Following these tips you will be able to develop original projects, made with your hands, with wisdom and ease. All projects are delicious: with the new Stamperia “Decor Felt“ simplicity and refinement are the main features. What about the Japanese shopping bag with floral design, the doll or objects made «swinging London» style? Who would have thought you could express your creativity even with a needle, thread and imagination? The bags are easy to make, such as glasses cases, purses and decorations on jeans. The puppets are funny, and the patches or the applications, placed anywhere, or in naughty positions, make unique and innovative vintage garments.

Felt

Decor Felt - Felt sheets

Felt is a fabric made of natural fibre, has neither plot nor warp. Not a tissue but it is manufactured by felting fibres and the material of which it is made is commonly carded wool. Precisely for this reason it is a typical warm, light and waterproof material. The Décor Felt is printed and it is another brilliant idea by Stamperia: an exclusive product, a real revolution for all expert sewing designers, a very useful ally for beginners and a real “must have” for your decorations... especially the Spring ones. Forget the plain colour: it’s colour and joy triumph, fashionable and always according to the latest trends. Floral patterns, polka dots, stripes or vintage patterns, lettering, children, butterflies, buttons, hearts... The challenge to overtake one’s own ability is officially open by matching cloth, jewellery, bags and accessories of all kinds in many original and unique ways.

Pannolenci

FElT IN SHEETS Sheets of felt both woollen and synthetic (Pannolenci) are available in many colours and thickness from 1 mm to 3 mm. This material is simple and quick to use: just cut out from the sheets the suitable shape for your decoration and sew them together with needle and thread or glue them!

Sewing RuNNING STITCH The strand stitch is quite long, however it is the easiest of the hand-stitches. It is used to baste, i.e. to hold together two or more layers of fabric when it is necessary to try a piece of clothing or before putting it through the sewing machine in order that everything remains in place.

The main hand stitches RUNNING STITCH

MATTRESS OR HIDDEN STITCH Also called the invisible stitch, it is a very small stitch that should not appear on the work. It is used to hem edges where the margins of the garment cannot be seen. The hidden stitches work from right to left: turn back the edge of the rim of about 1 cm keeping it with your left hand and make a small stitch, pinching one or two threads of the fabric with the needle. Point the needle and the hem to make a small stitch about half centimetre from one another. Continue by alternating the stitches, one below and one above the hem, without pulling too much the thread. MATTRESS STITCH

CROSS STITCH

An anonymous old coat turns into a unique model to wear!

10

Hobby Book

The cross stitch is easy to learn, just embroider a series of diagonal opening from left to right. After the last diagonal, reverse the diagonal direction (diagonal closing): from right to left. CROSS STITCH

It is a small stitch, the strongest of hand-stitches. The stitches seems machine-made: regular on the right and overlapped on the reverse. The back stitch is worked from right to left as follows: bring the needle with thread on labour law, enter the tissue at distance of few millimetres, from 1.5 to 3, behind the point the needle came out and remove it before the point, at the same distance. Continue like this, inserting and extracting the needle at a distance of half a point behind and before the preceding stitch. On the line, the stitches are all equal and next to each other, while on the reverse side they are twice length. BACK STITCH

BlANKET STITCH It is a stitch used for embroidery through carving. You run from left to right and the thread should remain under the needle. Stitches can be put more or less close. When spaced, this technique is decorative, when the stitches are close it prevents the fabric from fraying: so, it is used for hemming the slots or fabric notches.

Introduction

BACK STITCH

BLANKET STITCH

DAISy STITCH Used to define a real daisy. The needle goes through the right side of fabric and falls in the same spot, after forming the wire with a small loop around the needle. Pull the needle and attach the noose to the fabric with a dot. DAISY STITCH

Gluing techniques The glue, nowadays, is included in a very broad category: adhesives. According to this category, there are glues of different kind for very different use and specific needs. The use of glues for felt gives a wide range of quick and easy solutions with excellent results. HOT GluE

KRH01 Hot Glue Gun KRH01R 12 glue refill KRH02 Mini Hot Glue Gun KRH03R 12 mini glue refill

The Hot Glue is normally used by a device which has the shape of a gun through which, thanks to an inner resistor, the glue inserted in solid glue sticks melts internally and get out fluid. The Hot glue has an important characteristic: once it cools (drying time: few minutes) it is no longer possible that glued surfaces unstuck. Just in case, however, you can split the joined parts by using simple alcohol.

With the Transfer you can bring new life to normal clothes you are not wearing since long time! Give them a new fresh look! There are many patterns available, there is plenty of choice!

How to use it? 1

2

The Transfer is easy to use, fast and clean. Just stretch the fabric on a hard and smooth surface, preventing the cloth from wrinkles. Place the printed side of the transfer in contact with the fabric. Iron the design on its back over the cloth. Use the iron at average temperature, slightly pressing, hold for 10/15 seconds for each zone. Make sure that the whole area to be transferred has been heated evenly. Wait for the paper and the tissue to cool and then peel off the plastic film starting from the corners. Wash inside out in the washing machine at low temperature, let it dry and then iron on the reverse side.

Fold, as indicated by paper pattern, about 10 cm of the two upper sides of the bag, where we will apply the magnetic closure. The magnetic closure is made of two bodies that attract themselves, exactly two magnets, both formed by a part (magnet) equipped by metal flaps and a perforated circle to be placed on the back of the fabric in order to catch the magnet itself by bending the flaps: with the scissors tips cut the fabric slightly according to the distances of the flaps from the magnet. Put the flaps in the front and insert them into the metal ring on the back; folding the flaps the magnet is fixed to the fabric. Match the magnets to allow the proper closure of the bag.
