Outside of St. Joe’s, Mr.Hookerserves as music director at Parkside Lutheran Church in Buffalo and can also be seen accompanying for other churches in the area. Mr.Hookeris thankful for his family, friends and colleagues who are a constant source of support and encouragement, and for the community of adults and volunteers that makes this production possible.
Jeffrey Walling (Orchestra Conductor) A graduate of the University of Buffalo for Music Education and New York University for Jazz and Contemporary music studies, Mr. Walling joined the faculty of St. Joe’s in the Fall of 2020 where he directs the Concert Band, Percussion Ensemble and Jazz Lab Band. Prior to joining SJCI, Mr. Walling spent 20 years as a band director at Catholic Elementary and Middle Schools across the Buffalo/Rochester Area, and founded the Western New York Catholic School Honor Band.
Mr. Walling would like to congratulate the cast and crew of Pippin, especially the pit musicians, for their impressive commitment and hard work. Mr. Walling would also like to thank his wife, Kerrin, and two children, Larkin and Julian, for their constant love and support.
Ed Reilly (Co-Producer) is excited to be working on his fifth SJCI production. Previous SJCI shows include Beauty and the Beast, Rumors, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and Twelve Angry Jurors. Ed is currently in his fourth year on the faculty at SJCI as a Religion teacher where he also coordinates the Collegiate Ambassadors, SJCI Hiking Club, and the SJCI Outdoorsman Summer Camp for 7th and 8th grade boys.
A graduate of St. Francis High School, Ed was a member of the Male Chorus, Mixed Chorus, Senior Schola, Concert Band, Jazz Messengers, and the St. Francis High School Players. Ed was inducted into the SFHS chapter of the Performing and Visual Arts Society (PAVAS) and received the Drama Award given annually to a graduating senior. After high school, Ed received a BFA in Theatre and a BA in English from Niagara University where he participated in many NU Theatre productions both on-stage and behind the scenes. Ed also has a MS Ed degree from the University of Dayton and a MA in Theology degree from Christ the King Seminary. Ed is proud of the great work of the cast, crew, and production team!
Nancy Watts (Costume Designer) Nancy has been the costumer for St Joe’s shows since 2001 and has been active with the theater department since 1996. Nancy has also been the costumer for Niagara Regional Theater Guild since 1995 doing 5 shows a year with them and has assisted many other local theaters. She is the parent of three Swing Choir Alumni, one St Joe’s graduate and is happy to be costuming a Granddaughter in this year’s show.
Steven Harter ‘03 (Technical Director)
Kieran Deyell ‘16 (Stage Crew Director/ Master Carpenter) graduated from SJCI in 2016 after working with the theater productions throughout his high school career. Kiernan has been working in the Facilities Department at St. Joe’s since 2022. He is honored to be back working with the theater at St. Joe’s and teaching the lessons and skills that he learned while he was a student to the next generation.
In his spare time, Kieran works with the SJCI Swing Choir, is a volunteer leader with the Younglife youth group, does amateur lumberjack sports, and is currently working on publishing a book. He would like to thank the production staff for their support, especially Steve Harter for his continuing mentorship, as well as the remarkable students for their efforts and dedication.
Hayden Harter (Light/DesignerMaster Electrician) A graduate of the SJCI Class of 2014 and a recent graduate of the University at Buffalo’s Department of Theatre and Dance, Hayden is very excited to be back as Lighting Designer. Hayden would like to thank the amazing production team for making these shows possible year after year.
Jess Scibetta (Poster Coordinator/Set Painter) Jess is the Visual Arts teacher at St. Joe’s. She typically spends her time as an oil painter. Jess is very excited to have linked up with the theatre department.
Madison Harter (Stage Manager Mentor) is so excited to join the SJCI team as the stage manager mentor!She is a graduate from the University at Buffalo with a BA in Dance as well as a BA in Communication.
During her time at UB, she also began stage managing many productions and found a passion for stage management. She has stage managed several dance shows, concerts and festivals and continues to stage manage whenever asked in her downtime. She would like to thank her lovely husband, Hayden Harter, for bringing her along for the ride as well as Paschal and the whole production team for welcoming her in!
Kristen Frisina (Hair/Make-up) Kristen is returning to hair and makeup design after her 1st show at St Joe’s, this past fall’s drama, Twelve Angry Jurors She is also resident costume, hair, and makeup designer for St. Christopher’s Bound for Broadway program. Look for her work in their upcoming production of The Wizard of Oz here at the Cullen Center in a few weeks!
Patrick Towey '10 (Piano) is an Instrumental Music Teacher in the Kenmore-Tonawanda School District, teaching at Kenmore East and Kenmore West High Schools.
Prior to coming to Ken-Ton, he completed the residency portion of his Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Wind Conducting at the Peabody Conservatory of the Johns Hopkins University, and has achieved "All- But-Dissertation" status. Before
attending Peabody, Towey served for six years as Director of Bands at Plattsburgh Senior High School in Plattsburgh, NY. In that capacity, he directed the PHS Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble, Jazz Combos and conducted the spring musical theatre productions.
Outside of public school music, Towey is active in a wide range of musical organizations. He is a NYSSMA adjudicator for Solo and Small Ensemble Festivals in Piano, Brass and All-State Instrumental Jazz. He was the conductor for the 2019 Clinton County All-County Concert Band.
In theatre arts education, Towey serves as Music Director and Conductor for the Ken-Ton Summer Theatre Arts Group Experience and Artpark Summer Theatre Academy. He is also the Music Director at Kenmore Presbyterian Church. From 2013-2015, Towey served as the Founder and Music Director of the Western
New York Future Educators Wind Ensemble. He received his Bachelor of Music degree from the Eastman School of Music of the University of Rochester.
