Good causes

As the junior school student representative council (SRC), we took on the responsibility of organising school fundraisers for important causes. This year, we supported many charities. In Term 1, we hosted a ‘Crazy Hat Day’ to raise money for the Sydney Children’s Hospital and put scrapbooks together for sick children. In Term 2, we collected toiletries for Poppy Littlewood’s charity Little Care Packs. This helped raise awareness of homelessness in Australia. Students also wore their World Cup team’s colours to highlight unity throughout the world. In Term 3, we held a ‘Pyjama Day’ to help fundraise for the Year 6 SolarBuddy charity. In Term 4, we celebrated the end of the year by holding the SRC Market Day. Other fundraisers included ‘Fiver for a Farmer’ and ‘Jenes for Genes’ day. Being an SRC member was a great experience with important responsibilities and we appreciated the opportunity to lead the junior school students.
