and the many hours you dedicated to assisting us achieve our personal best through the HSC. Thank you also to the house mentors and Ms Herbert, who was our ‘second mum’ for the year. We could not have done it without any of you.
